This one is kind of a bummer but doulbe tapping the caps button no longer enables perminant caps it just capitalizes one letter and goes back to lower case lettering

Settings/general/keyboard then enable "Auto Caps Lock"

If you hit the locate button, the GPS will locate you. Wait til it finds you and hit it again. It will then use the compass to tell you which direction you are pointing/looking!!!

That feature was the opposite of hidden: it was highlighted in the keynote.

How do guys take screenshots of iphone and attach it here?

Hold down the power button then press the home button.

If you press the caps lock once, type a letter and press space, the caps lock will turn off, but if you double tap the caps lock button, it'll stay on caps lock.

Kind of weird thing I noticed though, if you go to a text message it'll automatically start with caps lock on. Press space bar and it's off. Press caps on again and then space, it'll turn off again. Turn caps on, once more and this time it will stay on no matter how many times you press space bar. I wouldn't say this is any kind of feature by any means, but something weird I noticed though.

If you read my other post(s), you would know what I was referring to. I know that caps lock went off when you pressed space. I am talking about double tapping caps lock.

If you hold the home button for about 2 seconds and let go it goes to search.

Not exactly. I tried it and when I held the home button and let go, it brought me to the home page. If I then tried it again, it brought me to spotlight.

However, the same goes if you just press the home button twice (not too close together) and it will take you to the home screen, and then you can press it again and get to spotlight.

That's not a hidden feature.

I only just noticed that in the iTunes app, you can now see the reviews (before you could only see the start rating and how many reviews there were).

It's been possible to read reviews before. They were at the bottom.

The first tap is not a caps lock, it's a shift. Double-tapping enables a caps lock thus keeping letters in caps. :)

Please read my other posts! I know how to use my phone, and I never said anything about pressing the shift button once. I am talking about double tapping it. If you are not going to read my other posts, like I mentioned, then do not reply to mine. I am not trying to be mean, but I have already said everything about caps lock and people are trying to tell me what it does.

This has nothing to do with other posts, I'm just correcting what you have posted. :) There is no caps lock button, it's a shift key. Doubletapping simply enables caps lock. :)

I think Tara's point was that in earlier OS's, caps lock was disabled after inserting space but now it stays enabled until you manually disable it. At least that was what Tara wrote in his/her earlier posts. :)

I'm not 100% sure that caps lock _always_ did act that way (ie got disabled after space) in previous OS's, but I do have encountered that behaviour from time to time.

The following is incorrect

• iPhone 2.2 would search your Exchange global addressbook, if you started typing a name into an email's To: field, but now you can search the global Address book directly from your Contacts app, and get telephone numbers too! (found by memesmith)

This is the correct statment

• Searching Exchange Global Addressbook in firmware 2 under contacts would return phone numbers but not type (mobile, home, etc). Type is now given.

Is there a way to pm they op to get corrected?

Has anyone gotten to try internet tethering? Is the speed good?

Also, I don't want to sound stupid but, are the hacks to enable tethering on US phones actually worth it or will they ride up your data plan?

I have tethered using my iPhone.

It's not amazing or blistering speed. I see it as the kind of thing which is better than nothing, say you've took a laptop to someones house who doesnt have the internet, then it would be useful. But apart from that I'm not going to use it alot.

If you tap on the icon of an app that is downloading, it will pause the download.
