3.0

this is a 3.0 software issue, and it should work, but getting COPY to actually come up IS a bit difficult.

If you have a device the controls or sets the sound (i.e. iTrip) on your iPhone it will now remove the volume slider from all apps including the iPod. If you plug headphones in the slider will reappear.

Hmmm. If I as simply just blow on my screen, the copy comes up. I can't stand it.

i noticed something too.
when you put your phone on airplane mode, u can't change the "Phone" tab settings.

You can use the iPhone/iPod while listening to an audio attachment in an email.

Previously, if you were listening to an audio attachment and pressed the home button, the audio would stop playing.

This was in 2.2.1

Pause App download

Am I late
to the party on this one? You can pause an app download by tapping on it. Wording goes from"downloading" to "paused".

This isn't a new "feature" but it's "different".

When closing applications now, the app screen will zoom and fade out. Previously, in 2.x, the screen would simply zoom out until it got so small it disappeared.

Please... don't ask me how I see these things, but I guess I'm really observant.

Mine still does that.

Streaming music built in

I have no clue if this is new are not, but I've discovered you can open up a stream and still have it playing even after you exit Safari. Here try it out

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I noticed that if you open the Stocks App, and touch the dots at the bottom of the screen, the top news articles come up. Also, when horizontal, you can flick through the graphs.

Double tapping an editble word such as a reply to a topic on here or in SMS or notes will automaticaly highlight that word for cut copy and paste options

I can't remember if I said this already, but you can 2-finger tap on a paragraph to highlight the entire paragraph.

Unknown incoming calls show the location of the call (found by jinjo235)

how can i use that feature

I was browsing macrumors earlier and went to reply to a post. I wanted to bold some text and didn't feel like typing in the [ b ] and [ / b ]'s so I highlighted the text then tapped the bold button as you would in OSX and it worked. It put in the bolding for me. I was extremely surprised. I guess the copy and paste system works the same as OSX.

If you have 3.0 on your phone, the location of the phone number will be displayed in recent calls and voicemail. This does not pertain to numbers that are already in your contacts because those just show up as the caller's name (presumed that you already know their location) and which phone they called from (mobile vs. home, etc.).
You don't need to do anything to use that feature. It just shows up.
