I'd like one you could change the size on the fly like we resize the windows in mac os

One day maybe ?? Reckon they've got something in the Apple secret labs like this ...

That sounds like magic or alien technology. There was a rumor we might get folding iPads though. But not sure if that means with a usable half screen or if it only folds for transportation.

To be honest I am for both camps. I like 12.9” but lately I am thinking for replacing for 11” as smaller iPad was more convenient for me.

since downloading 16.1 I have used stage manager and it has flaws but I like using it. that said it's good enough on 12.9 but not sure if it would be on the 11 inch. I just wish could resize windows more easily.

I was thinking the same if it is useful on the 11 inch. That was the main reason I have bought iPad Pro 12.9 and not smaller. I knew that in 12.9. will be more futureproof for multitasking

Having owned the 2018, 2020 and M1 12.9 inch. I've made the switch back to the 11 inch after selling my 12.9 M1 earlier in the summer. I had been waiting for the mini LED to come to the 11 inch with the M2, but alas that didn't happen, so picked up a good deal on an M1 11 instead.

The 12.9 inch screen was lovely, but just too big and heavy overall for me. I've enjoyed having a mini 6 for the past few months, but the 11 inch seems to be my sweet spot.

She said 12.9 is too big. The 11 inch is plenty. It does everything the other one can do and it just feels right.

I have Stage Manager enabled not for multi-window use but only so I could use all apps in any orientation I want. Quite useful for apps that would normally force you to a single orientation.

I really wanted or thought I did a 12.9" iPad and after careful consideration I decided to go with the M2 11" iPP.

I think I’ve posted before. I had the 11 pro, and after realizing I didn’t really need to keep my Mac, I went to the 12.9. I do love it, but definitely miss the 11 for portability.

Honestly, if I could unload the 12.9 and keyboard for anything close to a fair price, I’d probably just get an Air.

The brain can do some crazy backflips sometimes. I've been using a mini 6 all year, but was just at a family event where multiple iPads were present, and I had to think for a minute if my parents' iPad Pro was an 11" or 12.9". My sister has a mini 5 and it's so much bigger of a footprint than the mini 6 I thought it was an iPad Air at first.

Haha but they have almost the same dimensions. Mini 6’s height is just shorter by 8 mm, but same width and thickness (and weight).

Yeah, I know--isn't that weird? She had her smart cover on hers and it just looked like an Air to my eye for some reason. I didn't have my iPad with me on the trip to compare.

The closeness of this vote really shows that Apple got the two size choices spot on!
Or wrong :) a 12" might cannibalise sales of both existing sizes, and save apple processing a ton of returns as people switch between 12.9 and 11 because they cant decide or made the wrong decision.

I have been using a 2019 11" for 4 years now. It's starting to show its age, with the battery sometimes running out quickly and a first, unexpected drain overnight. I'm not really hindered in any way by performance yet, though more storage would be nice. I'm using it for notes (GoodNotes), music (AUM with some plugins) and couch surfing. I will never buy a magic keyboard as it adds way too much bulk. My laptop is a 14" MBP.

In several situations I'm finding the 11" a bit small to use. My eyes aren't getting better so browsing would be helped with a larger screen. AUM could be easier to use on a larger screen as well. But then I love the small, ultraportable form factor of the 11". I'll make sure I try out the 12.9" in-hand in a shop for a while before I replace this one.

I feel lucky because I still use my 2018 11" every day and I haven't noticed any battery issues.
