Unless they move to a 12" and 14" iPad. 😀Or wrong a 12" might cannibalise sales of both existing sizes, and save apple processing a ton of returns as people switch between 12.9 and 11 because they cant decide or made the wrong decision.

I agree the 12.9 really didn’t weight enough so I added the Magic Keyboard to give that extra needed weight 😆Yeah, the weight is also holding me back.. hmmm, 1st world problems
not rocket science, more viewing area for everything. Why is here always the argument with the poor eyesight in old age and that you therefore need the 12.9 ipad? That is just an excuse to justify the purchase. The font size in safari, for example, is the same on both tablets.
Under the accessibility settings you can enlarge the font size for both the system and Safari. In addition to this you can also increase the app icons size to large. There is also something called ‘page zoom’ in Safari where you can scale websites up to make everything larger. The reverse is true too where you can scale websites to less than 100% and have more on the screen reducing the need to scroll as much. Though it can make everything super tiny. 😂Why is here always the argument with the poor eyesight in old age and that you therefore need the 12.9 ipad? That is just an excuse to justify the purchase. i have the 2018 12.9 and still use it and love it. The battery is draining a bit faster these days thoughI feel lucky because I still use my 2018 11" every day and I haven't noticed any battery issues.
I'd suggest also getting a tablet pillow. Super handy and gets rid of the weight issue. I exchanged my 12.9 for an 11, but the the one I had held the 12.9 just fine.I'm thinking about the 12.9" but looking at both in the Apple Store has made me wonder whether the extra weight will annoy me. It'll mostly be for use at home sometimes for watching films/telly programmes on the sofa, sometimes as a second screen when I'm using my 13" MBP and sometimes to try to show pictures to my severely sight impaired mother. I'm thinking I'd use a stand for that last one (would need to even with the 11" as she's also found my old 9.7" iPad Pro too heavy to hold) so the weight issue is really for me on the sofa.
I guess maybe I should get one and see if it fits well into my life.
That looks like a good call. Thanks!I'd suggest also getting a tablet pillow. Super handy and gets rid of the weight issue. I exchanged my 12.9 for an 11, but the the one I had held the 12.9 just fine.
No problem. That particular image is a "Flippy" that I bought on Amazon. I like that you can choose from three different angles for your tablet. Use mine every single day. That looks like a good call. Thanks!

It’s a great device. I had that one. the only only reason I upgraded to The latest iPad Pro in November 2021 was because my 2018 had fallen and got many cracks over the years. If it was still is great condition I’d kept it still.I feel lucky because I still use my 2018 11" every day and I haven't noticed any battery issues.
Sounds like a good use case for the 12.9 ... it's really best used with a keyboard so the weight sitting around shouldn't be a real issue. It's the walking around with it where the weight counts ... but I'm finding the 12.9 to be more useful since I don't really need to be nimble with it around the house. I set up with it on the couch or in bed. The 11" is sitting at the dinner table with the smart keyboard folio (easy to clean food bits off it) and that's what I pick up to take on a day trip.I'm thinking about the 12.9" but looking at both in the Apple Store has made me wonder whether the extra weight will annoy me. And that is exactly why Apple makes two sizes.2k votes and 5 years later and it’s 49.7 vs 49.7% this is madness lol
