Which is the best iPad Pro ?

I have an older 12.9 and I'm switching to the 11. I am done with the larger size, the screen space is great but it's too big and clunky. I'm looking forward to the 11, it looks fantastic.

I originally ordered the iPhone Xs Max but returned it because it was just too darn heavy (not the size -- I have no problem with Pixel 2 XL which was the same size). I have the original IPP 9.7 and that is about as heavy as I want to go. so I went with the 11.

One other thing I didn't like about the Xs Max was that even though it had a bigger screen you didn't get any more icons per page -- they were just spread out more. From the video it looks like 12.9 has the same issue. Not a major thing but still irritating to me (especially with the $$$ being spent)

Actually there is a difference in layout between the 12.9 and 11 inch iPad Pro. This is mostly evident in split screen. The 12.9 iPad will display the full app version for both apps in split view-- the 11 inch displays the compact views.

It really comes down to how you intend your iPad.

I have heard this very often, but not really seen it. So it has just been a hear say for me ! Can anyone post a picture of how the Full Version APP look on the iPad and How does the Compact View Version look on the iPad ?

I ended up buying a 12.9 256 , be here by the end of the month .

Bigger is always better imo.

Have you used a 12.9-inch before? Looks like the majority of people who had one of those have chosen 11 inch this time. I was tempted to get the 12.9-inch as it has a reduced form factor, but as soon as I saw the weight and the size of that keyboard folio I changed my mind. I know I will definitely regret it after a few days.

The dimension and weight of 12.9inch pro with keyboard folio is almost identical to the Google Pixelbook, which I happen to own. It's definitely not something I enjoy picking up. The mental effort of picking up a 2.2 pound (incl. folio) tablet so so off putting.

I had a 12.9 and begrudgingly gave it to my dad as he wanted a bigger screen , every time I see it I get display envy.

I have an air 2 and it’s great until you put the on screen keyboard up , then it becomes problematic

One thing some people are not realizing is that unlike 2017, the border to lcd ratio is different this year. Before the 10.5 looked amazing cause it had much thinner borders compared to the 12.9.
Now that border width is the same for both devices, the 12.9 will feel like it has an even bigger screen, which is good news for me.

See this post on page 1 of this thread. Apparently the 11 inch does display a full version of the app, unlike the 10.5 inch.

No, it doesn't. That screenshot doesn't show it. It has already been proven from Apple's own developer website, that the 11" iPad Pro will display apps in "compact" mode in 50/50 split view.

Can anyone please post a screenshot on how a Compact View of APPS or whatever looks on an 10.5" iPad Pro and how does a Full view, regular view look on a 12.5" iPad Pro.

I know I need to roll with the 11 inch. It gives me the ability to use at my desk and on the couch/in bed comfortably. I still feel like the 12.9 is just a little too big to handle casually, which is important to me. Every time I watch a video though I second guess myself, so no more watching videos. I don't think you can go wrong with either option!

I am still waffling. I have a 15" MBP and the iPhone XS Max so I was thinking the 11" would be a good "in between" for those. I used to own a 12.9 and am wondering if the 11 is going to be too small - but I don't want it to be redundant to my MBP. Thoughts?

(Edit: I already purchased the 11" through Best Buy last night but am trying to decide whether to switch that o the 12.9, but the $200 difference is also a consideration).
I’m in the same boat!! Trying to decide! I ordered the 11” and want to check out the 12.9 inch. Just wonder if they will be available in the apple store tomorrow or Best Buy?

I was fortunate enough to be able to snag a 12.9 ipad 256GB today. Was expecting a queue this morning at my local retailer but it was only two people. My two cents coming from a diehard 10.5 ipad user is to really try both the 11 and 12.9 out... I brought my trusty 10.5 for comparison and was shocked to find the 12.9 quite managable... the slimmed bezels really makes the big screen pop... the weight was managable to the point that it swayed my decision on getting a 11".... imo the 11" did not wow me over as much as the 12.9 and if u have a 10.5... my advice is to stick to it... if u r prepared to spend this type of money, I strongly advise you to check it out in person if u can : )

I’ve picked up my 12.9 iPad Pro cellular 256gb model. I was never a fan of the old 12.9 as I thought it was too large, and am a huge fan of the iPad mini size. With the new smaller form factor, I decided to give the 12.9 a try again.

First impressions of the 12.9 are good. The size and weight is great and easily manageable, nearly all apps (e.g. Netflix, BBC sports, stock apps) display correctly with no weird black bars. It’s extremely fast and snappy, the 120hz display is great, and smart folio keyboard and pen work great. I’m pretty happy with this iPad so far.

Here are some size comparison pics. I don’t have a 10.5” to compare with unfortunately. Devices next to the pro are the iPad Mini 4, iPhone X, and 13” MacBook Pro (old model).

Edit: Sorry for the poor white balance on some of the pics.
Edit 2: Just tried Rome Total War and the app does not utilize the full screen, and has a thin black band all the way around due to the space needed for the gesture bar.

Do you think the 11" looks very tiny before the 12.9" ?
