Booting ignoring caches never worked for me  maybe i need to remove nvram file?

Yes you need to remove the FileNVRAM, it does not work with Yosemite yet.

I went back and re-read the post you made about the FileNVRAM that works with r2380 and 10.9... it works because that file is for 10.9. Yosemite uses a different compression than Mavericks and the FileNVRAM does not work yet.

If anyone would like to try, I have made a guide similar to the one that I made for Mavericks a while ago. It is for setting up a single hard drive that contains the Boot, Installer, and Yosemite partitions all on one drive. This is how I am currently running 10.10 DP2 on my Mac Pro 1,1 with a GTX570. The guide includes links for Chameleon r2380, an Extra folder and the Kernels folder.

Also, I have never been able to get chameleon to boot or even recognize something on an external drive like a USB installer. I have always used an internal HDD with at least two partitions, a boot/chameleon partition and an installer partition.
Chameleon uses LEGACY boot mode, so you can only run from devices supported by that for Boot Camp, which are the four SATA ports and the 2 IDE ports used in the DVD bay, but not the 2 or 1 internal, extended SATA ports.

If anyone would like to try, I have made a guide...

Yosemite is installing as I type this. I'll report back, probably tomorrow. It's late here and I have and early start!

Thanks for the advice in all of your posts and for the well structured guide.

Sorry.
Right. Once you double click to start the 10.10 install, the MBP will tell you it’s preparing for the install and restart itself. Allow the install to complete on the external and the MBP will tell you that it’s going to restart again.
Allow this to happen and you’ll find yourself at the Start Up Assistant, but do not go any further, (this is just to check that your new install is bootable). Just press ⌘Q to exit and your MBP will shutdown or boot back to whatever OS it's currently running.
Whichever it does, open DU and highlight the external drive in the sidebar. Now choose, File> New> Disk Image from………... and clone the external to any storage location on you MBP that you like as it’s only 16GB. You can use this disk image as a virgin base from which to work.

What I mean is any time you mess up what is on the external you just clone back to it from your disk image.
You have two choices for how to work;
You can start your Mini in Target Disk mode and clone to its internal drive or…
Boot 10.10 externally on it until you have a working install - at which point you can clone your newly verified external to your Mini internal.

As i said yesterday this morning i bring with me my MBP and i'm testing...
Anyway it seems it doesn't work.
I mean i did as you suggest but when i try to reboot using USB external Yosemite nothing appens and both the Macmini and the MBP boot with Mavericks...

Now i suspect i didn't understood when to stop the installation...
Untile now i used "command Q" to close the MBP as soon as appear the windows to select language... or keyboard (i don't remember)... In practice as soon as after the second reboot... Is it right? Or should i quit when it asks me if i want to import data using migration?

Now i'm tring in this way... anyway i hope you will give me more detail... :)
Thanks

As soon as the MBP reboots after the installation bar completes you use the power button to force it to shut down instead of reboot.

Chameleon cannot boot a USB drive. You have to use that USB drive to restore the install to an internal HDD.

----------

Need more details, what version of chameleon, DP1 or DP2, post your org.chameleon.boot.plist.

DP2 (DP1 booted fine before)
Chameleon r2380

Install of DP2 wents fine. But only the boot from the fresh system don´t work.

The weird thing is ... 1st boot from the fresh System works but every boot after the 1st failed. I installed DP2 3 times and it was the same behaviour every time.

So, some minutes ago i tried in this way: Using my MBP i double click on the Yosemite Installer in the Application folder; i make it restart e set to install Yosemite on my USB hard disk (which i had just partitioned as GUID); i leave it to complete the installation and when it showed the windows for Migration Assistant i quit.

Then i connected the USB Hd to my Macmini, i went to disk utility an i make it restore the USB hd in one of the partition of the hard disk of my Macmini.

Then i reboot, i pushed "alt" and selected the partition of the macmini's hard disk in which i restored Yosemite -i don't know why but there were 2 Yosemite partition... Yosemite and Yosemite 1...- i tried them both, but still nothing! The Macmini starts with Maverics...!

I repeat that i didn't used Chameleon nor on the Main HD nor on the USB... ON MY MAIN HD (even if i make 3 partition) there's installed only Mavericks thanks to Tiamo boot...

I can't understand why it doesn't works...!

Now i'm trying to install again Yosemite to force quit as soon as the installation bar ends, as you suggests...

Have you got any other ideas?

Thank you very much...

If your Mac mini is not supported by Yosemite, then it cannot boot it and will boot the first OS it can, Mavericks with Tiamos boot.efi. You have to use chameleon or clover to boot Yosemite on an unsupported Mac right now.

Ah... i understand...
But if i try to install Chameleon on my main Hd does it broke my Mavercks partition?
I would like to try but the Macmini is the Mac i use to work... so i wouldn't damage it...
If it is possibile to use chameleon without damage the Mavericks partition i would try using your guide... :)

Still Thanks :)

You could try creating a 1GB boot partition. Then install Chameleon there. I would make sure you have everything backed up though if you are doing this on your main HDD.

Worked perfectly, Boot, Installer and 10.10 all on one drive. Thanks!

Must be. Not even got to the 10.10 install bit yet. Still fudging around with Chameleon

boot0 : GPT
boot0 : test
boot0 : test
boot0 : done

I tried the instructions that mention about 4k sectors but they don't seem to work on this agility 2 SSD

I still have a working chameleon 2380 on my 2TB WD green drive but I have been wanting to get it all on the one drive and have mine partitioned into 1/8/111gb now

UPDATE: Just installed DP2 through the App Store and it booted up perfectly fine again, without the need to reinstall Chameleon etc. Loving it so far!

Having trouble with boot1h thing not helping me to boot off a 120GB OCZ SSD :(

Just flashes with _ sign

Just a hunch...you mean a flashing - (minus) sign I imagine ? If you happened to have installed all three (3) partitions on one (1) formatted GUID/HFS + Hard Drive, my experiences are that 99.9 %, I get the exact same thing when I attempt to do so.

I am stuck as I reported the other day; I have to list GraphicsEnabler = No within my org.chameleon.Boot.plist otherwise I get "Memory allocation error: 0xdeadbeef, Size: 0x0 ati.c, Line 1438. This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!!" when enabled.

Performing the following commands in terminal:

sudo -s
enter

sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel -all-loaded
enter

sudo kextcache -v 1 -a i386 -a x86_64 -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext -z /System/Library/Extensions/

...enabled my kernel cache/allowed the removal of the -f in my org.chameleon.Boot.plist. While it did enhance a faster boot, it had no effect on the graphics issue I am experiencing with Chameleon v2380 and OS X 10.10 DP2. (I did not experience this issue with the former OS X 10.10 DP1 and Chameleon v2377)

Basically in updating to OS X 10.10 DP2 14A261i, with Chameleon v2380 I am getting a fully working system EXCEPT graphics with my installed stock Apple ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card. Ironically, when booting the exact same Hard Drive with Clover, Clover injects the graphics perfectly however the issues remain with it not loading native AppleHDA audio nor it is able to recognize the ODD SATA ports and the SATA Optical Blue ray drive connected to one of them on the motherboard.

iMessage and FaceTime are working regardless of the bootloader I am using. I have noted that anyone reporting here without any such graphic issues are all using flashed or non genuine nVidia/ATI graphics cards. If anyone with a stock Apple ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card could report in, I would greatly appreciate it

That is the 4k sector error but I have never tried it with a SSD. I am using a WD Black HDD for my Yosemite testing. I got the 4k error back when I used Chameleon for Mavericks on a Seagate SSHD but the instructions included fixed it.

Guess all I can do then is give up and go back to the way I had it running previously with 2 drives :(

Better than it not working at all :D
