If it is a 2600Xt why not put it in at same time as the Nvidia cards and see what is going on?
I wasn't sure if I could do that but I'll try. I was wondering if the slot one is designated for video only???

Ok so that works, I see both of the video cards. It even asked me if I wanted to change the PCIe slot lane configurations to get optimal bandwidth.
But regardless, it will not do anything with the gtx 570 it doesn't detect monitors when I plug them into it. It's like something is crippled on that card now.
Any suggestions??
Check the Nvidia Driver, if it is on, turn it off and reboot. If it is off, turn off and reboot.
Does 570 have both power cables plugged in?
Yes changed stock to web driver, reboot, switched slots it's really strange.
I don't know if there's a problem going from a higher generation Nvidia like the gtx 970 back down to the 570???
Very odd, I don't know why the AX6450 won't work anymore, but I'll try that again next.
Is there some file that stores graphics card parameters I might need to flush???
Also I was using switchResX I just uninstalled it but it doesn't seem to see the cinema 30 monitor still....
Going from one card version down to another shouldn't matter. Double check that both power cables were plugged all the way in and the card was seated all the way into the slot.
Well it's now working with the AX6540
The RV630 is now not displaying the resolution on the asus mx299 correctly. Similar to when it was telling me I needed to use a DVI dual cable.
The AX6540 is running the Cinema 30" screen.
I'll try one more time with the GTX Really odd problem.

Hello All,
First off, thanks to everyone on here and out there that got Yosemite to install.
Second, I have a Mac 1,1 and cloned my working 10.7.5 drive to another HD and verified it would boot. I used the cloned hd and used the premade image of the USB drive to install Yosemite and everything works! 10.10 is up and running! I then decided to update via App store and ran into an issue where it the install of the combined update hung up and I had to force shutdown. Rebooted and Then Kernel Panic... so I recloned and started over. Still at 10.10 until I can read more about what I can do to get up to date.
Now my issue is that my previous 10.7.5 drive will give the "BSD... blah blah Kernel_task error" at the apple logo. So that will not boot. I imagine it's the firmware or something got copied onto the drive? Anyway, I'd love to be able to select which HD to boot from at will, to keep experimenting and fall back to 10.7.5 to do my audio work. Any Ideas?
Thanks again!
Not yet... Still on 10.3.9.. upgraded to Yosemite, while it does work there's plenty of bugs. Trying to get some info on how to boot off of my 10.7.5 OS drive since it panics, while the HD with Yosemite works.
Are you saying that is says it IS compatible or NOT... if it says it is only compatible with 10.7+ and you are trying to install on 10.10+, that is weird though Avid hasn't approved of PT11 on Yosemite just yet. If I get PT11, I will try it out.
Pro Tools 11 minimum OS is 10.8 and up, including 10.10.
I'm on Pro Tools 11.3 on my 2 Mac Pros and it works like a charm in 10.9. I used it in Yosemite as well but I've gone back to Mavericks since.
Your Mac Pro is fine, even if not officially supported by Avid. I have PT 11 on my 1,1, no issue whatsoever.
Be more specific regarding your setup but it's probably way off topic, PM me if you'd like.
Ok, maybe it is the yosemite, I read where someone had issues loading on 10.10 it thinks it is 10.1 -

Just looked it up: Pro Tools 11.3 supports Mac OS X 10.10 & 10.10.1 (Yosemite), 10.9.5 (Mavericks) and 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion)
Now... back to my HD issues... haha..
Can you boot the 10.7.5 HDD in safe mode?
It would not. I had a very recent backup in time machine so restored from there last night and now they both boot fine.. Odd but I'll take it.
Thanks for the response!
Hi,
Does anyone have a clue on fixing this error ?
"OS X Yosemite is already installed on this Mac."
Thanks for your help.
Hi all,
Lot of work already done, congrats !
Made a try with GM Candidate 1 for installer and Hennesie most recent "silly" boot.efi.
Installer boots correctly i get the following message:
"OS X Yosemite is already installed on this Mac."
Despite i'm using only one HDD on the MacPro that is a new 120GB SSD with 2 partitions :
1 x 8Go including the installer
and
1 x 112 Go empty for Yosemite to be installed.
Really do not understand what is happening
Have you got any idea ?
Thanks,
Update 1:
I've used the first installer i made for Yosemite 1 and changed original boot.efi with new ones, i get the same result when running this install:
"OS X Yosemite is already installed on this Mac."
yosemite allready installed message.....
You have to copy manually the BaseSystem.chunklist and basesystem.dmg to the root of the USB stick.
Thats all.
I made the USB, but the Mac will not boot into it. I hold down the option key, but the USB drive does not appear. Once I get into OS X, then the SFOTT on the USB appears.
Ideas on what's going on?
