good luck flashing, you can do it trough multiple different ways.
using bootcamp Windows/Linux Nvidia nvflash or an CH341A with an eeprom clipper for example..

Thank you, I will likely throw the card in one of the Precision laptops I have and flash with Windows. I'll report back!

Holy crap... This is awesome! I was thinking about trying something similar to this, but never had much of a chance or the time to try... Getting these modern/reliable cards working in an iMac with boot screen is a HUGE deal! No more garbage Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx series! I look forward to trying this out on a couple 2011 iMacs of mine.
Thanks, I thought you would appreciate it. Let us know how it goes when you get time to try it. It still needs some work, I’m hoping there might be some magic NVRAM variables that can fix the current issues.
Apologies for the hiatus of DyingLight production... They are hand assembled and programmed by myself and a friend of mine who worked on the project with me, and both of us have been extremely busy. Currently, though, they are back in stock, and we should be able to retain stock for quite awhile.
No probs, great to see them back in stock now. I did send you a PM about it a few months back, but I guess you were swamped with DeMux / Catalina stuff at the time. I was a bit worried you were going to discontinue the DyingLight once you got the DeMux firmware backlight control working, how’s that going btw?
Side note, wonder how high it's possible to go. I know this won't be compatible but its fun to look at. https://www.ebay.fr/itm/NEW-HP-Zboo...649508?hash=item26254e5ba4:g:160AAOSwNEVdY9Nb (yes the link is French, sorry its from a different forum)
This would be funny if it wasn’t true – that card probably has boot-screens working out of the box! :)
No mods needed - but no sign of the MacOS drivers either! :( Nvidia actually added Mac compatibility to the Turing vBIOS (hybrid UGA / GOP), that’s been confirmed working on the MacPro. I’m pretty sure they only did it as a FU to Apple for not signing-off the Mojave web drivers! :p

That card might work on High Sierra with modified web drivers, but I doubt it, and I won’t be selling a kidney to find out! The RTX 4000 is slightly cheaper, and EuroCom are still trying to keep MXM alive so should have some Turing cards available soon. If anyone is crazy enough to try it – I’m here to help! lol

The new VBIOS worked perfectly. For anyone struggling with getting into the Mac to flash with NVFlash, what I ended up doing was installing Windows 10 in UEFI mode on a spare computer, configuring it to allow RDP, and critically: blocking Windows Update from installing driver updates. The first time I tried this, it auto-rebooted for updates and was in a BSOD loop. Then I just booted the iMac up with the SSD attached via USB. Was able to RDP right in and download/flash the VBIOS.

for anyone who is interessted, I have uploaded the iMac technician guides to mega, and a Windows 7 ultimate winclone bootcamp image.
the bootcamp image is based of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit English, and has RDP enabled by default.
Username : Administrator
Password : password

This image could be helpfull for using Nvflash for example, for flashing the vbios. or with AMD tools.
External display also works, internal display not if you are not using the custom vbios from Nick [D]vB.

A reboot second time into this bootcamp image ,could be necessary !
just use startup disk selector within MacOS ;)

These technicial guides also show how to properly remove the logic board / graphics card in the correct way ;).
iFixit does not have the guides for this..

I have returned my WX5170, and got the K2000M.
From here.

I installed it and it does power on, just without a screen. And I could not get the Windows or Linux working on it so RDP was not option.
I took the K2000M back out and attempt to flash rom from here, I think that is the correct version to flash.

Problem is that when I try to flash, I get
"Image size (159232_B) doesn't match the flash chip's size (262144_B)"

Any idea or help?

Do NOT use the normal CH341 windows software / drivers, use the version of Flashrom I posted here (you must install the included driver first through device manager). Make several dumps just in case, then use UEFITool 0.26 to edit.

Also be very careful attaching & removing the clip, you must support the weight of the ribbon cable so it does not pull on it. It is very easy to damage the clip so it will not stay attached, then you risk damaging the EEPROM chip / logic-board trying to make it work.

I am still travelling at the moment so I might not be able to reply quickly, but I will try and check back later and I should be home next week. Good luck with it.
Hi.
I cannot install your driver suggested in windows 10 after i disabled dignature verification. Ive installed another version.
Why is better not use windows-gui software to dump vbios?
ive used one to backup vbios from gtx and worked perfect.
Can i use the keplerv2 vbios for flash gtx765m with CH341A and windows gui sofware?
Thanks

Well, NVidia GTX 765M purchased.

I hope to use my iMac again.😌

great,I would highly suggest you also apply the EFI bootrom mod from Nick [D]vB ! :) ;)

I would still reccomend you use MacOS/Linux with your CH341A programmer.
MacOS worked fine for me multiple times, no issues at all with drivers and stuff.. ;)
Linux should be the same experience I would expect..

I acquired an internal testing model of 21.5” Mid 2011 iMac. It has an Apple sanctioned Nvidia GT108 card. (540M). No 2011 iMac ever shipped with an Nvidia card. I will dump the ROM from it and post it up here tomorrow. Maybe someone can unlock the secrets of the brightness control from it. It gives bootscreen to external. Unsure about internal display as the iMac didn’t come with a screen. Will a 21.5” card give bootscreen on a 27” of the same generation? I can test the card in a 27 if this is the case.

wow this is great and special news !!
This could perhaps give some great benefits for creating/optimizing vbios mods !

I think it will give a bootscreen just fine in a 27” iMac aswell..

sharing this special Apple rom could be very good for this community 👍👍👍

Flashrom needs files exactly the same size as the EEPROM, try it now...

Hi, Nick. Thank you for the converted ROM file. It flashed successfully.

But after assembly, it still does not show screen.
I tried GTX 765M which did not work << I think I got dead board for sure
Then tried WX5170 which again did not work << Thanks for help though!
and now the K2000M still does not work << But it sure it reached more to being done!

Any idea? Also the Video out(HDMI) does not work.

have you tried reseating the card.. ?
In my experience these imac mxm slots really need a very little but gentlittle push to go in properly in the slot..

Wow that's really interesting! Even though I would have no idea what to do with one I imagine rom has the potential of spilling the secrets of boot screens on fermi cards (this list apparently, the ones with M are obviously the ones that are probably mxm https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4656/~/list-of-fermi-series-geforce-gpus) Or at the very least let us use a 540M.

i'm pretty sure if this Rom will be dumped here, this rom could be of great benefit of creating new roms and or fixing current bugs..

Perhaps somebody like @Nick [D]vB could have some great benefit of this prototype Mac nvidia rom.. ? ;):)

ok, im sorry to hear.
your original AMD card is dead I presume.. ?

And about external display, note that only 1 mini display port works, you are aware of this.. ?

I lost the bracket of the original AMD when I tried GTX 765M. I did reflow it, but haven't tried it yet since I lost the bracket.
Yea, I am aware of only one Displayport works, but it is just one? or is it specifically just one of displayport.

ok I see.
Usually it is the one nearest to the USB ports.
Only 1 works, at least this is my experience so far.

I would highly suggest you try both ports !

yea, flashed the correct vbios. Nick has gently provided the one to flash using CH341A.

yes ive seen, sry.
Strange any way, your iMac does power on I presume.. ?

are you able to remote into your iMac ?
What does it show about the graphics card.. ?

also tried an nvramand smc reset ?

yea, I have tried PRAM reset, and SMC.
I have failed to setup the remote of iMAC, so I cant. also I cannot blindly boot the Windows you have provided unfortunately. T.T

I think I does boot to mac OS. It just does not display. I press Num Lock and it makes a 'funk alert sound'.
