Hi everyone!
I succeed in installing a K1100 in a 27" 2011 Thank you for your work! You're awesome!
By the way: I flashed the vbios with the latest rom by @Nick [D]vB (Dec 2019). Still without boot screen
and no native brightness control (that was supposed to be fixed, did I do something wrong?)
Without boot screen I'm not able to install Catalina: how can I do that without using another computer? I have another iMac 27" 2010 with its original graphics card and works fine.
Thank you so much guys! <3
Ok. Now I noticed that I cannot disable SIP with new card on. Is that a problem? Command R is a blank screen. No secondary display.
sudo nvram "recovery-boot-mode=unused" && sudo reboot recovery
csrutil disable
YOu should have bootscreen only when you are holding down option. Maybe try it with a USB keyboard? What does it says for the graphics card name under About this mac?
Thank you for all your help. It was the internal monitor cable which was damaged. Now everything works fine!If you have a k2000m you can try that also. I see you are using an analog MDP adapter, I think this could be your issue. I'm pretty sure you have boot screen because the card is flashed, but you can't see it. You can test Target disk mode by opening system preferences and selecting "Target Disk mode" see if anything comes on your display then, even if not, if you have firewire 800 cable or Thunderbolt 1 cable, you can plug your iMac into another Mac and see if the disk mounts on the other Mac.
Hi @passatgt !
The screen is black until the login screen of the OS. I'll try to press 'option'.
The graphics card name under 'About this Mac' is: Quadro K1100M by Nick [D]vB 2048 MB
Did I do something wrong?
Thank you!!
Well, it should work then. Hold down option during boot and you should see the boot menu. Maybe try with an external screen if still not working? Or maybe you have an old Boot ROM version?(you can check that system information / hardware overview)
Thank you so much! It worked! Now I'm installing Catalina .
What about the native 'Brightness control'?
I checked the version of the ROM and it's the 3782 (so I think that's the latest one, from December 2019, right?
Yeah! I've already installed Catalina and the brightness slider app!Brightness control is not ready yet, but you can use the brightness slider app, that kinda works(it won't reduce the actual backlight, just put an opaque black overlay over your screen)
This is one of the missing things: You will not see the die temperature because the bios does not deliver this. To survive the heat sink temperature will be enough especially with these small type A cards which barely draw power.Yeah! I've already installed Catalina and the brightness slider app!
Thank you for your support!
BTW, the GPU Die Analog temperature is 0ºC. Is that normal?
Thank you again!
Ok. I got it to boot recovery mode but blank screen. Now I start to get this. This should also be done remotely because no picture again. Of course I could navigate blindly. But yes. Need the Remote Desktop etc. big work for me.. no. WhAt: it started to external as I wrote this. ****. It works: now I can write to terminal. Ok. Thank you. Wow. Now I get the SIP done =DWith new GPU without Nick's Vbios mod you will not able to use Apple hotkey on boot.. So you can NOT use Command R to boot into recovery disk
what should you do to boot into recovery boot and disable SIP is via Terminal command
Code:sudo nvram "recovery-boot-mode=unused" && sudo reboot recovery
your mac will reboot to recovery disk.. Then using Terminal type
Code:csrutil disable
The Nvidia nvflash software does only exist for Windows and Linux.Ok. I got it to boot recovery mode but blank screen. Now I start to get this. why can I not flash with Mac. I gues it is OS based problem. No software for that? So I need Linux or Windows to be running. Getting there.. maybe today. thanks!
I will also try xanderon Linux . I guess there will also be 780m to choose from. Only thing I am worried about is if I manage to use my Asus router. The Nvidia nvflash software does only exist for Windows and Linux.
You can use a CH341A USB programmer directly from MacOS with homebrew and the flash package as described on page one of this thread. I do this and flash my cards before installing them. Others complain regularly about contact problems using the clip and the bios chip.
But I will give the Unix USB boot stick published three pages back a try later today.
Greetings from your time zone from the south!
Here you see the content of the stick. It contains Nick's 780m ROM. In any case of doubt you may reload the ROM files from page one and do a binary comparison (diff command in terminal or calc hashes using shasum) or just replace the files on the stick. My value using Catalina shasumI will also try xanderon Linux . I guess there will also be 780m to choose from. Only thing I am worried about is if I manage to use my Asus router.

It seems St. Nick is running a few days late this year, 🎅
or maybe a few weeks early, depending on where you live…
Quadro roms attached, for the following cards:
K1000M, K1100M, K2000M, & K2100M
They all have CoreEG2 integrated so no boot-rom mod required.
The clocks should also be unlocked in windows (not P5 limited)
and they have a moderate over-clock which should be stable.
Thanks to @highvoltage12v for running the K2X stability tests,
so if your iMac crashes, for any reason, it’s totally his fault !
I have native brightness control & Target Display Mode working
so far only on the two newer cards (K1100M & K2100M)
At the moment this will require using the OpenCore boot-loader
to do some ACPI injection, and maybe load some additional Kexts.
I’m working on a plug-n-play version that runs from a USB stick,
but there are still some things to fix so that may be a few weeks out.
Not forgetting the red team…
I worked out what was limiting the boost clocks in MacOS,
these Beta3 roms should now be completely un-limited.
I’ve also included an over-clocked version - but be careful,
it will produce a lot more heat so make sure you crank the fans up!
I’m still working on a fix for that code 43 driver issue in Windows,
and hoping we can use OpenCore to work-around the problem,
as it can also be used to enable “iMacPro” HEVC encoding for FCPX etc.
The boot-rom mod is still required for AMD, probably always will be,
It’s included here but there are no changes so no need to re-apply it.
UPDATE for K1100M !
Well this is embarrassing... turns out I'm an idiot!
I accidentally uploaded the wrong file for the K1100M
If you downloaded the previous version do not flash it.
No other cards effected, I have updated the download.

I've applied the dosdude1 Mojave patch, do you guys get a quick little blip of a text-window during the boot up screen near the apple logo and apple progress bar? It only lasts for about 1/2 second.
Does this happen in Catalina as well? Thanks.
Also is anyone getting an eficheck.dump generated?
