Thank you so much!i should of checked the simple things before asking haha! Thanks again. Out of curiosity and learning, how come after doing a NVRAM reset the startup disk chose to be my Windows 10 Partition?

My iMac 27 mid 2011 i7 3,4Ghz, 24Go ram, HD6970M 2Go fully functional, SSD highSierra + Windows 8.1
I bought a Dell Quadro K2100M 2Go and installed it
Now :
> only a black screen,
> led diagnostic only 1 and 2 are ON
smc and pram done without any effect
Any solution to solve it?

what about the nvflash, it went bad and gave you errors? or have you used the usb programmer?
I didn't flash it yet, it would be the next step under windows 8.1 but I can't only a black screen

1 you should read the instructions....
2 disconnect the internal hdd, pop in the usb an the lan cable, wait 1 min, than ssh with another mac or pc and flash using terminal

so guys, I have a little gift for you to give back after such an incredible thread :D hope you like it, the headaches to get it running were immens for me as a newb. I couldn't stand it to use fckin windows to flash the cards and so I prepared this ~350mb drive I created a Linux Live USB...

and delete known_hosts file

ssh-keygen -f ~/.ssh/known_hosts -R iMacIP
But same result, nvflash detect no nvidia card
Next, well I think the card is dead... no detection at all, 2 leds on, I put back my HD6970m everything works like a charm.

if the problem is ONLY the bios, you'll solve it with the chip programmer.
just be sure to get it from an eu seller and not from china, otherwise you'll wait for more than 2 months...

Then I would advice to start at the very first page of this thread and follow the links to the docs, and howto, and even videos when it comes to the clip programmer.
And a dead card will remain a dead card regardless which programmer you are going to use. I have a flashed 780m, three green lights without the internal LCD installed. Booting with chime, starting up and when the (external) display is activated the complete machine powers off within a split second. You cannot solve hardware issues by software programming. I was able to flash it using the linux flash stick method, but it remains broken and even worse: Now I cannot even startup the linux flash image again, the power down prevents it with or without a display connected. Before I probably have to delete the BIOS
Having and using a CH341A is a real powerful skill. It is worth buying it!

I am really loving this forum and have learnt so much already! Thanks to everyone thats helped me with my recent install/upgrade of a K1100M in my 2011 iMac 27" i7 3.4gHz.
Yesterday i purchased a faulty 2011 iMac 21.5" i5 2.5 gHz. The seller listed as a GPU issue.
The iMac turns on fine, loads up into Mac OSX fine, is useable for around 5 minutes then the screen just goes to a plain Grey/White colour. No flickering, lines on the screen or anything like that. Its always takes the same amount of time for the screen to do this. It's never more or less than 5 minutes.
I hope this is a GPU issue as i have just ordered a 1000M off the internet.

I can buy a wx4170 from a friend I know recently.He is a pure Windows user, and he doesn't have wx4170 BIOS, so he flashed with wx4150 BIOS. Windows recognizes that it's a wx4150.Now it's runing under win7 and win10, without any problems.
If I bought this wx4170, what do I need to do to make it run normally under Mac? Can I get brightness adjustment without installing the hardware backlight module,This is very important to me.
In addition, where can I see the backlight tutorial of raspberry pi? I have raspberry pi 3b, 1b and zero.
