UPDATE: i figured out that blugging and unplugging the minidisplay port makes The internal display work again in HS. So the machine is working, but can anyone help me to figure out how to avoid this?Hey guys, I tested my wx7100 on another imac 27 2010, using the opencore iso that Nick created worked perfectly scoring a decent 1200 in Unigen Heaven. was detected with all the 8GB of ram and all, but unfortunately i was testing the target display mode command and the screen became dark and didn't do much. So i restarted and now even if with the opencore inserted i see the apple logo and progression bar, when the OS starts the screen remain always black. I tried a PRAM reset and everything and with screen sharing the imac detect a wx7100 but doesn't show the 8gb of ram no more in "About this Mac". Can you help me to go back to were i was?
You can't just plug the card in. It won't work. You need to flash the BIOS. There is no way around that. Did you look at the first post? Everything is there.Hi everyone, I just upgraded my gpu to tested working Nvidia K2100m pulled from a Dell, but upon install I am getting no display signal and also my motherboard is only showing 2 LEDs, does this mean my GPU is bad or that the bios just isn’t compatible? I ordered a CH341A programmer and will flash the bios tomorrow to see if that has any effect.
Which VBIOS is on your WX7100? In my experience, AMD cards will only ever have a black screen without OpenCore when using the GOP VBIOS, and if using the EP2 VBIOS, a hardware level mod is required for any screen backlight. I strongly recommend the OpenCore implementation over soldering. Before booting OpenCore with my WX4130, I also had nothing but a black screen, but once OC booted, all fine.
Is this with the AppleGraphicsControl.kext installed? If so, this is normalNOTNICE (and anyone else interested)... I recently discovered something about this quite by accident. As I previously wrote a couple of days ago I was able to get my 2011 iMac 27" working with a WX7100 by following the updated Catalina Loader guide posted by @Ausdauersportler (Post #7323). After shutting the iMac down and removing the OC USB drive in preps to make the PolarisBoost mod, I started the iMac up without the OC USB drive inserted. To my surprise, the iMac started up without issue directly to my desktop. The screen remained black until a couple of seconds before the desktop appeared. Everything has been working normally in this fashion without the OC USB drive inserted after multiple restarts. [Note: I have not yet made the PolarisBoost mods for the sleep issue...and I can confirm the slowdown problem exists on my machine. My Valley score and FPS were cut in half after waking form sleep].
So, to make the long story above much shorter, I am able to successfully boot into the latest version of High Sierra without using OpenCore despite the fact I used the GOP VBIOS to flash my WX7100. Unfortunately, I don't have a full technical explanation to offer.

It is with the AppleGraphicsControl.kext installed using the file from your previous post (#5887). Thanks @highvoltage12v!Is this with the AppleGraphicsControl.kext installed? If so, this is normal
Seems that Ivy Bridge models are cutoff. On a first glance looks like a motherboard/CPU cutoff rather than GPU.
Thanks for this! I at least have hd3000 Airport and HDAudio working now, IOSurface was able to remain stock, no replacement needed. Going to test sleep now.
We have working sleep! I know that this is such an early beta and things will change, but at least it works!
What could this be? GPU or VRAM? This is a picture of a flshed GTX 780m, it worked for some time and at a sertain paint it just did this.

looks to me like bad vram perhaps.
I hope/presume you also cooled the vram chips on the backside, like I did with my GTX765M mods.. ?
I highly recommend cooling the vram on all chips if possible btw..
This post explains everything. https://forums.macrumors.com/thread....1596614/page-214?post=28339811#post-28339811
Plus, the poster, is super cool!
This is on the front page! We cannot mark everything on the first line in bold red letters - the page still has a lot of content and people simply must carefully read it, make a plan of the complete thing and write the plan probably down before ripping apart a piece of hardware. You have to make your own Lego alike plan for your own project!this must go on the front page effective immediately. thanks![]()
You can update the Lilu and Whatevergreen, but updating OpenCore within the Catalina loader is still a riddle not really solved.opencore say update is available...Can we update it or should we leave it?
Officially not, with a patched bootcamp yes. The internet search machine will show you the way.guys, is it possible to install windows 10 on iMac mid 2011? Using bootcamp.
My configuration: iMac mid 12.2, core i5 3.1 Ghz, 16GB, SSD 512Gb, GeForce 765M 2Gb.
Hello, but updating OpenCore within the Catalina loader is still a riddle not really solved.
If you want to test we are happy to hear the results![]()
Yes, this is no problem and well known. But we use for a good reason the Catalina Loader installed on an external device. If something is going wrong or you want to experiment on the settings you simply build a second SD card and have the fall back by hand.Hello,

I've been updating it regularly for a long time with these releases https://github.com/williambj1/OpenCore-Factory/releases
Good day / evening
PS: All on my EFI partition of my system SSD.
