Has anyone tried a Quadro K1100m or K2200m? I've got a K1100m in my Dell Precision M4800, I might swap it out for a K2200m and try the K1100m in my '11 27". I've hackintoshed my Precision before and the GPU worked without even having the web drivers installed, so I have high hopes for it working well in the iMac.
Did you ever try out that K2200m. I bought one by mistake and now I don't know how to flash it. Help please.

This is a Maxwell based card and there are no drivers within MacOS available. On this thread you will not find a BIOS to flash and there will be no in future. Read first post about Maxwell cards...

How can I flash a K2200m for an 2011 iMac ? Any roms that we know about? Help please.
Maxwell is the name of a Nvidia GPU chip family.

There is no gain to have a BIOS when you cannot drive the card from the current MacOS versions.

Please start reading this thread on page 1 and post #1 - you will find everything what is known and what is working!

Tested many times, 870M_Clevo_BR.rom has a startup screen and macOS also has brightness adjustment. Both macOS and windows TDP work at about 50W. TDP does not reach 100W at full load. The video memory is locked at 405mhz and there is no reason why. gtx880m test score is normal, can work with full load 115W TDP

@Ausdauersportler, can you help me? I did Volume root, replaced the kexts and AppleGVA.framework files, then used these comments in the terminal:

Nice let us know. If your wx4130 works.

Today I installed Catalina, used the new opencore.
Used the normal Polaris boost
Had to find how to fix the sleep. But I install all the kext. And it looks like all works like it should be.

I'll have to run the benchmark test. But all seems pretty .
And Catalina looks great.

Really impressive.

For my 2009 27 imac I perhaps also going to do a gpu update.
would just be a second machine. Don't need the horsepower but it would be nice to bring it to Catalina. So it can have a use.

not sure on what card I'm putting in.
Think about the 5100
or a 860/70/80 card.

but that's future.

happy user here, I'm discontinuing my journey here :)
next step is to hook up an eGPU 1070 ti and the switch to Big Sur. but I will continue to read the awesome progress here.

I'll be interested to see your results, but it is very likely they will both not work in the 2011. My WX4130 only works in my 2010 and many others including @highvoltage12v and @internetzel have tried extensively to get them to work in the 2011 models. The first page warns about this, but if you are able to get them to work, I will certainly be very excited.

I think on the first page. We should highlight that card in RED. It causes us nothing but grief in these forums. Especially, when you consider that there are so many other choices.

any ready solution?
No...I have a spare blower fan - I have removed my optical drive and was thinking of powering through the spare sata. However I probably won't need to do that - I made a makeshift shroud to better direct the ODD fan blower through the GPU heatsink fins - and reseated/pasted the heatsink on the GPU - performing better and boosting.

This is nice tho so a gtx 880m can work in the imac I thought the 880m was a Maxwell card tho or am I wrong about that

Hello do you have a gtx870m? Test to see how much the video memory and the core at full load can run at the highest frequency with full load TDP. I tested that the gtx870m video memory is locked at 405mhz and only 50W TDP

The test result of GTX880M is about 115W with your full load. The GTX870M test memory is fixed at 405mhz TDP 50W and cannot run at the highest frequency to reach 100W TDP with full load.

I may have to get one of those I didnt this it was kelper architecture thats good to now that it is how did u flash it did u flash it with the imac or did did it just work out of the box like some dell cards do thanks
The dell version of gtx880m should be able to be used directly, but there is no boot screen. The MSI version of gtx880m is not sure, and the Clevo version of gtx880m is definitely not good enough to flash vbios.
