Here is my card.
Actually I can't see any other differences with genuine WX4150.
i found one on ebay that could work in the 2011 imac. but im just not sure your card looks nice tho it really dose.

Catalina Update

Apple silently updated Catalina according to the this message, only minutes after I upgraded both my working platforms to the former 10.15.6 release..

You can download the full installer using the latest @dosdude1 patcher and savely install it. Checked it out on my WX4170 2011 system. Runs fine and fast after installing the well known @highvoltage12v sleep package. Of course I did not check the entire application world ....

The internal release code is 19G2021.

EDIT:
On the 2011 you might use the "install to this computer" option instead of making an USB installer. On the 2009/2010 this does not work since you cannot opt out the automatic installation of patches using this way. You will end up with a legacy video patch installed - nobody need this :)

Why you cannot do these tests on your own and report later? I can tell you that everything is working perfectly with my WX4170...and on my 780M system I have to use Firefox to use Netflix. It is not the BIOS limiting this, it is sometimes the lack of some codecs.

I can, obviously, but not right now...
I do have another iMac with a 780m with the same problem, need Chrome or Firefox to use Netflix. Questioning doesn't hurt, maybe someone was abble to answer my question...

You did not ask other to share knowledge, you asked other to do checks and tests. Hmm, this does obviously not hurt you, but others will have to spend their time on your problem. We need more contributions, not more questions - and especially not, if you already no the answer.

If there were any successful attempts with this card, it would be documented on the front page. We try to keep it up to date.

Cheers!

I did put "test and tell" under ", because i questioned also about friendly streaming, not to teardown the iMac to do tests...

It seems to be a HTML5 limitation with Safari probably caused by the fact that Apple does not support this on limited hardware (to avoid users complaining about bad performance or to cut of Nvidia). There is no Nvidia support for GPU offload of theses codecs in my opinion. But I am not an expert. As long as you have a workaround it will remain the same workaround for all Nvidia cards, whatever Valley performance these cards may offer.

Using the iMacPro1,1 spoofed iMac 2011 with an AMD card offering some cool hardware acceleration works really cool with Netflix, AppleTV, Prime and other DRM protected contents and providers using Safari!

Somebody wrote "future proof" when he published his BIOS versions for AMD cards...hope this guy will show up here, again!

hi.

A day later that I wanted to report that I have a working wx7100.
I had some struggle with opencore. After I rebooted to windows and did my usual routine, reboot to Mac OS with the bootcamp option So the internal boot picker was of course not picking opecore, so blackscreen.

I was smart enough to set up opencore as default boot drive, b4 I replaced the GPU.
But my move to change it in windows made it a drama.
I used the GPU form my iMac 2009 to set opencore again. Because I couldn't get in. But I managed.

as said i orderd a WX7100. 00D the same as badbiscuit.
and i can happy report that i have a working imac with the WX7100 inside.
and that this Imac is now done in terms of big upgrade's.

it started as a i5 imac with 4GB of RAM.

and now. well its a Imac PRO.

I upgraded this imac to
i7 2600
32gb of RAM
and now the WX7100.

here are picture's of the card. and the about system.
i also back-up the BIOS that came on the card.

so another suc6 story with the WX7100 to add to the list.

i have to say, i free hang the card when i got it to test the iMac short to see if the card works or not.
i heard the Apple chime so. that confinced me enough to order cool paste (K5 and MX-4) and put the wx7100 in side.
it was pretty nerf werking. but when i saw opencore boot screen i was full of joy.
And when Mac os booted up. I was even more happy

now i have to update to Catalina.
And setup the new opencore Ausdauersportler posted.

Hi my friends,
I´m checking back. In resume i ordered k1100m. I flashed the card via ssh thanks to xanderon method.
The first boot showed artifacts in the screen that shows no system installed (imgs attached)
I went over to check if the board components were touching the heatsink metal, and assembled again.
The second and subsequent boots were black. Then i tried to flash again the board to see if it was still there, but showed "detecting gpu failed" so i guess its fried.

Dont´t want to derail your posts, but anyone here have a spare flashed board willing to sell?
Any luck with your GPU card. I've the same problem though I'm not sure whether my GPU is fried.

Yeah I did that and I heard the apple chime again. But not change still the same black screen. I'm stuck I'm not sure how to find out whether the GPU card is working or dead. any thoughts?

Did you hold down the Alt/Option key when you hear the chime? Also, double check all of your LCD cables.

I did the PRAM reset combinations like suggested and I heard the chime again. Do I have to hold the Alt/Option after I hear the 2nd chime. I removed the LCD all 4 connections where good. I switched on the imac after removing the LCD and powered it on. LED 1,2 & 3 are lit, the 3rd led is for the GPU right? the 4th LED is off because the LCD is removed. I'm stumped.

Turn off the iMac. Start it again. When you hear the chime, hold the Alt/Option key until you see the boot selector. The 4th LED is for the LCD, that is correct.

from ifixed
LED 1 - Indicates that the trickle voltage from the power supply is detected by the main logic board. This LED will remain ON while the iMac is connected to the AC power. The LED will remain on even when the computer has been shut down or put to sleep. The LED will turn off only if the AC power is disconnected or the power supply is faulty.

LED 2 - Indicates that the main logic board has detected proper power from the power supply when the computer is turned on. This LED will be ON when the computer is turned on and the power supply is working correctly.

LED 3 - Indicates that the computer and the video card are communicating. This LED will be ON when the computer is communicating properly with the video card. If LEDs 1 and 2 are ON and you heard the startup sound, but LED 3 is OFF, then the video card might be installed incorrectly or need replacement.

LED 4 - Indicates that the computer and the LCD display panel are communicating. This LED will be ON when the computer is turned on and video signal is being generated. If the LED is ON and there is no image on the LCD display panel, the LCD display panel or inverter might be installed incorrectly or need replacement.

with my WX7100 the 3 LED is not on, but i have the LCD working.
correct me if im wrong, but i don't think that the imac will show the 3dr led with aftermarket GPU's
(i be wrong, pleas correct me. but in case of the WX7100 its not)

I've connected the LCD again and booted it without closing the LCD completely. I was able to see through the gap and the 4th led is not lighting up even after connecting the LCD screen. It means the GPU is not communicating properly with the Display (I found the LED status information in this forum).
