Just out of love to study the upgrade of imac2011 graphics card, I bought a mining machine at a high price and removed these cards from the mining machine and researched. My research just wants to tell you that for imac2011, in addition to WX7100, 5500XT 8G can be used, and it is perfect in every way, full-featured and powerful. It was hard for most people to own this card, before ETH crashed. I'm just an avid lover, don't speculate maliciously on me.
Another zero information post - and I do not speculate, I am just posting facts.

This thread is about sharing research results, not advertising own (and non existing) products.

I'll post all the details after all the research is done, don't worry. After all, I have not yet successfully entered the macos system. The reason why I released the progress in advance is just that I hope everyone can share my joy and provide me with some guidance.
Sorry, but if you refuse to share any information about the mods you made and problems you have how do you exactly believe someone would be able to help based on zero information at all? We have not even seen a vBIOS uploaded.

So far we got a bunch of pictures and now - for the first time - the proof that you failed to boot into macOS. So all your efforts failed and nevertheless you are still writing about the future supply line (merchants) and got even backup by another new user posting hot air here, too.

Can we come back to share real information, here?

wait for my good news. As for vbios, this card does not need to modify vbios, all functions can be achieved by the graphics card itself. And the vbios of 5500xt is encrypted, no one can modify the vbios, so there is no need to upload it.

I have deleted the relevant parts, please calm down, any research will not be very smooth, the ancestors saw hope and overcome difficulties to constantly improve this post, and the same is true for our younger generation. wait for my good news. So we are back to zero information posts and hiding and clouding...

I do not know how to translate sharing to your language, possibly there is no translation that would make any sense to you.

P.S.:
The vBIOS is not encrypted, it contains just a digital signature. So modifications are possible. Using those turns out to be difficult.

You need to get rid of the dosdude1 graphics graphics driver patches, I think.
hello everyone, i updated my imac with a k1000m 2gb, i flashed this rom, it seemed to work because it could be seen but even after redoing opencore it seems as if it has no drivers and the bar is not seen, it jerks
and when i turn it on i noticed that it does not immediately turn white, after a while white and immediately black of opencore

Thanks too helpme
good morning , I tried to reinstall Big Sur but it gives the same problem , with high sierra it works perfectly even the brightness with OpenCore, only that the programs I have to use require at least Catalina, I tried with Catalina loader but there are some problems: if I turn it on normally I don't see anything , only if I press alt and select the disk, I did a benchmark and I got this result it seems very low for 2gb but it runs well the operating system unlike Big Sur that freezes.
one thing i don't understand and with other Nvidia k it never did is at power on it doesn't turn white right away it stays black and after 15 seconds it turns white . with Catalina loader it stays black only if i press alt. hope you can help me thank you very much, (i saw in the first post the Nvidia k1000m has 2 bios i used nikey's one)
I try to flash other bios in the first page but with this open core not work, only catalina loader with no brightness
I try to install kext to enable intel quick sync with guide in this forum but on mac video x converter no work

Hi all. Thank you so much for this thread.

I had a go at this using my 2011 27" iMac and was aiming to use the USB drive flash method from this post.

I have apparently successfully installed the new GPU (Nvidia K2100m, from ebay) and reassembled.
The machine boots High Sierra and all seems to be working fine. It also drives an external display via the mini displayport socket, as I tested before putting the screen back on.

However, I have not been able to get the USB flash process to work. The problem seems to be that the mac will not boot from the USB drive. (I am testing this by pinging the machine over ethernet, no ping response although the mac is present on the network.)

Any help on this would be hugely appreciated as I'd love to get the functionality working. I have tried:

- Two different USB sticks (both successfully boot to linux on a seperate macbook pro, I also tested one of these boot the imac before I took it apart for the upgrade. I recorded that process - turn on, hold option, wait 15s, press tab to choose the USB drive, wait 60s for boot.)

- With and without the SSD connected (i.e. without holding option) - no improvement.

- I've tried resetting the NVRAM as well (the keyboard is working fine so it's not a general USB issue.)

Does anyone have any hints how I can get this to work? Is it likely I've broken something? Any way to check if the linux boot has worked? (I'm dreading the idea of either disassembling again for seperate flash, or the Windows install... they seem pretty hard work.)

Many thanks for any help with this,
Gavin

we need made new main bios for all imacs 21,27 2009-11 with support GOP bootscreen.
thats will be very cool!

kepler its too bored for now.

its sounds!

The performance difference between the wx7100 and 780m is truly staggering. I used a 780m to play cod warzone for about a year and could barely play at 720p, this wx7100 runs it at 1440 at 80+ FPS no problem.

Here is what I would do: backup if needed, 3x pram reset, install High Sierra from scratch, you should have a working display with the flashed Kepler card, apply all macOS updates, download OpenCore -0.4.3 TUI , configure SMBIOS as moderate, install OC on your hard drive/ssd, reset PRAM 3X again, you should have the OpenCore picker, boot HS. Download the Catalina Installer from the Apple website, start the Catalina Installation from High Sierra. Edit: install already in High Sierra Macs Fan Control as soon as possible

hello thank you very much for answering me, then reset 3x I have done them many times between the various installations, I flashed the rom of nikkey and with open core it does not give problems beyond all those listed before, now trying with the other of nick opencore it does not work with either nvidia kepler in developer setting or none, it doesn't finish booting. which flash to proceed with the guide you told me?

I just ran the step by step guide but even with this version it remains blocked so, it may be because in the developer setting I have selected the type of gpu nvidia kepler? can it be the rom nick and I have to put that of nikkey back? i was starting high sierra just formatted

you are booting using open core, you need the grey boot screen. Do a PRAM reset, then press Option+Command+R - this will start Internet recovery - if you don't have a bootable High Sierra usb stick - ;)

i had just formatted it from usb and i used opencore you told me, now i try to format it and redo everything

no open core for now - build and install open core only after High Sierra is completely installed and updated, - this is "from scratch"
ok sorry but the translator didn't make me understand, so open core i just build without installing it and then i install catalina from high sierra normally?

i did all the updates, installed opencore offline tui , and reset x3, opencore is still black mode and stops towards the end of loading
Still High Sierra or did you start the Catalina Installer already? What happens if you reset PRAM and press the Option key on reboot?

After a successful installation of Monterey on my 2009 iMac with the m6100, I've decided to upgrade the current 120GB SSD to a 500GB version. I first created a new OpenCore and installed it on the 500GB drive, then installed it in the machine in place of the 120GB version. Used my Monterey bootable USB that I had from my initial OS install. Everything worked fine, but the iMac will only boot from my Recovery CD.

Once the Recovery CD kicks in, I've tried selecting the EFI-Boot drive but the system does not boot up. If I select the 500GB SSD, it boots into Monterey and runs fine. Once it boots up, I tried several times to install a new OC on the SSD, but I end up with the same results - no boot unless the Recovery CD is first booted up.

After my initial steps failed, I tried cloning the 120GB to the 500GB using SuperDuper! and Carbon Copy Cloner. Both failed and from what I've read it might be due to changes Apple made in Big Sur and Monterey.

I'm guessing I've missed an important step and hoping someone here can help. I've been working on this all morning without any progress.

Any help will be much appreciated!

both with high sierra and now they managed to install and run catalina with opencore from high sierra as I had previously told me, but thanks to nikkey's rom with that nick did not finish loading. there remains the problem of fps and low score and the intel quick sync not working, try this but no work
