Mine is the MXIC MX 25L6406E M2I-12GF. I made a mistake when dumping my bootrom. The chip had some glue on it from the audio cable (also it is a very small chip and I could hardly see the letters on it) and I thought it said 25L6408E. (i.e. I thought the six was an 8). So when AsProgrammer showed the list of possible chips and I had to select one, I chose the 25L6408E. And this is the bootrom I have. Is that problem?
I don’t know. If you don’t mind (see below why), you can send me the dumped bootrom via direct message.
In any case if someone has the same chip as mine on a 12.1 imac I would appreciate to send me copy of his bootrom. It wouldn't hurt trying flashing it and see if it revives my iMac.
Most of us would be reluctant to send you a copy of iMac bootrom. It contains the iMac serial number, and Apple/iCloud services depend on it. (Otherwise we could just create modded bootroms for the 5 iMac models this thread is about and facilitate the whole process…)

I'm sorry, I've looked at the messages on page 1 and I can't find the solution....

With the screen off, the Imac stays in a loop with the sound on and no key combination works.
I can't install patches or anything because the screen is off and I can't connect an external monitor either....

I'm a little desperate and I don't know what to do... I would appreciate any advice ¡

By the way, I'll leave the stl files here so I don't have to cut or modify the x-bracket.

Thanks!
Post 1 and some linked posts are full of such advices! And yes, it is long and it takes time to read and study.
In all likelihood you won’t have display output until you flash a proper VBIOS (that’s in post 1). If you have consecutive cut-off chimes, there is likely a hardware problem.
Again, read post 1 on how to flash the VBIOS via remote access. (It is very likely that you’ll have to disconnect all internal drives. If those consecutive chimes persist after that, you have a hardware problem.)

I have just send you a pm with my oem bootrom and the modded bootrom.

I'm still trying...
I can't get into the route, am I typing something wrong?
I have copied the 6 folders directly to the root of the usb but I don't know what is the problem…
Please, help me…

You really just need to follow instructions and write Unix-like terminal commands properly. Or get some local help...
I have finally managed to install the vbios¡¡¡

I have used the K3100M BFR rom (my chip are Hynix BFR), then I have reset pram but the screen is still black and any connected monitor does not work.
How do I install the patch if it doesn't turn on the screen by holding down the alt key?

thanks¡

The patch can be run on another working machine, including the one you are trying to upgrade with its stock GPU.
The above statement is to encourage you read the document about OCLP and post 1, not to encourage you raise another question.

Personally, I think the symptom you are facing indicate a hardware issue. A properly flashed K3100m is assumed to function natively in High Sierra, both boot screen and brightness control should work without any patches.

Hi! need some help here please, got my imac 27" 2009 upgraded with Quadro K610M (patched) and after building and booting Big Sur installer with Opencore Legacy getting black screen before installer menu, how can i fix it??

Hello! this is my first post. I did read a lot of the thread and did a search but can't find a similar problem, maybe some of you can help. I installed a Geforce GTX 675MX 4GB on My Imac mis 2011 27". I works perfect, with boot screen, and everything (has Mac Bios), but I can´t get a second monitor working. I have an Elgato dock which has VGA output wich works in my MBP, but doesn´t work on the Imac (Dock´s USB ports does), neither an Thunderbolt to VGA adapter (also works on MBP). Any idea?

No VGA support! You need a display with HDMI or miniDP or DP and an active connector. The port closer to USB will work, the other one can be used for TB, only.

As usual, first post -> supported cards -> NVIDIA -> known issuse -> black screen.

If you guys read more before modding it could be much more easy.

sorry if it's a language problem, but I stated everything is ok minus second monitor... I'm aware of the old black screen problem, but this is different IMO

One more question: Elgato Dock 2 has HDMI output, but no signal is present in the monitor I have (previously I was using a HDMI to VGA adapter with a different monitor). I ordered a MiniDv to HDMI adapter to check if it works... fingers crossed...

Yes, finger crossed!
Not all cards support a 2nd display using the Legato TB2 dock. But at least one external displays works in all cases.

Hi, I have an iMac (27 inch, Mid 2010) iMac11,3, I'm using High Sierra and I want to upgrade the software, the current video card is HD 5750 1GB, I want to replace my video card with w6170m, would it be the right choice? Or what would your suggestion be? Thank you for your answer.

Btw noticed thats not my problem, got image on alt / boot menu, did try edit on config.plist with agdpmod=vit9696 and still no image, on boot menu after going on big sur install installation bar loads, mouse cursor blinks and then image gone forever

Thanks! having hard time in how to edit config.plist to edit that parameter, any app to easy this task?
How about just downloading OCLP and just installing OpenCore automatically? You have literally missed everything while reading the documentation?

You need a bigger (2011) heat sink as noted on the first post within the tables of supported cards. It is a fast card, power hungry. Literally all cards listed will run on your iMac - it is your choice.
