How about just downloading OCLP and just installing OpenCore automatically? You have literally missed everything while reading the documentation?
thats what im trying, im using OCLP and not working, added agdpmod=vit9696 on config.plist in efi partition and still not working, i been reading this thread for several hours already..

Jesus, OCLP creates correct configurations automatically! There is absolutely no need to add this value manually. I spent several hours on the docs years ago before I ordered my first GPU. You can do this the other way around, a lot of ways will lead to Rom eventually.

Go back to High Sierra, leave OCLP installed. If this happens with all macOS version we found another half dead NVIDIA GPU. macOS uses the GPU really heavily on the desktop. The OCLP booting and the verbose mode is not functionality test. Guess even this is part of the known issues.

Been testing for some hours on Capitan and all seems fine, building Monterey OPCL build just to check, thanks for reply

Yes, finger crossed!
Not all cards support a 2nd display using the Legato TB2 dock. But at least one external displays works in all cases.
the HDMI adapter doesn´t work either. weird as it seems there are people who made it work (even with VGA as it seems with the OP)... Any idea?

Disconnect the camera/BT cable (check the known issues with NVIDIA cards on the first post and follow the links) and retry.
Hello,

Is this the camera/BT-connector (see below)? I tried to install the K2000m but still got the problem that only one led is lighting up despite having this disconnected...

About macOS Ventura support

A few minutes ago Apple finally released macOS Ventura aka 13.0 (22A380). Under the shiny cover a lot of things have been changed. I will not repeat what @khronokernel already posted on Github, but I can announce that our iMacs are currently not supported by the OCLP (only 2012+ systems as of now), nevertheless Ventura will work with the brand new OCLP 0.5.0 release. Most annoying issue is the newly necessary AVX2 support within the CPU (Haswell+, i.e. Intel Late 2013 CPU). Because we cannot upgrade the CPU we rely now on a lot of patches.

snip

Very promising (to a layman, anyway) , I didn't think it would even boot when I saw official support was 2012+

The item shown in that link is very weird to me, as I have already purchased the whole LCD driver kit. There are 2 kinds of such kits available. The basic kit is 25$ (VGA + HDMI), the luxury kit (DP + HDMI + USB-C) is 75$.
Why develop something that has already been available commercially at much cheaper price?
With this you can use the built-in speakers and power supply, so its just a neater package compared to regular driver kits imo.

Hi all, it's been a time when I upgraded my iMac 21.5" 2010 with a new graphics card, CPU, RAM and SSD.

Current specs are:
- iMac 21.5" mid-2010 (iMac11,2)
- CPU: i7-860S 4x2.53 GHz
- SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 1TB
- RAM: 16GB
- GPU: NVIDIA Quadro K2100M 2GB by Nick[D]vB
- OS: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Back in early 2021, I used an early version of OCLP (0.1.2) in order to get the K2100M working with brightness control support and so on. I installed OCLP to the EFI partition along with mac OS 10.13 High Sierra since it suited all my needs back then.

Now I would like to upgrade the OS to a more recent version, 10.14 Mojave, 10.15 Catalina or even 11 Big Sur (from what I read, Monterey or Ventura are not 100% supported). Which one would you prefer with this configuration?

Second question, how to proceed: Can I just use current OCLP (0.5.1) and install the newer OS over the current installation, like if it was a regular update?

Thanks in advance :)

I did an in place upgrade from Monterey to Ventura after updating OCLP with little issue. Coming from High Sierra YMMV.
Do a Time Machine backup and also create a USB installer for your target version of macOS before attempting it.
Not a bad idea to also have a High Sierra USB installer also in case.
Remember that you will need to install the Root patch after install to get the graphics working. (Boot in safe mode if you get stuck with a loading bar about half way)
If you have not upgraded your WIFI / BT card, Don't go past Big Sur. Big Sur does NOT need to the root patch for the GPU so this may be the easiest to update to.

This will surely be an odd question, but since I have an spare M5100 that I want to sell...

If I wanted to reverse the process and flash it to its original vBios, could I do that on an HP/Dell laptop using the grml linux posted here, or does it need to be done on the iMac? The process of swapping cards should be way easier there than taking down a perfectly working modified iMac.

EDIT: Though I guess it needs to be said that said M5100 is a red Dell model, so I have no idea if they're compatible or not.

Please help anyone
i have imac 2010 with amd firepro s7100x;on mac os this card runs fine, but i install win10 as secondary system, and it lags a lot(especialy in games)It have”microsoft basic display adapter” driver;and i cant install new drivers from amd site(it give me eror while installing)

If the HP/Dell Laptop can boot with the M5100, you can use either Windows or Linux.
There are HP USDT computer which has MXM slot also.
Assembling the M5100 to a laptop is more time consuming than assembling it to the iMac, I think.

Thank you for your reply. I don't plan to update the wi-fi card for now, so I will try Big Sur first.

Hi everybody, I have a Imac 27" 2009 A1312 core i5. I replaced the GPU with a K3100m and CPU with a i7 860, since then I have Black screen, even if I put back the old GPU and old CPU. With the k3100m in, and the linux usb boot, I can see the k3100M and flash it, but always a black screen :(

Does someone know what I can test ? I can't see any diagnostic leds on the 2009 :/

LED: use a mirror to spot them from the tiny air holes in the bottom
black screen late 2009 + NVIDIA after PRAM reset: first post -> known issues (you could have found also a recipe how to prepare in advance to avoid the problem)
