You weren't charged the moment they shipped out you iMac? that's weird.
It’s not weird. It’s just part of the randomness that you see if you look at credit card charges for pre-orders.

It really is one of the worst things to try to use for working out what is going on behind the scenes.

I suspect that the person you quoted will see the charge in the next couple of days, very likely going straight as a confirmed payment.

Mid Tier Blue iMac with numeric keyboard ordered right when the store went up. Currently showing Shanghai with some of you guys on its way to the Philadelphia area. Shipping status changed to Friday before noon!

Has anyone had their Apple Store orders page come back online yet? Mine has been unavailable for around 16 hours now. Payment was taken two days ago (UK, Green iMac with 1TB/16GB) so I had hoped to see news of tracking info by now.

I’m the same - also in the UK. I’m going for the same config, only in Orange! Payment showing as pending. Also ordered a blue with a standard config that payment hasn’t been taken yet.

No, i can't see my orders neither in the app, nor online. Card has been charged this Friday, still 'processing' status until it went offline.. ? (Hungary)

Exactly the same for me. Haven’t seen any news about the ordering status system going down anywhere… maybe it’s only newsworthy to us! Would have thought it would be fixed by now. I’m day dreaming about it coming back online to tell me my new iMac is arriving tomorrow! (Or perhaps Friday would do!)

My order page went from processing back to order placed and delivery date 28 may to 2-3 weeks. I checked just now and it went back again to delivery 28 may and order processing. Ordered silver iMac 16/1tb config with order confirm at 14:05 on 30 April (Netherlands). Seems like the order status page is having a very hard time. Still crossing fingers it will jump to 21 may at some point haha

So I’ve found an M1 IMac 24 for £1365… here’s the kicker, it’s the 8gb ram with 512gb storage… which is cheaper than the order I made for the 256gb/8gb ram I bought from apple. It also says delivery within 6 days. Only thing is it’s 8gb ram and the 16gb with trackpad I ordered is scheduled for 22nd June. Is it worth getting the cheaper + more storage version for considerably less than the 16gb ram with 256gb storage and trackpad that I paid 1600 for?

Good to see the system is back functioning again; my order has returned to "preparing to ship". Is there any chance it could go from "preparing to ship" to "in my hands" in 5 days? I don't know the history of these things. I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for the likelihood that mine will be arriving later in my estimated delivery window.

Yes it definitely could get to you in 5 days. Many of the ones shipped in the past few days are still sitting in Shanghai "at local facility." If yours shipped today, it may still end up on the same flight / flights out as those recently shipped. Once it leaves China the progress is usually very fast. The bottleneck is flights out of Shanghai.

Once shipped you can use flight trackers to get a sense of potential flights (assuming Apple doesn't charter like they did during the M1 Macbook pro shipping debacle). For example Fedex: https://flightaware.com/live/fleet/FDX

Owners of the new 2021 iMac M1 those of us not fortunate enough to buy one want to see pictures, pictures, and more pictures! We also desire screenshots, screenshots, and more screenshots!

If you have a YouTube account, a post of you unboxing would be cool. Remember this is the first iMac with the M1 chip. Your unboxing will make YouTube history!

Personally I would prefer the 16GB over the added storage

Sadly the UPS website is a little less detailed with tracking…

EDIT: Thanks for the advice the app definitely had more info!
