I'm having the same problem. The FedEx person said it a paperwork issue and nothing to with COVID.. Talked to Apple Store and that said the it is scheduled between 21-27, so that can not do anything until the 28...

2021 iMac order thread

Initial SetUp. I tried migration assistant and it messaged that it would take 64 hours!! So I cancelled on both devices, restarted iMac, and used SetUp which was almost instantaneous in transferring everything. I had to sign in to a couple of things, like iMessage and Photos to get it all over, but that was really fast too, once my credentials/fingerprint was entered.
Same here. Mine departed Oakland last night which means the next step is where it get sorted for delivery, but I have no idea if someone should stay home on Monday or Tuesday. I guess I should hope they leave a slip and I can pick it up later. It’s just frustrating because if I have to pick it up I might as well have just bought it at an Apple Store.
How is everyone getting there data to there iMac. I have a time machine backup for the last week. Also have a Carbon Copy cloner clone of my old drive. Which is faster? Have all my documents and photos on a external drive… Also thinking of settling it up as new and manually set everything up..
Any suggestion?

I used the Time Machine back-up route. I performed a brand new Time Machine back-up from the old iMac immediately before the migration. That TM copy took 2 hours and my migration to the new iMac took around 2 hours ... that was using my old 4200 rpm HD and moving around 200 GB each way. Definitely should have bought an SSD!
Anyone else find the iMac WAY heavier than expected? The way YouTube reviewers were talking about it made it sound ridiculously light, one even said it felt the same as lifting up their 12.9" iPad wtf lol
Honestly I was shocked how light it was. Not iPad light but I held it with one hand while moving stuff around on my desk and I not young.

You can have Apple initiate a shipping investigation. It wont start until monday.... But mine is stuck in Memphis, the excuses ran from the original fedex rep saying its the bad weather, then i was told by another rep that the last rep was wrong and its because of the amount of packages, and now im told by another rep its due to customs clearance and i need to call monday to clear it up. 2 days to get from China to Memphis and its been sitting in memphis for 7 days now...even scanned every day in memphis until the 20th and then it disappeared and gives no delivery date...just says pending.
I’m a young & fit hockey player and I almost dropped it because I was expecting it to weigh about half of what it does ? kind of glad though because the way they described it I imagined it almost feeling “cheap” & toy-like which it doesn’t at all
This has to be sarcasm I just refuse to believe its real lol. There can be a lot of words used to describe the new iMac and heavy is not one of them. it's probably the lightest computer I've ever held outside of my MacBook Air lol

Several reviewers casually grabbed it and lifted it with one hand as if it were a toy while saying it weighs the same as an iPad lol, I’m not saying it’s too heavy at all but I don’t think it weighs any less than it looks. They all seemed shocked that such a thin computer was so light, I was expecting it to almost feel cheap
Sorry to see your still dealing with this ********. I hope come Monday you and everyone else who is having this issue get it solved and get your iMacs moving and on their way to you.
Seeing as I also had FedEx as a shipper and my iMac also was in Memphis all week I wonder why I got my iMac with no issues but there was issues with yours and others? it just doesn't make any sense to me.
Seems like some flights may have made it out in time and others were stuck due to weather ?
I don't know I don't think I buy that excuse. my iMac didn't leave Memphis till late afternoon on Thursday. If it was a weather delay why wouldn't FedEx or Apple just come out and say that? and I mean if it was just a weather delay people should be seeing movement with their iMacs by now surely?
if you go to shipment facts and then google your master tracking number, then track your master tracking number and click shipment facts, then you will see clearance detail link (that does not show up on your original tracking) that you need to click. When you get to the next page, type in your master tracking number in the search, it should tell you the status of your customs...shows customs release was received for my package late Friday.
