Did anyone opt in for apple care on the iMac? When I got my MBA a few years ago I got it and never had to use it thankfully. I don't know if it's worth it for the iMac? does it cover all the color matched accessories as well? like the keyboard, mouse, trackpad??
I did. we never used it on our 2011 iMacs but I have used it several times on phones and watches. (coulda used it on a HomePod but didn't buy it for that!)

and it should include the accessories. I know if you have a pencil for your iPad the pencil is covered. so I'm pretty sure the accessories are included for the iMac!

Sad to report that mine has been in departed Oakland status since Friday night. My guess is that arrived in my local fedex center Friday night, but they don’t update things over the weekend. Hopefully I wake up to an out for delivery notice tomorrow morning.
I’m hoping for this too ??

A few things I've noticed:

1. The white bezel is pleasant. It is not distracting at all, and it is nice to look at when the sun is shining behind it.

2. Very quiet. I have not heard the fans once, even when I knew I was doing semi-intense tasks.

3. Webcam is great quality. Far exceeds any other webcam I've experienced on a Mac.

4. macOS seems to struggle to turn on night mode automatically. I presumed it's trigger was the sunset, but mine remained in light mode until I forced it to switch about an hour after sunset. This might just be a day one thing.

It's a Big Sur thing. I noticed that it doesn't switch if you're actively using the computer. Go make a coffee, come back and it will have switched theme

Mine has just been delivered, well ahead of the original 27th May-3 June window (and the 3 June date stated on the Apple store app).

Shame I’m at work for the next few hours.

Woohoo status changed from processing to preparing to ship! Yellow with a delivery date 9 June to Norway. Ordered 15 minutes after preorder release. How long are they usually “preparing to ship”?

Nice! Hopes up here as my estimated day is 14th June. It just might come earlier. Who knows.
Mine is estimated for delivery the same day, apple says it'll be despatched on the 8th June.. I'm hoping it comes earlier though, it's great to see everyone is enjoying their new iMacs!

Good to see movement on the June orders!

Hoping to see the same for mine soon. 16/512 silver, June 9 - 16 still stuck on processing.

I hope this isn’t the case for everyone else who got the update that their package received international shipment release yesterday, but as of this morning mine is still sitting in Memphis (last scanned at 12:49PM). Despite a supposed new delivery date of 12PM today. I wonder what the new excuse will be, if not customs being the issue anymore?

Delays could happen after passing import scan: weather, lack of cargo flights, positive infection of a crew member, and warehouse backlog of pallet queue.

All of which I’m fine with, what irks me at this point is the lack of transparency and updates. If it’s delayed for any reason, then it seems like the least that could be done is to update the delivery date? But instead it’ll say “by 12:00PM” until 12PM and then shift to “by end of day” until midnight and then back into pending delivery.

I understand your frustration - I had the same issue with my iPhone 12 Pro order last year after pre-ordering, pre-paying and not receiving it on launch day while everyone else did.

Remember, Apple is very smart - they gave you a shipping estimated range of dates.

My M1 iMac was given 5/21-5/27 so it gives Apple a range of days to deliver.

There is NO guarantee that you will even receive it within the range of dates as they put the "due to the pandemic" disclaimer....

Yeah, I get the Apple CYA date range, but when the shipper actually gives you a "Scheduled" delivery date, and you plan on that, and then it changes with a bunch of nonsense excuses, and then changes the Scheduled" delivery date again, and now again possibly...THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

Any update today @quietkaos ? Did you get an "Out for Delivery" notice? Here'e hoping!
