2021 iMac order thread

he hates the bezel color

the back is GORGEOS!

the aluminum light blue is OK but the blue on the bezel is like a baby boy's bedroom color.

I'll get some pics once he gets his old one off the desk.

so far no issues with the computer itself but he hasn't had it long enough to say (I'm saying he's going to love that he doesn't have to restart it constantly like his 2011 that kept losing connection with the mouse and the only way to get it back was to restart it.

only issue is his messages aren't syncing over for some reason? tries all the tricks and nothing?????

Is he syncing messages with iCloud?

My purple iMac is in Korea now with UPS! Does anyone know where it goes after that? I’m in BC, Canada, so West coast.

It'll go through Alaska and then various US UPS facilities before going to Vancouver (and sometimes it'll go through Calgary first).

yes. and we unchecked and rechecked per what I found... email and phone numbers are correct...

I unboxed my iMac tonight and it is a very nice machine. One thing I noticed is that my Fans create some sort of buzzing noise. So I will return it tomorrow to Apple. It could have been so good…

Spoke with Apple they will exchange it. But the new delivery date is august 3rd. Really? I will cancel it and wait for the big iMac.

Oh, bummer. That's the 'advantage' of growing up and listening to the rock bands of the '60s ... my hearing is shot. I get buzzing all the time.

Another advantage: I ordered the base model ... 1/2 the number of fans! That is weird ... your sound. Something seems to be impeding the air, or in the flow channel.

Another advantage: I ordered the base model ... 1/2 the number of fans! That is weird ... your sound. Something seems to be impeding the air, or in the flow channel.

Make sure you have removed the plastic tape around the edges of the iMac - that plastic tape blocks the sound and fan holes....

My base iMac is so quiet without any fan noise and stays ice cold - just like the base M1 Mini.

Thank you for posting. Pretty amazing that the packing material for the computer weighs twice what is packed in it.

Same for me. The blue back and stand looked amazing. The chin not. The should have done the chin in Aluminium (same color as stand). As for now I think the silver one is the better choice.

UPS collected my iMac and now it’s on the way back to Apple. So let’s hope the 27“ replacement is not so far away.

UPS collected my iMac and now it’s on the way back to Apple. So let’s hope the 27“ replacement is not so far away.

I am thinking the chin must be larger on the 27" ?? ... because of the greater cooling requirements with the more powerful M chips. Need to somehow have a much bigger fan enclosed in the larger chin ... I think the wattage could be double or triple the 24"?? I guess I could always trade up to the 27 inch if it isn't too noisy.

You were right! It’s in Anchorage now. It’s annoying to think it’s going to fly over me and not stop here in Vancouver lol.

Not sure if anyone remarked this yet, but how heavy is that box?! I didn't weigh it but its not far off the weight of the iMac itself, if not more...

I agree. I think it actually is more than the computer itself. It is definitely a very constructed box! Going to keep it in case I ever sell this to upgrade later.

Congrats on your iMac arriving today. Mine came yesterday and I was up till 4AM migrating data from my old iMac and setting things up!
