Not sure if anyone remarked this yet, but how heavy is that box?!
The packaging is twice the weight of the system. Almost 30 pounds total, iMac is about 8.

Pretty much ... yes, for me, as much as I can tell.Do the highlight colors on Big Sur match the new iMac colors? Might be fun to color match it green when my green iMac arrives. I'm still on Catalina and they definitely don't match.
Maybe a smallish hummingbird got in there!Mmh it's like a chirp, might be a faulty ball bearing
No updates, still in "Processing." I'm beginning to think Apple won't make their delivery window.

Once the honeymoon is over, Apple is going to get some grief about this. What were they thinking. The box and the shipping probably adds at least $100 to the cost. The packaging is twice the weight of the system. Almost 30 pounds total, iMac is about 8.
Huh, strange… Mine got thru without any problem. Good luck noblesse.UPS strikes again! My package now says "Check back for delivery date" and seems to be stuck in customs/clearance even though it arrived in Canada a couple of days ago.
Good luck for the delivery! No updates, still in "Processing." I'm beginning to think Apple won't make their delivery window.

I am aggrieved because I need to ship one outside the USA, and the cost of shipping an additional 20 lbs of packaging is about the same as buying a ticket and throwing it in a suitcase enclosed in bubblewrap. I just hate all the crap of air travel these days.
I know it’s dependent on a lot of factors but I personally find it disappointing that Apple store online orders have a lag time right now of several weeks while Amazon and Best Buy can deliver in a few days
Yes!In most instances, I think it best to buy where you can find the stock. If Apple are slowest with the model you (or anyone else) wants, and it can be found elsewhere faster, then buy from there instead of Apple. It doesn't make any difference to the product, warranty or support.
Yes. The only caveat is if, like me, you wish to do a trade-in ... then I'm sticking with Apple either way. I know you can sell a machine yourself or through eBay but I like Apple's recycling program.Yes!
If you want a stock iMac, look at Best Buy, Microcenter, Amazon, etc..
If you want a CTO/BTO iMac (different keyboard, trackpad, ethernet, 2TB) then wait for an Apple.com order like we all did (3-4 weeks) for our semi custom configured iMac...
Did you trade in using Apple.com Phobio service or did you walk into an Apple store ?Yes. The only caveat is if, like me, you wish to do a trade-in ... then I'm sticking with Apple either way. I know you can sell a machine yourself or through eBay but I like Apple's recycling program.
Is that what they call the on-line method for the Apple Trade In ... Phobio service? It just said Apple Trade In on the emails. When I was purchasing the machines they had the selection option for a trade in. Selected that, bought the M1 mini and traded in my previous mini. They sent a box and I FedEx'd the old mini back ... they then credited my Apple account. I did the same for my old iMac.Did you trade in using Apple.com Phobio service or did you walk into an Apple store ?
At least yours is in the US. I have the same window, “shipped from Shanghai” on the 2nd, but it’s been sitting in Shanghai ever since! My delivery date is June 9 -16 however my iMac left Shanghai Wednesday the 2nd and made it to my town in the US on the 4th but is ironically stuck in the Fedx hub just 8 miles from my home now with an expected delivery next Tuesday the 8th.
Per the shipper, there are no delivery options for this shipment such as me changing the delivery to a customer pickup at the hub, etc. Go figure....
