2021 iMac order thread

My second iMac (yellow 8/ 8/ 16GB / 1 TB) just shipped. Remember my initial blue one hand the noisy fan so I needed to line up in the queue again. Delivery was set to July 26th during order. Now it shall arrive until July 16th.

All it means is that Apple are having to shuffle inventory a bit - probably a hitch in a production line, or a shortage of chips.

They are generally real masters of the supply chain, and based on orders they have and production volumes they anticipate, they can provide pretty good estimates of delivery, even weeks ahead. Often they beat those dates because they seem to under-project production in order to give leeway for units to be replaced if found defective, but they can't get it right every time.

That one day slip looks more like a logistics issue than anything - and they may well still beat it by a day or two anyway.

My pink 8/8/16/512 is scheduled to be delivered on Friday. It is already at my local FedEx Office, but they are holding it until its scheduled delivery date. I can‘t even pick it up early, lol.

So frustrating!

My maxed Orange M1 is coming tomorrow. A long wait. My wife ordered a yellow on release day and received it in 7 days. I waited to see anything was coming in the M1X version at WWDC and then decidied not wait until fall after seeing my wife's machine at work and all the glowing M1 reviews (paid or otherwise).

Well my Jul 9th date has come and gone. That date was actually the UPS tracking date. The date on apple’s site remained Jul 13th. UPS tracking shows on the way as of yesterday afternoon in Louisville KY and now states “check back tomorrow for an updated date”.

So hopefully I’ll see it NLT Tuesday.

Finally my new toy has arrived:). This thing is a beauty! The screen size is more than large enough for me. My heavy load activity is photo editing. I regret not getting the track pad, but I'll snatch one up soon. I took a pic of the Ferrari this weekend at a car show and set it as my desktop background. The picture is incredible (and yes my photography skills are top notch so that helps:cool:), but the clarity is wonderful!

I ordered an Orange iMac 8th July. 16 GB, 4 ports, 512GB SSD storage.. Keyboard & Trackpad.. Mice & I do not get along so well after MacBook Pros trackpads. Still have my wireless Apple Mighty Mouse from 2006.. :)
Delivery 4th >>10th August.. Sadly delivery always takes a while to New Zealand..
Have fun with your iMacs.. Sue.

Ha! Charged. Preparing to ship.
Really hard getting through a session at the moment on this 2013 iMac without rashes.
 
In the end, mine arrived at the store today, 14 July. I ordered on 15 June (16GB/512 silver). Previously the window was 14–21 July, updated to 20 July when it shipped, now ready to collect six days earlier than I was expecting. I'll pick it up tomorrow morning.

I orded a yellow one....i saw beautiful videos with this colors, i hope not regret....the front color with yellow pastel look fantastic....but other colors too....for be diferent

Not originally planning to post here but Just registered to let you guys know my iMac status. Maybe it’s a sign they are speeding up production?

June 25th order date.
Estimated delivery 7/28 - 8/4
Went to preparing to ship tonight with my card charged.
Seems like I may get it early.
Anyone know how long it takes to ship to the US? I’m still 14 days out from my earliest eta delivery date. Is it possible to take that long?

I checked the tracking number again and it says delivery on July 20 instead of July 22-30 when I placed the order originally on June 22.
 
Meh. Those orders are rigged :mad:

Mine. Ordered 13 June (8/8/16/512/grey). Original delivery estimate 26 July - 2 Aug. Still processing and no shift in delivery window.
 
I received it today! Setting it up now, although the screen size difference from my 27" iMac is very noticeable but I hope I can get used to it and fit my workflow as the 27" did. Love the Touch ID, white bezels and glass front.
