Wow, I though the discussions had broken down. I'm not a fan of such a move, simply for the kid's sake.Cal and Stanford in process of leaving PAC-12 for ACC.

Weather here in boston has been so crazy. I think we had a single day in the 90s this summer, and that was in july. It had rained every week in August, many times two or three days in a rowGoing to be 84*s here in TN
I'll trade ya! Been a scorching hot summer in the Phoenix area... every day in July it was at least 110º F... no seasonal monsoon rain to speak of, and it's gonna be 110º F here again today... too hot to be outdoors, never mind playing football in full pads.Weather here in boston has been so crazy. Now I'm not complaining since I hate the heat at this point, but its crazy to be dealing with temps in the 50s and we had that.
I visited Las Vegas back in the day, and I even have family in NM - there's no way I would voluntaryily live in a desert. I actually love the cooler temps, so while my daughter was pissing and moaning over the lack of hot beach days, I was loving itI'll trade ya! Been a scorching hot summer in the Phoenix area.
It's 94*s right now where I live... Nashville has thunderstorms and 93*s ...Weather here in boston has been so crazy. I think we had a single day in the 90s this summer, and that was in july. It had rained every week in August, many times two or three days in a row

Its not about competition, or the quality of the game, its about money. The PAC-12 does not have a TV contract and since the majority of schools have now left the conference its untenable to have a PAC-12 conference, never mind a new tv contract. It makes more sense from a strength of competition standpoint for Stanford and Cal to join the ACC than staying in a Pac-12
It makes more sense from a strength of competition standpoint for Stanford and Cal to join the ACC than staying in a Pac-12 with the AAC schools, or going to the Mountain West. Either way there would be less revenue and they'd have to dramatically cut back their athletic programs. They will still take a significant hit anyway, with the financial concessions they'd need to make to sway the schools in the ACC that oppose them joining.
Vegas is totally fine in the winter. You couldn't pay me enough to get me there in the middle of summer. We have family there, we rarely go down to the Strip.
ACC adds Stanford, Cal, SMU as new members beginning 2024-25
And with today's vote the PAC-12 is now officially dead - Only Washington state and Oregon state are the remaining schools. While those schools have stated a desire to rebuild the conference that's simply not going to happen. I don't see any scenerio where PAC-12 conference would be able to entice any school to leave their existing conference. I don't even thing a merger makes sense.
I agree completely and in all honesty I think the ACC had other options, while Cal, and Stanford have some following, they're not huge football schools. I don't see their additions making the AAC stronger. Factor in the cost in money, man hours, and kids away from their classes and borders on the absurd.two west coast, Bay Area schools in the ATLANTIC Coast Conference.

Aug. 2nd 2024 I believe...The Ducks BLEW Portland State away with an 81 to 7 win!! That wasn't even fun to watch! It's going to be interesting to see if they can keep treading water in their new conference. Does that begin this year or next? I've heard both stories, but have not been able to confirm it either way.
