I can't believe FSU beat LSU, I've not followed Florida State very much but I thought like Miami, they've been stuck in a cycle of haplessness. Good for them, in not only being ranked #8 to open the season but proving that thy ought to be there.

Being an old Notre Dame fan, I absolutely hated how Brian Kelly left, so seeing him lose warms the cockles of my heart :)

lol

I can't stand FSU, Miami, or FLA... any Florida team really...

And LSU is one of my other faves... but oh well.. I felt like #5 was a little too high for them.

Ditto... but then again, I really dislike LSU and Georgia too! Was very happy to see LSU lose, and just looking at the score pretty convincingly, even if it was at the hands of a team from Florida.

Looking at the standings and seeing how far folks dropped... I think Clemson holds that dubious distinction this week!

I may be in the minority but I think Colorado will fall back to earth. The hype surrounding the team and Deon is deafening. While the team will enjoy successes beyond their single win last year I think their ranking may be short lived.

Nebraska lost a tough one and I think they'll be looking to up their game with their new coach as well. Yet with that said, last week's loss is similar to many of their games last season - having victory so close, only to come up short. I think Matt Rhule is trying to change that theme but who knows. They lost to a team that wasn't very good last year, is dealing with a lot of distractions and has a HC who never was a HC. If any week was circled for a win, Neb vs. Northwestern was one of those weeks.

Probably, but it'll be fun to watch...

...but what if they don't...? ;)

Tonight's game, I don't know if I have the ACC network on Youtube TV, but even if I do, I'm not really excited about Murray State. Being a FCS college, its clear that Lousiville has scheduled the beginning of the season as a cake walk - much like every other FBS college.

I think Colorado will fall back to earth - maybe even as soon as tomorrow - but it's hard to argue with the results of hiring Deion. That guy's got everyone talking about Colorado, and when was the last time that happened? I was looking at ticket prices for Texas/Alabama, and cheap tickets are about $150. For Colorado/Nebraska? Almost three times as much. Who would have thought?

I agree that Colorado will come down to earth. But I'm not sure why everyone thought it would be Nebraska. They haven't mattered for 20 years now - as they proved today.

Alabama lost, not sure if they're that bad, or Texas is that good, or just lucky

This looks serious, and from what I undestand from the article, the investigation took place earlier this year so Tucker may very well be out of a job once the academic hearing (as opposed to a court hearing) takes place in October. I think the college has a strong case for a firing with cause, which means he loses his salary.

The really foolish part is, he harassed a lady who was trying to help the team with sexual misconduct. I mean she's there to help the kids behave and treat others with respect, he ignores that and goes after that very woman with unwanted conversations and sick behavior.

Despite the deplorable actions being accused, if true, it will turn out to be a blessing for Michigan State, as it will allow them to terminate a really bad contract for the athletic department.

Tucker's contract also contains a morality clause... but I guess the questions will center on how iron-clad that morality clause is, and how quickly MSU wants to end this via payout (vs litigation). One would have thought after the Nasser thing that MSU would clean up its house...

and then there's this take:

He doesn't deny it, he says it was consensual and with the investigation wrapped up this past July its all up to how the college is going to handle it.

It looks bad for him, especially since they suspended him w/o pay. Normally they'll do it with pay, unless they have something concrete and/or the investigation is wrapped up.

I've enjoyed watching MSU from time to time, they seemed to get their footing in 2021 with a 11-2 record, but the wheels started falling off last year (5 - 7 record). Why the hell did they give him a 10 year, 95 million dollar contract after the 2021 season. Maybe a 5 year, but 10 years? I mean that's something you'd do for a Nick Saban but Mel Tucker? He had a losing record at Colorado, he was 2 - 5 in the covid shortened season at MSU
