So the NFL suspended a bunch of players due to gambling, yet has a team in gambling capital in the world, is in bed with DraftKings, FanDuel and Caesars Entertainment. I can only see hypocrisy in these moves.

Really. I mean, of course no betting on NFL games, duh. But some were suspended for betting on other sports on NFL facilities. Seriously?

I understand the prohibition on NFL games, but I'm largely calling the hypocrisy of getting in bed with betting companies and yet taking a dim view of players betting.

And you can't watch ESPN or the NFL network, without seeing the betting line of games at the bottom of the screen.

No question, being a non-better, its something that I just don't want see, but alas, I think I'm in the minority.

I don't bet either, but I do like seeing it. Tells me what the people with money on the line thing about who is a favorite vs the talking heads on TV.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of anything that promotes gambling and having 2 major leagues, soon to be 3, in Las Vegas can't be a good thing. And the RAIDERS are looking pretty suspect as a team that is throwing games right now, IMHO.

And if they ever put an NBA team there...

Surprising Rodgers can still command such a big deal after a down year at the end of his career. Does he have two good years left in him to give the Jets a decent shot at a title?

I think Rodgers has a couple of good years of football left in him, but the Jets are still the Jets. I don't think they'll sniff a title.

If he shows up for the OTAs, then I think the Jets have the potential to hit the ground running. As we saw last year, when he did his own thing, it took him a month or two to finally hit his groove with the new receivers they had.

Plus he needs an O-line that will protect him, I don't know if the Jet's O-line is good/bad/mediocre but I'm just pointing out he needs help to be succesful

The Jets biggest problem is imho the division; last year they weren’t even so bad but they finished 7-10 and last behind the Bills, Dolphins and Patriots. They lost within the division 2-4. Thats not going to change this year in terms of power proportions, and I doubt whether just a QB is going to get them into title contention alongside the Bills and the Chiefs.

”The Packers agreed Monday to deal quarterback Aaron Rodgers and their 2023 first-round pick (No. 15) and a 2023 fifth-round pick (No. 170) to the Jets for New York's 2023 first-round pick (No. 13), a 2023 second-round pick (No. 42), a 2023 sixth-round pick (No. 207) and a conditional 2024 second-round pick that becomes a first if Rodgers plays 65% of the plays this season, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.”

The deal doesn‘t look that bad for the Jets, its two picks being swapped, and two further picks given outright, one 2023 and one 2024, not even both first-rounders. The Jets still end up with Green Bay’s no15 pick in the 2023 first round, if i read it right.

But, as you quoted, one of the picks becomes a first rounder if Rodgers plays 65% of the snaps. I expect he will do that.
