Honestly another snooze fest of a race, but happy to see McLaren on the podium and Lewis holding on to fourth. Wish Piastri could have done better considering his start, but fifth is solid.

Daniel 13th and Yuki 15th so he is doing what he is paid for.

Aston Martin, I fear, has lost their early edge and Ferrari continues to embarrass.

Well, wasn’t expecting this…..

Max +.25 with P1. So much for the RB19 upgrades needing fine tuning. Congratulations to the entire team for the 12 in a row. Masterful Team effort. The Chassis and Honda PU are simply too much. RBR is simply a Master Class in itself. Great drive by Sergio. Nice to see him back. Hope it lasts……

Great drives by McLaren. Well done Lando.🙂 Looking better every week. Ferrari still Ferrari. What a mess.

Self destruction for Alpine 2 in a row. Unbelievable.

Mercedes not looking much different in race pace. Seemed like they had issues with the high temps today. Maybe not. Definitely allot more balanced on low fuel loads.

Going to be a long season I’m afraid. On to Belgium……….

Yup was playing it a bit close. If there was one more lap Lewis would have had him.

Some talk that Sergio may have started with a lighter fuel load than Max. I think he was saving then they turned the Honda up on the last lap. He was faster than Lewis on Lap 70. But, yes, another lap he would have had to turn it down again IMO. I still believe the W14 will not change much until the new chassis in 2024. IMO, it has always been the rear suspension and still is. The design was flawed from Day1 due to the driver being so far forward. The new wing seemed to help as neither driver was complaining about oversteer, but as been all season they can't put the power down without tire issues. Just MO.

It says something when a Ferrari and an Aston Martin are now "backmarkers". :(

Russell started 18th and was up to 14th after lap 1 because 4 cars were involved in a crash. After that he had to pass Mag, Not, Tsu and Stroll.

Not the same competition Lewis was facing.

I guess that might explain why Perez got so slow towards the end.

Red Bull has been focussing on their 2024 car for a few months now. Mercedes should do the same and stop wasting energy on the 2023 car.

I suspect Ferrari and Aston Martin are also now focussing on the 2024 car because they are nowhere to be seen now.

Yes, Ferrari always has been their worst enemy.

Lando and Max drove very good today. Not sure what happened to Pastri as he started the race well but dropped off as the race continued.

Pastri drove much stronger at Silverstone.

Agreed. Pastri had great pace first stint. Likely different setups. Lando kept pace while Pastri seemed to loose more the lighter he became.

2nd P2 for Lando. Lovin it. McLaren just needs to continue the progression. What a glaring difference it is to see the performance gap between Mercedes and McLaren with identical PU’s.

So after a great qualifying a rather disappointing race.
Max driving off with 25 seconds over his nearest rival. Plenty more in the tank if he needed it.
Good result for McLaren. If it wasn’t for the dominating RB they would’ve had two on the podium.
Mercedes was rapid on low fuel. But earlier on in the heat and the heavy fuel load they were nowhere.
Probably Alpine has the worst day. At least they were able to get packed up early.

Again who could have predicted this season? Alonso and Aston leading at the beginning, now dropping down and McLaren replacing them at the front battling with Red Bull. Amazing.

What a weird drive for Mercedes though? Suddenly doing pace at the end? Think they played it too cautious.

Alpine are self destructing, and LeClerc almost spelling out the disastrous strategy Ferrari had to the team whilst racing, what a mess. If Aston get the pace back I won't be surprised to see Ferrari pushed into the mid field for a length of time.

I really don’t get Ferrari. Their radio message demonstrate a total lack of leadership. Bad strategy, disastrous pit stops, terrible communications. To me the name is so devalued.

And it's not even a sudden thing, they've been going downhill for what 2 or 3 years now? Making disastrous strategy calls. A team seemingly incapable of getting it together. They need to do a lot of soul searching in that team. As you say they devalue the brand name.

Ok Dan Ric finished where? So much for all the hype, if I was the head seat at AT, I would just start both drivers from pit lane, avoid the carnage, Lewis first to last in 891 meters, I was kind of hoping that Lewis would just drop the gears to first, floor it, monumental meltdown of all an sundry under the hood, the car is just useless, How he caught pole???

The idea of tyres for qualifying, ok, pointless if you don't start on the same tyres you set your best lap on, and by best lap, that should be from all 3 Q sessions, maybe that should be tried next?? Fastest ass wipe sets pole? The FIA are playing games to try and find a way to hobble Max, they did this with a German driver in a red car, and tried this with a UK citizen in a German branded car..

Maybe try the old 1 shot wonder, or maybe With 90 seconds warning, call Qualifying in FP1/2/3.. Teams have 90 seconds notice that Qualifying times are now in effect.. Games, something to make this snooze interesting, 70 laps of pure dull... Monaco without the barriers, tracks like this, no business in F1..

Actually DR did very well. He was unfortunately to be taken out of the track with the two Alpines. Dropped him all the way to the end of the grid. And he had to make up all those places again. The final stats don’t show that.
It was a shame... He ran into them... How did the announcers miss that? They went on for a bit trying to figure out what happened and they never noticed in the replay him bumping into Ocon...

I must have missed that as well in the replays, as did the stewarts...

I doubt Sir Mr J Stewart ESQ missed anything, the stewards missed everything....

That was all covered in the commentary I watched. Weird if others missed it.
Nope, nothing to see here https://www.fia.com/documents/championships/fia-formula-one-world-championship-14/season/season-2023-2042/event/Hungarian Grand Prix

It may have been in the commentary, but they were a bit off today. Just like the discussion about the track limits being exceeded not being fair as he was avoiding an accident. The usual suspects in the Sky team had the total wrong corner, as the track limits were exceeded way before that point. And they were corrected on air for that. Commentators do just that, comment, doesn't mean they are right.

DeVries never beat Tsunoda ever in his entire career. Daniel does it in his 1st race despite Daniel being involved in a crash.

And you want to be head of AT?

It's Daniel his 1st race, you need to give him some time to get up to speed.

Zhou hit DR, who then shunted forward into Ocon. Zhou was given a 5 second penalty for it.

First onboard is Zhou hitting Riccardo (despite Crofty saying Tsunoda). Second is onboard Riccardo.

I'm no Daniel fan, but that wasn't his fault.

F1 threatening to put up "Blocking Barricades" in front of all the Clubs and Establishments along the track unless each establishment pays a "$1,500 Licensing Fee" for each individual that will be inside during the race.

Vegas is going to be a disaster.
