Apparently, Horner seems to insist Perez will be driving for Red Bull in 2024. Guess there is no point in watching 2024, when the driver in the other rocketship is trash.
All Max has to do next year, is just show up and collect his trophy, while Perez is fighting with Lewis and Alonso in much slower cars.

Would F1 be better off for seeing the likes of Drugovich and other recent F2 drivers in instead of pensioners such as Alonso/Hamilton/Bottas...Danny Ric is there for his name only, his days are better spent in the WEC 8/24hour series..I'm sorry, but I just want to say; this aged well.

I don’t think so no. I want to see the best drivers in the world, worthy drivers that belong in F1. There’s a lot of younger drivers than are and will never be as good as Alonso, we are so lucky to still have him on the grid and competing at 42.5 years old. Hamilton also certainly deserves to still be around, he’s still got it and was nearly winning a title just 2 years ago. Nigel Mansell was older than Lewis when he won his title in 1992 and those cars really were a workout to drive. Enjoy great drivers while they are still racing, as they won’t be racing for a very long time at some point.
8 podiums for Alonso this year! Early on I felt like he'd be up there even more than that!
Well that race had some drama! Poor Charles.. he must be thinking someone’s got a curse on him lol? Lando was amazing, such a shame he could ‘t keep up with the battle with Max, but they are getting closer. George and Lewis really seem to hate their cars, but they were still in the higher end of the mid field. That first lap crash was just a racing indecent IMO but I have seen a few wheels and tyres come off this year, not very good for safety.

Yeah he needs to improve the consistency a lot or he will be out. He has it in him but just needs to find it a bit more. But that was a brilliant battle with Alonso.

As older gents you know they enjoyed that fight.
You could not be anymore wrong. These old age pensioners who have won multiple world titles and constructors championships, and have a wealth of knowledge to help develop cars, and are fitter then you’ll ever be, and are still getting podium places several times a year….

If only. But the reason he isn’t is to do with the car’s development rather than being passed it. Still I expect he’d have taken the 8 podiums at the start of the season.
I don't think Red Bull would be interested in a competitive team mate for Max, they just want a driver good enough to pick up enough points to secure the constructors championship while the wins are collected by a stronger driver. Last time they had a driver close enough to challenge or beat Max was with Ricciardo, and he left due to what he perceived as favouritism behind the scenes at the time. They did the same thing with Vettel and Webber, they publicly claimed both drivers were equal but it was anything but, behind closed doors. I don't think drivers on the level of competiveness and ego of Max would really deal with a teammate consistently challenging for wins. Lewis has faced a similar situation 3 times in his career against Alonso, Button and Rosberg and the tension simmers at some point. Max does throw the ocassional fiery public tantrum too and I think even Horner and Marko would struggle to manage that without pushing the other driver out the team.
As much as we as fans like to see a good team mate battle, very few teams have the capability to manage it. These driver are self-centred and entitled beings with an immense desire to win. If they are top tier, they expect to be put first which is why teams secretly prefer a supportive number two whether the other driver realises thats what they are or not.
Yep. Having two drivers that are much closer in driving ability, creates problems and friction. Ask McLaren and Mercedes..
I think the reality was that Max had matured (he was still only20 at the start of the 2018 season, where he beat Ricciardo on points and scored 2 race wins to Ricciardo's none), and Ricciardo's realised that Max was the better driver. He didn't want to hang around an be a number two driver.
They gave Webber every chance, but again, the reality was that Vettel was much better. I think after Webber's infamous 'Multi 21' rant at Seb, he realised that he was better off being a number two, and settled for that. I'll never forget Vettel looking quite embarrassed, as though he was thinking 'erm, it's a race, Mark...'. 🤣
This is just supposition, there's no actual evidence to suggest this. The various media like to stir up controversy, cos F1 is otherwise quite boring, but the truth is there's actually little animosity between drivers; Hamilton has perhaps the worst record in terms of his relationships with team-mates, he's peed off pretty much all of them except Bottas at some point or another, and is far and away the biggest whinger in F1, but most of the English-speaking media will ignore that, and concentrate on making others into the 'baddies'. Max is actually very popular in the paddock, as is Alonso, and as was Vettel. All three have been portrayed as 'monsters' by the ESP at various times though. Hamilton pulls stunts like buying everyone dinner to try to enhance his brand, but even now, he and Russell don't seem to be BFFs. But by and large they all get on, and much of the 'rivalry' is pretty friendly once off the track.
A wealth of knowledge? No, Neither Lewis or Fernando are aiding in the development, if this was the case, then surely by this point in the 2020-2025 season of car development, they would be 1st to 3rd every race, not dnf and 3rds on the podium...Further proof is that in 2021 Lewis lost the title in Baku as a result of a badly positioned button.. Who chose that position? Who uses that button on a regular button, some PHD engineer?? So how did all of his titles, and decades of experience aid in 2021?? It harmed him..
Not sure how much the pensioners contribute.. Doubt it is much.. It shows..
