I love it. Not because of the Vikings, but because Darnold might actually be a good QB. And the Jets had him and couldn't make it work. Wonder where Zach will end up playing well.
If Wilson plays well elsewhere, then an argument can be made that the Jets franchise is bad at developing QBs. Geno and Sam both stunk it up as a Jets. I doubt Butt Fumble would have happened if the Sanchize had been drafted by some other team. Geno has been above average with the Seahawks. Now Sam is doing well with the Vikings.

I don't think anything else has to happen.. It is already a well established fact that the Jets have a horrible history of developing young QBs.

But why is that? We are talking about a period of time with multiple GM's and coaches.

For one thing, it's hard to develop young quarterbacks when they're playing on a team with a losing record year after year.
That doesn't explain the Sanchize. The Jets team he played on made the post season his first 2 years.

Just a wild ass guess on my part, but I think it's due to the media circus that surrounds the team. That kind of distraction would ruin most young talent. It would have been especially hard for pretty boy Mark "Sanchize" to focus on improving his game. The only Jets QB who thrived in NYC was Broadway Joe. Namath knew how to play up media circus and he had the rugged good looks of cracked leather.😆 SB III, baby.

That's not it because the Giants play in the same market, and have just as much media scrutiny. Yet they've had some good Superbowl winning QB's...... I think it's just a long run of ineptitude on the Jets part, and it starts with ownership.

Mark Sanchez was a serviceable QB and granted he made some clutch throws in those back to back AFCCG runs. But that team won because they had an other-wordly defense, a great run game and an amazing OL..... that team with a more competent QB and the Jets would have been back to back SB winners.

The only thing keeping people from making fun of the Jets owner's name [Woody Johnson] is his fabulous wealth. A poor man would be the butt of many jokes if his first and last name is slang for 🍆. Ordinary folks don't makes fun of Mark Davis' haircut for the same reason.

A. Woody is my actual first name.
B. I make fun of that idiot's haircut all the time.

That was a looong day for the Chiefs. They also lost Rice, according to rumor with a torn ACL, which means they need someone else to step up the rest of the season.

Broncos had a great day and so did the Raiders. Niners managed to beat the Patriots and the Eagles didn’t really show up in Tampa. Also Vikings are 4-0 now… I’m impressed, they started off great but then almost blew it.

for Vikings fans, a win over Green Bay is always enjoyed. Darnold did what was needed but the Vikings' defensive secondary looks like it could use some improvement

The Eagles are playing more and more like they did in the second half of the 2023 season

And the factory of sadness in Cleveland is running 24/7. Someone please come and take Watson away. Worst trade in NFL history. As a bonus, in the 1:00 games I got to switch between watching Baker Mayfield torch the Eagles and Joe Flacco beat the Steelers. Then in the late game the $230 million mistake drove the Clowns to another defeat. Yet another long, long, season.

Yesterday was the longest NFL day. From the London game at 9:30am to the SNF football game ending at 1am it was 15 and a half hours of football. Crazy.

It was really nice to lay in bed and watch the end of the game. The night games usually end by 8:30, so this was a treat. :)

wow I'm shocked by this... not the fact that they fired him.. But the timing... Jets never fire a HC in-season. I don't even know how to feel about this
The Jets essentially gave up on their season. :(

Meanwhile, the Giants are actually looking up because they have now an excellent defense and decided to be less reliant on Daniel Jones' throwing.
