I’m excited for all the folks in Canada and the UK who can finally order one!

Mine is the 1 TB. I have a ton of photos and 4K videos. The more I can keep local, the better.

Start taking more Panoramic photos right now! And Spatial Videos if you have the latest iPhone

Nice :) Yeah I'm also hoping to load up a ton of photos on it, the new 2D -> 3D conversion stuff looks absolutely amazing... Hoping by the time we're up and running there's an option in the OS2 beta to "convert all" rather than having to do it one by one.

I need to take more spatial video! I was planning on skipping the iPhone 16 series this year but given the expected 48mpx ultra wide, I assume they'll also move to 4K spatial video... if so I might have to upgrade as the 1080p 30fps looks pretty rough off the 15 Pro...

I was in Thailand earlier this year and took a ton of panoramic photos and spatial videos in anticipation!

We can create the hype!! What storage are people thinking of going for? I figure given the overall cost difference of the 256gb and the 1tb that I might as well go with the larger capacity. I imagine that 8K immersive content will be pretty large!
I was thinking the 256GB, tbh I dont know enough. What would I actually store on there few apps? I can download and delete apps if storage gets full, I assume videos would come from iCloud anyway?

The Spatial Videos require some practice in my experience. Just a few things I’ve learned:

Just like with your eyes, distant objects don‘t have much 3D effect.
Panning really blurs quickly since we are limited to 30fps.

So I try to:
Keep the camera as still as possible. Walking is ok if you’re steady.
Closer subjects look much more 3D of course.
More light seems to help.

The Apple demo shows kids around a birthday cake. I keep this in mind when I’m shooting. They picked an ideal setting.

There are many times where you have to download large files in order to view them. Right now I'm using 358 GB of storage.

1. AmazeVR concerts takes ~23 GB just downloading the sample songs. Full concerts would be more.

2. Vision OS takes ~12.43 GB.

3. Many virtual reality apps require you to download content to use them. Explore POV in my case uses ~18 GB, Healium ~11 GB, Photos ~8 GB, UY Immersive ~6 GB and so on.

Since the mention of the 'not pro' version being developed and the Pro 2 going on the back burner, and at less than half the price (supposedly).
I will definitely wait for the more affordable version.....;)

One annoying thing (to me) is you can only access the AVP App Store with the device.
It would be nice to know what is available.

Many years ago, I use to render 360 visuals and view them on my Rift DK2 (connected to my Mac) using the GoPro viewer. The Rift basically acted as an additional display (but in 360). I would be interested about a similar usage with the AVP (or not PRO).

I am also now thinking the same, and debating in my head if I wait for the non-Pro version.

What I wonder with the current AVP, is how many years it will be suitable. For example, I have an M4 iPad Pro and feel that is a device that will get updated for a long time and have enough power etc.

But with AVP being 1st gen, I wonder if that M2 chip will be enough for what vision OS brings in years ahead? On the flip side, I wonder what chip will be used in the non-pro device..

For what it’s worth, if anything happened to mine today I’d be at Apple tomorrow to buy another one. Apart from toasters, there will always be a new model coming.

Thanks for sharing, what would your top 3 things be, that would make you go out and buy another one in that scenario?

I'm eagerly waiting to see what UK specific applications/use cases come up in the weeks and months after launch. For me things like, Sky support (via Sky Go) and other UK content like TNT Sport, for Premier League sport etc.

Viewing my own content - panoramic photos, videos, Spatial videos, Live Photos from trips and sent from friends
Viewing movies, TV shows and 3D movies
Apps unique to VP - games, museum apps, The Archive (Star Trek), astronomy

I’m excited about visionOS 2.0 particularly the ability to see old photos in simulated 3D. Beta folks on here gave talked about how impressive the feature is.

I'm also excited about future possibilities in terms of more immersive content and apps but I’m extremely happy with it now.

So when is the UK App Store due to go live?
Guessing end of next week, or the start of the week after..about two weeks before the launch and when the press will be using them. I do keep checking though, for the Canadian one.

Even if we only got the iPad version of the Sky Go and Discovery (TNT) apps I would be happy and would be a big tickbox for me to get one. More UK centric content like that the better!

Sky used to have a service called Worlds that was an immersive way of watching football on the Meta devices but they scrapped it earlier this year... hopefully because they are working on a more production ready version of the service instead 🤞

I tried mirroring my Mac to the Vision Pro with the Sky App running - Sky were wise to that and I just got a blank screen. DRM got me !

I am surprised the EU haven’t chimed in with some ludicrous change they DEMAND…..🤣
