I hope it’s a lot closer this year. But I highly doubt it will be.
Of the (assumed) top four, three of the teams have two drivers who will compete with each other for points.
Whereas only RB will have one driver picking up the wins. So I’m expecting it all to be over by the summer.
Hope I’m wrong. Suspect I’m not.
You mean RBR, unless you expect Yuki or Daniel to win. 🤓

One thing we can be certain of after testing is that Haas will be at the back of the pack. The drivers seem to expect Red Bull to be the clear favorite again too.

Well I’m still going to call them RB cause it’s quicker to type!
Yes everyone knows it’s pretty much a forgone conclusion that Max will win. Probably have a free pit stop window at half the races.
Never good to have one team dominate. Especially when their drivers are such a mismatch.
Just remember the first race is a bit mixed up due to Ramadan. Qualifying on Friday and race on Saturday.
Not long to go now folks.

Don’t give up. Besides, we won’t see true performance until Japan, IMO.

Max should comfortably win the WDC again, but I'd like to see his winning percentage drop from the 91%
of 2023 (19 of 22) to something more like 75% in 2024 (18 of 24) so we can at least have some variety on the top step of the podium. Ferrari and their drivers seem really happy with the SF-24 and we usually do not see major upgrades until the Spanish Grand Prix, which will be Round 10 and held in mid-June. So I am hoping roughly the first half of the season has some mixing up.

And if not, WEC sure looks exciting this year with so many new factory entrants in HyperCar and LMGTE. :)

I think it’ll be another very easy world championship for Max to be honest. Let’s just hope Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren at least get close enough together to give the viewers something to watch. McLaren shocked me with their pessimistic thoughts after testing. Lando thinks they are way off Ferrari despite closing the gap at the end of last season. Maybe nobody has shown their true pace and it’s all smoke and mirrors, I certainly hope so.

I agree it’s likely to be a lot of smoke and mirrors. Sadly mostly from RBR who probably have another second or two in the performance.

It’s got nothing to do with Ford. They are a minority partner in the 2026 Powertrain company.

It has nothing to do with any of the technical partners or sponsors, but that does not mean they don't care about any "poor optics".

I suspect they are posturing and angling for a way out of the deal as Ford (as usual) is having some financial challenges.

Considering the Ford CEO within the past 30 days gave a positive update about how their partnership with Red Bull on the 2026 PU is progressing, I highly doubt this. ;)

Sure, they would and should. But they can't complain about transparency if they run as business themselves regarding sensitive HR related issues. It just shows a lack of understanding regarding global HR and worker rights and makes them look foolish. Everyone not related to the matter wants transparency except for the people involved, that would be bad business practice.

I'd tell the CEO of Ford (or any other company) how inappropriate his statement is.

Well, you seem to want to have your cake and eat it. One could say that is for the optics ;)

A fun video though. Can’t see them using them for races though. The risk factor of it hitting the crowd or a car.
I’ve been to races where they use high speed drones to film the action. Not F1 speeds admittedly but well in excess of 200 kph. The drone would follow the lead cars around the entire track and was pretty mesmerizing to watch as it buzzed around.

Ford hasn't made any public "statements."

Ford has written a second letter to RBR, which has been leaked to a member of the press, after apparently being stonewalled, or not getting satisfactory answers to its original letter, which the reporter has not read, an important piece of context that renders the story incomplete, at best.

What is known is that Ford takes such matters seriously, and expects its partners to conform to the same standards it does in handling these situations. Is that not fair?

And if you doubt Ford's position, ethical standing, or volition to act, look up Raj Nair.

Ford has no right to information sharing, they should know and respect international privacy laws. By not discussing such matters with parties that have no right to such information it is a clear signal they are taking it seriously...

Horner cleared of inappropriate behaviour. We’ll never know the inner handling of this but hopefully all parties are happy and they can continue with the season prep.

Jos must be a bit gutted though.

I wonder how much they paid for the non disclosure agreement. Quite a bit I’m guessing!

An 8-week process, good that it has been completed. I note that the complainant has a right to appeal, which is naturally correct and appropriate in line with European workers rights.

Let's hope the focus can now be on the racing, as it will be a fun season.

Christian Horner has been instrumental in the dominance of RBR in F1 and therefore in my opinion there is no way Red
Bull corporate was going to find him guilty because he is far too important to RBR and it's continuing success.
