I’ve heard many people say that Pacific Time (the time zone of the US and Canadian west coast, including Las Vegas) is the worst time zone in the world to do business with.Soooooo... why is the race starting so late here in the US?
Here is what i found:
Why is the F1 so late at night in Las Vegas?
The 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix starts at 10 p.m. local time on Saturday, November 24, making it midnight or later for many viewers in the United States. This is the same start time as it was for last year's race.
The reason? Global broadcasting opportunities.
Las Vegas Grand Prix CEO Renee Wilm explained the decision in 2023, saying: "That was actually a compromise to make sure we are broadcasting at a time when our European fans can get up with a cup of coffee and watch the race [at] six, seven in the morning, very similar to how we [in the US] watch the European races.
"So that was actually a very important component of planning out our sequencing for the race weekend."
Of course, staging a night-time race amid the neon glow of the Strip also adds a certain aesthetic lustre to the event, much like those in Singapore and Bahrain.
There’s plenty of champions from the past who won due to circumstances and who were not better than their rivals overall, it takes all sorts to make the sport what it is. Lando lacks consistency and it’s something I have always said that puts the like of Alonso, Hamilton, Verstappen apart from the rest. The car is one element and doesn’t guarantee a championship, it’s about nerve and consistency.I have no skin in the game, but Lando's post-race comments don't exactly bolster any impression that he's WDC material.
Doesn't seem to have the self-confidence and killer instinct that separate the great ones from the merely good.
Sure, he might get one if McLaren built a dominant car, and no one else could, but in the face of a challenge?

Exactly, it was (and still is with constructors to play for) an exciting season. Exactly what a lot of people asked for.Still have to say this has been one of the best seasons for years, no one ran away with it, cars much closer together, brilliant battles. I don’t mind if Max, Lando, Lewis win, but I don’t want them winning by in Lewis’s case on one race I remember lapping 4th place their car was so dominant, that’s just boring. I want the teams to fight for that win. This year was closer to that then it has been for ages.
I have no skin in the game, but Lando's post-race comments don't exactly bolster any impression that he's WDC material.

Yay Max Verstappen four times in a row World Champion. In a car third in the constructors championship. Amazing results.
Glad Carlos Sainz still is on the podium and gained third place.
100% agree, he is in the 95% class, that is why he is in F1, but WDC, nope, he lacks the 5% x factor, there is no fight, no drive, he just goes to his happy place, at 95% and camps there.. He will never be WDC, a kid 12 yrs old today, will beat Lando to WDC title..I have no skin in the game, but Lando's post-race comments don't exactly bolster any impression that he's WDC material.

Or when Max won 19 races in a season without really breaking a sweat. These guys can race and it nice to see them tested. That comfortable points cushion Max built up in the first quarter of the season reminds me of Button in 2009, started the season in the best car before other teams caught up and passed them. He kept himself consistent and finished as high as he possibly could to return maximum points and that is where nerve and consistency comes into play.Still have to say this has been one of the best seasons for years, no one ran away with it, cars much closer together, brilliant battles. I largely agree with this. I'd put Perez and Colapinto 1 lower and Bottas 1 higher.I went to bed an hour before the race started and watched the VOD this morning. Overall a good race and I am also surprised that Carlos was not penalized for aborting at the pit entrance.
This morning we have been ranking the 23 drivers this year on an F1 Discord server I am a member of so I thought I would include my list here (drivers ranked within each tier).

Perez - his team mate just won a title with 2 races remaining he's struggling to score points
Colapinto - fast, but he's destroying cars in a team that can't afford it.
Bottas - there's no real difference between him and Zhou. The teams terrible so its hard to judge further.
I agree with all of your points, but Perez mid-season slump is now abysmal. I see no reason he should even be in F1 currently. I'd be tempted to put him down with Stroll. His Mexican GP was so bad it could've been Stroll or Sargent in the car.Perez did his usual mid-season super slump, but he was strong at the start so that is why I put him in C.
Colapinto has indeed crashed a fair bit, but he is a rookie and rookies are expected to crash. And he has impressed me more than Albon has (Albon has really disappointed me this year).
Bottas is so much more experienced than Zhou and Sargeant, yet he is behind both in the WDC. He can qualify well on occasion, but then he drops like a stone in the race. Yes, the Sauber is absolute garbage and their half-minute pit stops early on shafted him, but the Williams is no winner, either, and I feel he still should be ahead of at least Zhou.
hmmm What does the "S" equal?I went to bed an hour before the race started and watched the VOD this morning. Overall a good race and I am also surprised that Carlos was not penalized for aborting at the pit entrance.

hmmm What does the "S" equal?
The other ones seem to based on educational grades...? Correct?
Scallywags. It’s where particularly naughty drivers get to think about what they’ve done.hmmm What does the "S" equal?
