So looks like FOM might be ready to approve GM as a "factory" team for 2026 utilizing the facilities Andretti Global is building in the UK. GM has agreed to be the formal owner of the team, which has assuaged FOM's fears of how comitted they were to be in F1.

Looks like confirmation that Michael’s Leadership Style was the impasse. Looks good to go. Especially with the new UK Based Satellite Facility. 😉

I am sure Michael's attitude played a role, but I believe the main reason was FOM was afraid that as a "customer" team (first of Renault and then of GM), A-G would not have the financial depth to ensure they could stay in for the long haul.

A-G's new owner has very deep pockets and GM now making it a "factory" team appears to have assuaged FOM's worries about them sticking around for many years to come and they are now willing to let them join in 2026 using customer PSUs until GM's is ready in 2028.
