Mad Max doing some proper dirty driving in the Mexican GP. His 10 second penalty was VERY VERY deserved. He was outright blatantly cheating.

He broke the rules/guidelines, and received a penalty. Why do you call it cheating? Also, as you watched it fresh, what do you think of the consistency between the penalties in COTA vs Mexico? Impressive right?

Sorry typing as I'm watching the race.

20 seconds total for Max, well he keeps on doing it so sooner or later the directors and marshals will have enough and dish out the harsh penalties, not like Max isn't known for running wide pushing others off track.
Lando for a deserved one last race pushing him off the podium but he isn't really known for pushing others off, in that case he got the pamalty for overtaking off track and not giving the place back, after Max forced him off, again.

Also deliberately breaking the rules is known as cheating.

McLaren and Lando still have some maturing to do and learning to do, but they are bribing it to RB and it's fantastic to see, however Max is giving serious Lewis vibes with his driving.

Penalties are as expected. Lando got a penalty for overtaking off track once, Max got 10 seconds for pushing Lando off track twice. But Max and it seemed Perez did enjoy showing others off track. If you keep doing it you will be harshly punished for it. About time to be honest too. And I say that as a RB supporter.
Breaking the rules deliberately is called cheating.

Do you know who's driving has impressed me? Oscar's.
Ok, interesting.

So Max got twice a 10s penalty, you seem to have missed the second one. And the comparable scenario wasn’t the event with Norris who actually got just 5 seconds but also with George who only got 5 seconds.

When you break the rules but don’t gain an advantage by doing so, is that still cheating?

IMO Max and RB are mature enough and good enough to win without driving like that and being made an example of. I mean they tell Max he has the penalties and he moans a little bit remains calm and focused overall, he just needs to apply that to his driving, Max has matured into a driver who shows his anger with his driving a bit, but he's also a genius driver too so doesn't need to make the mistakes if in anger or not.

Nope I didn't miss the second one, both fully deserved. Sorry if you don't like it but that's my opinion and that's as a Red Bull fan. Lando got what he deserved. All seems fair to me.
However at heart I'm a McLaren fan due to watching Senna in his day. If they win I'll be absolutely ecstatic and they actually have 2 drivers who can usually compete. In fact IMO Oscar is the best driver in the grid this year.

So fan of the two teams really. RB need to dump Perez though, I've said that for ages.

Getting the penalties was fine, I have no problem with that. I mean, as the colloquial saying goes "commit the crime, do the time". No problem at all. But then the punishment should be the same as well. I have no issue with Lando's 5s as Max exceeded the track limits (but within the allowance) and thus it could be argued that Lando did not intentionally go off track, however he overtook and didn't return the place. That was silly. So no problem.

But when George did what Max did, he only gets 5 seconds. When Charles swore (even worse) then what Max did he got a fine and no community charge. When George actually crashes into someone and causes a DNF he still only gets 5s.

I'm all up for rules, as long as they are applied consistently.

Anyway it happened, but I'm afraid it will dominate Las Vegas once more unless we get some rain :)

I'm half way through the last race and my goodness 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 what a mess. I see several teams fined for 5000 euro and Lando also got an infringement for 'forgetting' race start rules and leading a formation lap when not authorised. And a Haas gets disqualified lol.
And Ocon leading the race..

Throw some rain in and it all falls to pieces haha. Anyway onto the second half.

Rain is the great equalizer :) It separates the men from the boys :p

That it does, Lewis and Max are usually the wet driving masters, but Max showed everyone how it's done I have to say and Lewis was wobbling all over the place, a well earn't win, what a catastrophe of a race though lol. I think Max has it in the bag now.

And Alpine!! Go team go! Bet they weren't ever expecting that result.

I can’t say I have ever seen Lewis deliberately run others wide off the circuit and he’s known to be pretty fair wheel to wheel.

I didn't mean its in that regard, at least I don't think I did? I can't remember lol. Lewis can have big shoulders now and then but not as bad as Max no. But Max proved he does't need to be that aggressive in the last race.

"Allot of people have a prejudice problem with Max, and will never be able to accept his raw talent."
Of that he has loads, he has the x factor that takes him from 95% to 100%, the 5% needed to win a WDC.. Which if you count every driver that has raced in F1, from 1950, we have only a handful of WDC winners...

What Max/Micheal Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, and others bring to F1, is status:Villian.. And F1 needs a great anti-hero.. We need a Prost to Senna, Lewis to Nico.. F1 is more than a sport, it is drama, it is hero v anti-hero...

Be it the race director, FIA Prez, team managers, there needs conflict, something to get the crowd/supporters involved.. If not watching 20 cars lap after lap, without the conflict would just be dull, might as well watch curling or paint dry, grass grow..

If there was no villian v hero, I doubt F1 would be viable as a business..

Max certainly is a good driver. Unfortunately he doesn’t come across as a nice person when things aren’t going his way. The childish outbursts over the radio do him no favours.
Then driving others off the track etc when in reality he doesn’t need to do that. But that is who he is.

Great talent. Shame about the rest.

All drivers have outbursts on the radio. Have you ever listened to Lewis or Charles for example. 🤷‍♂️

Who is up for an honours bet!? We could have a world champion this weekend.

Although it’s no secret that I am a Max fan, I do not think he will become a world champion in Las Vegas. The competition is too strong, the car is at its limits.

As a side bet, a fiver that Max gets a DNF.

Given how RB seems to be afraid of criticizing Checo, it would be interesting to see him take out Max and what the outcome would be. We don't get enough drama in F1 as is. :p For that to happen though they would need to actually be close to each other on the track, but I guess it could happen while Max laps Checo.

I would just LOVE for Max to get a DNF and Checo to finish outside the points, and for Lando to win and Oscar come second, with a Ferrari or Merc in third. Make Max and RB sweat a bit again! Make them work for that win I say.

We need a proper battle next year too because all bets are off for 2026 with so many changes, new cars, engines, regs etc. for all we know the top teams including RB could be in the bottom and the mid field front runners then, I bet Newey will design the 2026 Aston to be very competitive.

I think both 2025 and 2026 will be super frustrating and exciting at the same time.

I think next year is between Oscar, and Charles. Although I’d love to see Lewis do really well with Ferrari and get one more shot.

I think Max will be third next year if he finishes the year. And Checo will be 10th.

The radio outbursts are on another level compared to other drivers I agree. They all have their moments of frustration but Max is a lot more animated and emotional. I would be dishonest if I said it didn't influence my impression of him. He's a fantastic racing driver and I don't think he needs to do many of the things he does when its not going his way, but he apparently doesn't care about any of that.
