So was F1 not F1 when pretty much the entire field except for Ferrari ran Cosworth DFVs, and teams shared chassis as well?

Hungarian GP, McLaren need to grow up! If you want someone to win do not manufacture it so the other driver is winning!! Very unprofessional and not fair on Oscar at all.

Max just shouldn't have been anywhere near a race car in his mindset, way too angry. And nearly wrecked Lewis's race for his red mist hence his finishing position, that was entirely Max's fault and a bit disrespectful to the team.

Well, views may differ on that one. I didn't think then, and still don't think now, that to swap them back was a smart move.

Always love that those who aren't part of a team, or working relationship, have views on it being respectful or not. Their relationship is theirs, as long as they are happy with it. And there is no problem there when you get to the bit about what AN and GP themselves are saying.

Being so angry is unprofessional, which Max WAS being at that point, nearly putting your car out of the race due to angry overtaking is a little disrespectful to the team who spend hours getting the car ready. I'm sure they appreciated Max hurling abuse at them too.

I know Max loves the team, sure they can handle him swearing at them, but he doesn't need to be so angry he nearly stuffs it, needed to cool down at that point.

There is not a driver on the grid quite like him, he certainly loses his cool a lot easier than most. It was being said that he'd grown up a lot over the last couple of years, but in reality I think it is how he reacts to pressure and he had 2 seasons without being challenged. He is in quite a unique situation in Red Bull though as Horner rates him massively and defends any criticism, and the Helmet see's him as their best asset and does the same. I couldn't imagine him doing this at Mercedes or Ferrari. I know Mercedes were so angry with Nico and Lewis after the 2016 Spanish GP, they were fined for the car damages and told one of them could end up losing their seat. Sometimes drivers need to be reminded that they work for the team, rather than the other way around and the team will be there after they have gone. Jos probably needs to accept some accountability for it to some degree.

Ah, here we go it is unprofessional, the other one is arrogant, and then we hear dangerous as well, and let's not forget unsportsmanlike and unfair. Oh, and we now have abusive as well. All highly emotive, subjective, adjectives used by F1 'fans'. 🤣

When he breaks the written rules, absolutely fine, deal with it in accordance with the rules, but all these other unwritten rules are just so strange.

I wonder what Red Bulls employee policies are in regards to an employee hurling abuse at another employee in anger during work?

A proper fan is one who can see the mistakes and criticise them for it.

They probably have policies like any company but ignore it if it’s a team member they don’t want to take action on. Let’s not forget Horner was sending pictures of his old chap to a female colleague and she was suspended for complaining and it was hushed up. Max throwing a tantrum is probably considered as mild in their culture.

Ah yes I forgot about Horners overly horney spell. Max swearing at his team won't mean anything despite any policies they have.

Well the Cost Cap for 2026 is rising from USD 135 million to USD 215 million in 2026, but a number of expenses that are excluded from the current cap will be part of the 2026 cap, so the net effect may be relatively neutral due to both that and taking into account inflation and exchange rate changes since 2001. UK-based teams will also no longer be able to receive a tax rebate for their spending on R&D.

Audi will be granted a higher cost cap to offset the ~40% higher staff wages in Switzerland than the UK, so their cost-cap will be around USD 235 million based on Audi's comments that they spend USD 20 million a year more on staff than the UK-based teams. The other nine teams naturally opposed this, but the FIA has final say on this issue.

It "might" be $215m but in reality it is about 1/3 of that for actual 2026 on track racing upgrades, teams have to pay for ongoing maintenance along with replacing parts, really the FIA should have capped this at $700m which would equate to around $300m for development for 2026 and on track parts/upgrades.. $215m is stupid and way too low even for f2 season.

It is a good question, I don't know (well a family member does, and I helped review the terms) but that doesn't cover live action. Similarly, like in some other high adrenaline live actions situations where I've got experience in, like in the Army or Law Enforcement and Intelligence. During a live event, there is no need and time for pleases and thank you, that doesn't give complete freedom to personally attack an individual verbally or physically, especially not when its played to a particular individual unrelated to the job at hand for the event. But when it is generic, and not played at the person, but at the situation or what has happened, there is typically allowance for that.

Do they have 40% more costs to live in Switzerland? Wonder if any UK team members would be tempted to move if they are offered positions? Huge jump though in cost cap, but inflation has killed the UK economy and doesn’t seem to be going back down anytime soon so that’ll take a fair chunk of it I’d imagine.

Sadly, yes they do have way higher costs of living. Switzerland is very, very expensive. Parts of the UK are as well, but in general it isn't anywhere near Switzerland.

The numbers can vary a lot by, date, location, and metrics used within the countries, but the average cost of living in Switzerland is about 60 percent higher than in the UK in 2024. Comparing the two most expensive cities in each (Zürich and London), the difference is about 33 percent for the same period. Swiss wages are higher though too, relatively speaking, so the purchasing power is greater in Switzerland despite higher living costs. It wouldn't surprise me if Sauber/Audi are at a financial disadvantage despite the higher budget cap allotted to them given the costs in Switzerland.

Kick Sauber Las Vegas livery...

I’m on the Singapore race now, the last race being where Perez and Sainz collided for no real worthy reason on the second from last lap... apart from lack of concentration. Kudos to Oscar winning it fair and square though.

Just finished the Circuit of The America’s GP, hmm six of one half a dozen of the other, however Lando does go off track constantly and Max was ahead at the Apex and the penalty for Lando was expected, but Max did pretty much shove him off track by going wide.

But the RB isn’t working as well as last year that’s for sure, others being a lot closer than before and beating them. One thing I have noticed is just how many times you have two Ferrari’s, McLaren’s and Mercedes at the front group, with Max as expected on his own and Perez way down the order.

But that has made this one of the best seasons for literally years!

Jos is toxic and needs to go away, imo.
RB should have banned him long ago.
Max is going to walk anyway.
