Even team principles won’t entertain the whole VCARB rubbish.

I’d be more than happy to see Charles win today, he needs the confidence boost I think and it’s his home race, he knows this circuit probably better than any other driver on the grid.

If Oscar manages it though I think it’ll be deserved. Just nice to see different winners again and a reminder that the car has to be right. We have some awesome talent in the new generation and I hope the coming years ignite the sport again. It blooming well needs it.

Folks keep saying this... how often is this circuit up and running? I wouldn't think he could drive the exact layout everyday that he is home, could he? I get that he lives there and he might more familiar with the city and it's lay out, is that what folks are basing that statement on? I guess that could be helpful...

Active GP winners:
LeClerc
Sainz
Norris
Russel
Verstappen
Hamilton
Gasly
Ocon
Ricciardo
Alonso
Perez
Bottas

Pretty cool that over half the usual field has won a GP. Love to see Piastri added to the list. When was the last time we saw more than one new winner in a season?

I’d imagine growing up there and walking it so often he’d see reference points and apply it to his racing maybe. Just a general familiarity maybe, no science or facts involved, just a statement.

Agreed. The upcoming talent really does bode well for the future of the sport. This along with the recent gains by other teams has been rejuvenating.

I feel like he will cock it up though...

I'm more concerned about Ferrari getting the strategy wrong. Although to be fair this has lessened under Fred. It's tough though. Charles, Oscar, Max all fighting in relatively equal cars would be a worthy production, IMO. Even with the new talent rising to the top levels I'm still of the opinion that Max is the best wheel on the grid by a significant margin regardless of the car.

I'll be pulling for Charles today.

Race will be resuming shortly with the original starting owner, so good news for Charles and Carlos and bad news for some others who had made places.

Everyone swapped tires so arguably this will be a no-stop race. Ferrari and McLaren switched from mediums to hards and the Mercedes and Max did the opposite.

So this is my race coverage this morning. I'm not happy about it.
I realize our safety is important but I also realize that espn doesn't have to broadcast the race on abc.
I wish they'd just keep it all on espn.

That was Magnussens fault in a big way too. I’ll never understand the stewarding in F1, it’s never been consistent.
Not sure if it's a written rule, but there is a policy to be much lenient on first-lap incidents as accidents are more likely to occur when the cars are bunched together. So, a lot of incidents at the start will be ruled less strictly than if the same things happened later in a race.

Did not stop them from giving Ocon a 5 place grid penalty and two penalty points for his actions with his teammate.

Another snoozer of a Monaco, but at least there is variety on the podium and Max is out of the Top Five.

Thunderstorms closing in on Indianapolis so they have delayed the start and cleared the grandstands.

man that F1 kids broadcast... lol had to keep the volume down.

Is it safe to say that the 2024 Regulations are working... or just has it been a series of misfortunate incidents?

Couldn’t have been a better place for him to win. So nice to see Prince Albert breaking royal protocol and hugs for Charles and Fred and spraying champagne.

Very nice.

Well done to Leclerc today, he managed that race really well and it's good to see a good mix of teams up in the points.
