At least it's new. This is the 10th season in a row now that Red Bull is using essentially the same identical livery. I've never been a fan of the Red Bull branding but they at least used to mix things up. Now it's hard to tell their cars from different years apart. The 2025 VCARB on the other hand looks great! Goes to show that RB could make an interesting livery if they wanted to.

Since we have nothing better to do for the next week, how about we rank the liveries from best to worst? Here's my ranking and feelings about each.
  1. VCARB: Fresh and fun!
  2. Williams: Simple, but appealing to me.
  3. Aston Martin: Not as nice as 2022, but hard to go wrong with British Racing Green.
  4. Ferrari: It's a Ferrari, but the white doesn't do it any favors.
  5. Alpine: More coherent than last year. I like the colors but they should pick one.
  6. Mercedes: An okay but somewhat inconsistent livery.
  7. Red Bull: Same procedure as every year, James. Not a fan of the dark, flat blue.
  8. HAAS: A typical HAAS livery, not their best but not their worst. Looks better on track than in the renders.
  9. Sauber: Striking green color but otherwise very generic. Looks like a car from an unlicensed game.
  10. McLaren: Another terribly messy livery. It's been all down hill since the MCL34.

Nice idea. Here are my opinions:

  1. Mercedes - Like the mix of silver and black, very sleek. Seems in keeping with their popular road car colour favourites too. Looks a bit more menacing on the race track compared to most IMO.
  2. Aston Martin - It doesn't get much better than a British-ish racing green livery on any car. Love the nose cone join.
  3. Ferrari - Liking the darker red and the fact the lower part is black, much like the late 80's, early 90's. Needs gold wheel centres though and get rid of the white around the HP.
  4. VCARB - Fun design and puts Red Bull's now tired livery scheme to shame.
  5. Sauber - You can't miss these on the grid and something very different.
  6. McLaren - I like the nod to their roots with the orange, but it does look like an advertising billboard with not too much car where a sponsor is slapped on. Very different to the philosophy of Ron Dennis who would carefully pick sponsors based on how they'd fit the company image. Different times now though and beggars can't be choosers with less sponsor interest.
  7. Williams - It doesn't really strike me as an interesting livery tbh and much like McLaren it feels like a lot of sponsor decals ruining a nice paint job.
  8. Haas - Very much in keeping with the company identity but rather boring now.
  9. Red Bull - Same old and maybe time to even bring back the livery style of the Vettel era with vibrant gloss Yellow, Red and Blue. The matt style since 2017 looks a bit tired and I agree, you can't really tell straight away with year these cars are from anymore.
  10. Alpine - The pink and blue reminds me of the inflatable paddling pool my daughters get out in the summer. It's funky but doesn't suit an F1 car IMO.

The white vomit on the donkey team.. tragic.. really terrible.. hopefully that is just for the launch and not a season..

This is the only pic I've seen of the Mclaren:

But I agree with your assessment.

Incidentally, Any one watch the F1 75 show last night? It was rather cringe worthy, I thought. But what was worse was yet again the British behaviour, the booing is just not right. It makes it even worse when you then hear them go on about sportsmanship and all that. I know this was F1 and not the FIA, but if the FIA wants swearing sorted, can we also stop this? It is so disrespectful to those working for those teams. And really not a good luck for the British.

Beyond Cringe Worthy. Reminded me of a Las Vegas Burlesque Show. ;)

I missed it, heard stories about how it was "too hollywood" but then what is to be expected? F1 has changed, and not for the better, I cannot wait for sweargate to head to the courts, and it will.. There will be a lot of drama llamas in 2025... Already some poor innocent said a word he for the rest of his life will regret..

Having life long regrets is for crimes, and swearing is not a crime.. F1 is more kindergarten than professionals at work.. Children have no business ruining, sorry running motorsport empires!!!

Putting aside the unfortunate impression that the standardized F1 wheel gives of being a cheap steel wheel, the way McLaren decorates them would be more fitting on a clown car. Perhaps they could do a one-off special, and try to emulate the Ronal Teddy Bears. But, Google buck$…

The attempt to leverage the association with classic orange is noble, and Zak's done a good job of getting sponsors to consume the billboard space, but orange/black livery has been a messy mishmash for a while.

The Ferrari echoes the lazy attempt at accenting a classic red car as also seen on the 499P. In this case, it's even worse, with the white clashing more sharply with the deeper shade of red. But again, HP is said to be footing 2/3rds of the budget…

My favorite in this round is the Minardi, or whatever they're calling themselves this season.
