So we agree F1 is nuts, run by a nutter, 10 nutters in agreement, the rules are nuts, maybe it should be branded the Peanut Butter Crunch Formula..

No, we don't agree, in my opinion, you are being very odd. Perhaps find a different sport when you dislike it that much.

I see the crash about to happen, and a lot of tears and regrets and and.. But too late.. I just cannot quite understand how 10 adult men can live and work, and accept this lunatic.. And that they are not man enough to say NO...

My guess is self-sanctioning is too difficult / expensive. In addition to getting FOM onboard, you also need all 11 teams and all of the tracks. And I imagine many tracks do not want to risk their FIA accreditation for other motorsports by joining a break-away Formula One.

Me, I just actually watch the races. 🤷‍♂️👍

F1 has always been a circus.

A lot of people rather enjoy the freak show acts, perhaps even the most, which helps sustain the media and discussion venues.

Focus on the main act, the races, and it does induce much less agita. Thankfully, the competition has been more interesting of late, though the FIA still can't help but intrude from time to time.

Keeping it at arms length makes it even more enjoyable.

Anything that would derail the money train would be out of the question.

It seems Adrian Newey noticed issues with the handling of the RB19 during the last few races of 2023, something Max was able to cope with but Sergio could not. These issues carried through into the RB20 and rumours suggest Newey and Pierre Wache had a disagreement over development direction and this may have convinced Newey his skills may be appreciated better in a new team. Eventually the handling issues got worse as development continued and Max began to struggle towards mid 2024, something we in our armchairs noticed as he started qualifying off the front row.

This also explains why Sergio went from winning the odd race and finishing high in the points, to struggling to maintain himself in the top ten. This reminds me of Ferrari in 2008 where the changes to their floor suited Massa but not Raikkonen and David Robertson had to threaten Maranello with legal action unless they reinstated the previous floor for Kimi, something they eventually did and his performance instantly improved. It'll be interesting to see how Red Bull perform in the first part of this season, as they seemed to find the balance towards the end of 2024.

Gee, I am just filling in time, cannot wait for the first farce of the year.. Been way too long since the last drama..

Well, Red Bull Racing is saving me money, was just looking for some merch... But ahem, nah, they can keep their 2025 design. Yuk.

But I always fancied a red hoodie and polo 😇🤣

I've pretty much unblocked everyone... but I am rethinking that decision... :p
🤣 Not worth it in my opinion. If adults can't handle others having a different opinion and reading on, I think that says more about them than anything else. In general, most have more in common with others than they have differences.

Right, right...

From what I've read it seemed to me that RB gained that end of 24 performance with their renewed development in their front flexi wing. RB and Ferrari had dismissed the path McLaren and Mercedes were on due to the standard inability of the FIA to govern.

It's going to be interesting to see how teams design to compensate for the 33% loss of flex in the static test.

My prediction for this season. Max will get extended paternity leave due to excessive swearing on the board radio. After he and Lewis have several encounters. And Lewis will go on to win a world championship for Ferrari. Liam will become second overall and Charles third.

Lando Norris is beaten by Oscar in every single race.

Carlos Sainz gets a total of five points.

And still I’m looking forward to this season 🤣

No paternity leave for Max. He will live stream from the cockpit to the crib. I have no opinion on Liam yet.

The dynamics at Ferrari will be interesting. Lewis needs to finish ahead of Charles leading up to Bahrain to get the favored driver status. If Charles demonstrates he is quicker Fred will be tested. I won’t be surprised to see Charles and Lewis come together. A Lewis 8th is far from a given.

I agree on McLaren. Oscar has taken over a significant portion of Lando’s head from Max. Lando will be tested. Zak will freely hang either driver out to dry in pursuit of a 2nd WCC.

I’m actually looking forward to watching Carlos and Williams. I think we may be pleasantly surprised…. ;)

I'm hoping with you. And in a more serious manner, I hope it works out with Charles and Lewis. Lewis may be able to give that team, and Charles, that little more from his experience and edge that he needs to get that final part. But yes, this will be a year that is testing for Lando. He has to find his consistency and serious side. The team can do it, the car can do it, in all honest I think he can do it, but his problem is also that final part and that is his to own.

Of course Lewis has an amazing amount to contribute. The 2025 car is more a LH-25 than a SF-25. As I stated before this will be a test for Fred. We will have a good idea by Bahrain.

We'll have to wait until the Spanish GP until we see the new tests come in. The teams may still use flexi-wings up until that point unless they opt for something new from the start of the season.

The Race had a video on that. Max's raw talent is able to mask design errors in the car which influences Red Bull continuing down the "wrong" path. Eventually, even Max reaches a breaking point and then the team scrambles to roll back changes to try and get things "correct" again.

The Race believe that this is what happened during 2024 after Miami - Red Bull went down the wrong path, Max could adjust but Sergio could not. Eventually even Max could not adjust so the team started to roll back and Max recovered form. Adding the new flexi-wing to the mix might have again been a case of Max adjusting and Sergio not.

It’s noteworthy that this began while Newey was still designing on the RB19 late season.

My understanding was the reduction by 33% in the Static Test creates a challenge in regaining the high load down force flex. This goes beyond Spain. Did I miss something?
