Well we (effectively) have 11 teams now and I expect the next Concorde Agreement is going to keep the maximum at 12 now that GM is in.

And yes, there is a theoretical "perfect" aero design for an F1 car, but even Max Verstappen, who is the most talented active driver in F1, cannot maximize the potential of it (starts at 7:40):

Why 10x 2 car teams? Most teams that are "tier 1" will have a 1 and a spare driver, Ferrari, car 44 is number 1, and some bloke is car 2, same with Red Bull, Max is going to never be number 2 driver... So why bother with 2 car teams? Have 24x 1 car teams, this cuts the budget right to the bone, it makes the formula much more attractive to teams, drivers.. You are not going to end up with a half grid of benchwarmers...

Or we have a 2 tier championship, each team nominates who is who, and they compete as such. Charles in Tier 2 against some bloke racing against Max, Lewis and Max fighting for T1 title.. Only points from T1 count towards the CWC...
I car teams in this era of cost caps is it a bad thing??

Ten teams? Is that it for 2025? And a third of the drivers are new.. I expect carnage then lol. Finally Perez is gone, but will Liam be like Oscar and be at the front after a few races?

Seems unlikely, teams were fighting over Piastri. Red Bull have given Lawson a seat for lack of better/any other options.

I can understand the legacy of 2 car teams, but going forward, with pensioner drivers now, having 10 teams of 1 car each, you could have the pensioners, but they would not consume all the resources.. the 18 19 20 yr old next 12 times world drivers champion would have a fair shake.. Right now, it is poison to be number 2.. in any team, it is basically career suicide.. You put Alonso and Max in the same team, and Alonso will never beat Max, Max will take a risk more often than Alonso would, we all as we age loose that risk tolerance, we all become risk intolerant, it is very subtle, but it is there.. I wonder just how much risk Lewis/Alonso/Bottas are willing to tolerate as compared to a 19 yr old F2 champion??

F1 has had two-car teams since at least the modern era (1950 to present) if not earlier.

I do not see the current teams interested in a single-entry format as two cars give them redundancy and reliability. And the biggest expense is designing the parts, so making one instead of two is not really going to result in significant savings.

If only they invested in a significant driver program and had a second team….

Absolute insanity they keep ending up in this situation.

Well Max more than makes up for it to be honest. But it would be nice to see a fellow RB driver able to challenge Max at least.

How many more days before the 1st swear ban or team has a throws the baby out with the bathwater moment? When everyone and the family parrot whinges about the new Stewards, or race director? Cannot wait for the first farce, sorry race of 2025..

MBS is floating the idea of silencing the radio per occurrence. Time of penalty still being determined in smoke filled back rooms.

I'm looking at the reports in amazement. Currently, the radio messages are a deliberate choice to broadcast, so if he wants to silence them, then he should be renegotiating with the parties who he sold the rights to broadcast them. That person is so out of touch with the world.

The tinpot dictator yeah, if he was walking the street of Basildon, and muttering his views, he would end up sectioned.. It is all way too Sharia, that is like getting 120 months hard labour for farting in traffic court.. I expect race bans for doing 81km/h in the pit lane..

I don't know quite how to express myself without offending, but I see F1 as becoming almost devoid of humanity.. It is very almost an irrelevant formula, the racing ruined by over zealous officials, or incorrect penalties, or just plain overzealous penalties..

Having enjoyed the series since the very early 1980's and now 40 yrs later, at a point where if I miss a race, oh.. no big deal, maybe age is a factor, but this lunatic is just too much, but what concerns me, is the 10 mad men that support him, everyone that is the head cheese of a team, really should be sectioned..

I see the crash about to happen, and a lot of tears and regrets and and.. But too late.. I just cannot quite understand how 10 adult men can live and work, and accept this lunatic.. And that they are not man enough to say NO....

That is problem... fear has won..

Irrelevant? It’s the biggest Motorsport in the world what are you talking about.

Don't worry about it, it does not affect your relationship with the sport.
I explained my view in the statement I made, if you don't agree, then fine.. I will not explain it..as it already is simple enough to understand..

It’s just a weird comment and a weird response.
Sure you might not like it that’s fine. To claim it’s almost irrelevant just isn’t logical.

It is totally logical, there is good reason to post what I did, and for the reasons I did, there is zero merit in me trying to explain it, it makes sense to some, and to others, not, and that is 100% perfect.. It is not meant for your "level" of supporting the sport. I have no issues with your comment, it is a perfectly valid comment, as mine is a perfectly valid comment for the reasons I commented.

I am bored, tired of the antics of a lunatic and his bunch of not sure what, but employees of a tent industry would maybe suffice.. I want the season to start, to see chaos and tantrums.. Drama llama..
