So, should I assume Aukey's listed in 1st post is the cheapest that can do the work properly?

Currently yes, although I'm not sure if the Anker promotion is still active.

When I see your message, I reread this thread again and found the promo code for Anker. Ordered it with some iPad Pro accessories. Thanks for your tips.

Meanwhile, I also look into the Cable Matter one want to get it for home use but the black color has gone.

Yeah, it's one of those things Apple just doesn't like to do. Ya know.. give better features when there isn't any sensible reason not to add them.

I thought this time Apple finally wake up when I saw HEVC and FLAC is on the list, but now I realize is not. Really not understand what Tim Cook and his team is thinking....

As stated by the OP the Anker 30W USB-C charger and Apple cable was able to Fast-Charge the iPad Pro 10.5. My KillAWatt power meter showed 29W and that dropped to around 22W at 50-60%, as noted by the OP.

Going to check a couple 3rd-Party cables. Some reports of success at fast charging iPhone 7 with 3rd-party cables. Unfortunately i bought the charger before that nice coupon sale, but i suspect once compatibility is confirmed Anker will release some updated USB power hubs with USB-C PD support. Maybe they will wait until the iPhone 8 is released, just to be sure it is compatible or they stick with Lightning port as expected.

With 3rd party USB-C to lightning adapters seeming to be a bit thin on the ground at the moment, and those which there are seemingly more than often not able to support fast charging; has anyone tried and had any luck with any USB-C to micro USB cables, (which seem to be more widely available) and then using Apple's own micro USB to lightening adapter to connect to the iPad? I know this isn't a very elegant situation, but as I already have the micro USB/lightening adapter, it could be a solution for me until better 3rd party USB-C to lightning cables become available.

Has anyone had any experiences with the 29w charger and usb-c extension cables? The usb-c cable I bought from Apple is too short.

I did try a couple USB-C to USB-A adapters with various standard Lightning cables and the combination would not fast charge. I have a feeling the PD protocol may not make through a standard USB cable. That information should be out there somewhere.
