[3.0] The Visual Bug List

this isn't really a visual bug, but it's something that needs to be redone.

photo 1 - you cannot see the whole image
photo 2 - the photo bubble just looks messed
photo 3 - this is the image i sent, (how the receiver would see it) it's pushed down for some reason.

(referring to photo 1) a translucent menu bar should be used, so you can see the whole image.

I agree. That is strange.

I found another one for you Spaz. When in the ipod and you are looking at the lyrics of a song, when you tap so that the lyrics to go away, the album artwork seems to get distorted a little right under where the genius symbol is.

Idk if it is just mine but you can check for yourself.

Fixed that for you (unless of course you actually work for Apple's iPhone team, in which case shouldn't you be under NDA?).

What's my evidence? Just run 3.0 on a non-3GS. That's my evidence. 3.0 does not perform as well as 2.2.1 does. I know this because I am using 2.2.1 again and I have a much better experience. I miss copy and paste, but I don't need it that bad.

I agree that 3.0 runs terribly (slow) on the 3G. Just another fairly subtle way of encouraging people to upgrade to the 3GS, I guess.

Anyways... seriously... I think Apple is going to just forget about all the other iPhone users are cater to 3GS users with speed optimizations and UI enhancements.

Too bad too. I don't wanna upgrade my iPhone until they change the hardware design.

As you can probably tell, the word "Install" is sitting up too high within the button on 3.1 beta 2.

I wonder why Apple would mess with the .png's, unless the buttons are 100% code and no images then I don't see why they would even think about reopening that PNG in photoshop and doing some stuff with it...

Not really a glitch, that infers that there is a usage or performance issue.
These are just visual errors.

Visual errors are still important. I sort of grew up with Apple and they've always been able to please me with their UI designs... 3.0 is kind of a mess and I don't know why. It's very sloppy for Apple's work.

Ever notice how the 3GS OS is 300mb+, whereas the iPhone and iPhone 3G is 230mb?
Apple is giving you sloppy seconds, 3GS owners get perfect graphics.

Just another way they're trying to get you to upgrade to a 3GS.

Hey Spaz (or anyone) I'm just curious as to about how many people need to report an issue to Apple before they really take it seriously? I really just have no idea, is it 10, 1000?

also, for the life of me I can't figure out the issue or difference between the 2.2.1 and 3.0 map issue. Is it the center line between the buttons we are talking about? Whats the issue? It looks like one of the black lines is maybe a pixel thicker, but I really can't figure out the difference. Thanks.

also, not visual, but why can't you turn to landscape mode when you're typing something (like a post on macrumors) in safari. That really bothers me.

I have had a lot of bugs while using my 3G.

As you can see:

-i have floating auto correction.

-My background popped up with my spotlight keyboard and some weird thing at the top

-The back button, edit button and SMS recipient's name is gone

-And the calculator app gets all messed up when you open it while on a call. weird.

I was texting my friend, telling her that I go back to school the "26TH!" (she goes back a few days later then me) and the "TH" was at least 2 pixels above the "26".

I agree. Ever since the new team took over the iPhone development... it's been kind of a mess.

I switched back to 2.2.1 again where it's all smooth again. Once you switch back, it's hard to believe how much smoother it is! People say the iPhone 3GS is nice, but it mostly SEEMS better because 3.0 on the 3G is terrible. Once I put 2.2.1 back on it, it seems like a 3GS. Hah! Of course it's still not as fast but the graphics aren't clunky.

Contacts bug

I don't like the way the custom labels for contacts are given a smaller font and still don't even fit.

Surely the numbers could be pushed over a bit to the right to facilitate.
