Umm no. I owned the X, and it is NOT superior. My S9 plus and Note 8 both kill the X.
give me some good examples of why please.

Glad it works for you but what is superior is based on your needs. For me the x crushes any samsung phone. What fits my needs won't fit others.Umm no. I owned the X, and it is NOT superior. My S9 plus and Note 8 both kill the X.
Who said anything about risk? I didn't. People should pick the platform(s) that best suit their needs. Hopefully they'll be happy with their choice. I am. I wouldn't want to return to a Windows world for all my work (I run Win 10 in Parallels to run one app I need). I'm not sure about Android as I haven't had an Android phone since 2011.Always makes me laff when I read this, as if you are going to some niche barely heard of newbie software platform. Instead of a) the OS that runs the worlds computers and b) the mobile OS that runs 90 or so % of the world' mobile phones. Some risk, yeah..
So why the "good luck" remark?Who said anything about risk? I didn't. People should pick the platform(s) that best suit their needs. Hopefully they'll be happy with their choice. I am. I wish him well. No hidden agenda. So why the "good luck" remark?

Yup. I have to have the iPad pro with a pencil and a macbook if I were to do that with apple . That is so heavy to haul around! The fact that Apple doesn't have a true 2-in-1 option is making me think i want to leave.
Linux is very user UNFRIENDLY and difficult to use and not many programs support Linux. So that's definitely a step down from Mac OS IMO.I switched away from everything Apple a couple of years ago and I regret it. I sold iMac/iPhone/iPad and switched to Linux and an Android phone (Google Nexus 6P) because I didn't want to "depend" on Apple for everything and for the costs. I regret it because I have missed macOS/iOS a lot in the meantime... I then used a Hackintosh for a while (for the macOS part) but I finally bought an iMac the other day and I may buy again an iPhone when I have the money. I really missed Apple products

I think the Google Nexus line is very lacking in user friendly features too. So Mac and iOS would be a ton better for sure. I think Android have improved a lot since.
Linux Mint 18.3 is what I am using with my decade old Laptops, with SSD drives and just keep my macbook pro for very few uses.I switched away from everything Apple a couple of years ago and I regret it. So whicb device the S9 or S9 Plus??
The plus is not that much bigger. I know cause I have an S8 sitting right next to my S9+ as I type this. Go for the S9+, bigger battery, dual camera, and 6gb ram instead of 4gb.

Honestly, I cannot take seriously laptop gamers. That's an horrible trade-off. Gaming laptops will never be good gaming computers because physics, and they are terrible laptops because of weight, dimensions, and poor trackpad. If you want to game, you will be better off with a desktop PC. Stick with a slim, lightweight, and ergonomic laptop for when you are on the move.
.
A lot of PC laptop users would scoff at this. Believe it or not, PC laptops have come a long way and you can get a dedicated graphics cards that can play A+ PC games at a fraction of the cost of a barebones MacBook. They can be reasonably thin, lightweight and well designed. Of course the smaller the footprint, the higher the price.
I'm not saying PC laptops didn't come a long way. They simply are "trade-off" machines.
They are not as good as desktops for serious gaming (think about modding games to the limit, overclocking, upgradability).
They are not as good as laptops for portability (weight, dimensions, poor trackpad, poor battery life).
Much better to have both. For people that cannot pay for it, they have to live with the trade-offs.
