I received my card and have installed it in my 2012 a1278. Everything worked perfect on 1st boot after installation under High Sierra. I'm still trying to track down the windows driver but I don't use windows that often. I had no problem achieving 1300 tx speeds with good routers. With medicore routers I'm seeing around 600-800 but that is not the fault of the card. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

I'd appreciate that if you still have them.
I had the WIFI driver posted here, #405 didn't think about the bluetooth driver.

EDIT: Nevermind bluetooth is there also, it's been a while since I have been on this thread. All my cards have been working rock solid, and sometimes I forget they are there, just remember when I notice the amazing download speeds, thanks again @troop231.

I'd really like to preform this upgrade, but the price is way, way, way outside of my budget. I did the 802.11n + BT 4.0 upgrade for about $7 (used on eBay). While it works for Continuity & Handoff, I'd like the 802.11ac speeds. Any chance of reducing the price by just offering an "adapter card only" option? Many thanks for your tremendous effort and great work.

It is not possible to sell it that way because it requires micro soldering and special RF testing.

Ordered mine for delivery to the UK on Feb 7th, it arrived Feb 15th. No customs charges! 😀

Installed and works perfectly. The most speed I've been able to get is about 650Mb/s running iperf3, but that could be my network config, which is: router, over powerline to upstairs switch and connected to the switch are my PC, NAS and a Ubiquiti Unifi access point which handles WiFi duties upstairs.

Until now my MBP has been connected to my network via an ethernet cable unceremoniously draped around my bedroom because although internet speeds were fine on WiFi with the original Airport card, browsing the files on my NAS was frustratingly sluggish. Even moreso when Time Machine wanted to do a backup. After installing the new card, browsing files on the NAS feels pretty much like it did when cabled. I don't even notice when Time Machine starts backing up in the background - nothing slows down. My goal was just to be able to finally have a cable-free MBP (except for when it needs charging), so from that perspective - job done!

Here it is installed. At some point in the not-too-distant future I am going to have to take most of the laptop apart to replace the clutch cover and when I do that I will do a proper job installing the card, but this will do for now:

We don't have a preorder feature on our website; ETA is not far away..

802.11ax was just an idea, and may not be possible if Apple doesn't include the drivers in macOS.

gotcha - ok i'll just keep checking like once a week or something - if you remember you can PM me
thx again

Due to being scammed by some buyers and the amount of lost or delayed packages, we will no longer be offering USPS first class international for shipments.

We ran the numbers and ~20% of our shipments are either lost or extremely delayed with using USPS. Even domestic shipments are problematic. One package took 3 months to go from TX to FL..

USPS have been going downhill exponentially and it's pitiful; if we keep using them we will go out of business.

i've sold stuff internationally on ebay and i learned my lesson - absolutely NOTHING can be shipped any other way than priority with signature confirmation or a comparable service w/ another carrier - all other lesser services are a recipe for disaster

We may have to pull out of the international market, since we have lost thousands either through scammers or the USPS antiquated shipping system.

Unfortunately any alternate carrier means extreme cost of shipping. Too bad there's not an Uber for shipping packages.. yet?

yea...it's too bad - a few ruin it for the many - i understand what you're up against
priority mail international isn't that crazy - ups or fedex can get up there
thankfully i'm in the states so it won't be an issue w/ me :)

Would a - say - European - relay help? This way you could bundle shipments and the higher costs of using a different service could be borne by more users.

Yes that would work! If OWC would partner or take over, that would be nice. Not sure how to get in touch with Larry there.

Just don't ship international.
