Hello all, new to the forum. If there is a previous post that answers my following question, I apologize in advance and request you kindly provide me the link.

I received the new card today and installed it into my late 2011, 13 inch MBP with no issues. Currently running High Sierra. System report checks out and shows handoff is supported now, however I can't manage to get handoff working properly.

I logged out of and back into my iCloud on both MBP and iPhone X. Made sure handoff was enabled on both devices, same Wi-Fi network, bluetooth on, and reset PRAM and SMC on the MBP. I reset network settings on both devices and reconnected on same Wi-Fi, but still nothing.

Is there something I'm missing or haven't tried yet? Any help would be much appreciated. Attached is a screenshot of the bluetooth system report in case it helps at all.

Thank you.

@highvoltage12v any ideas? It's probably buried in this thread somewhere.

Soooo question for you. I have a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro still on Mojave. Can I just install this card and give it a go or do I have to be on Catalina?

Mojave should work; try it and report back.

Anyone have latest news about compatible Broadcom cards with BT 5.0 capabilities ? It seems we only get 4.2 at best with native Broadcom airport cards.

While the current supported ac/BT4.2 was good for some years, I just thinking when technology shifted with newer ax/bt 5 based cards, or MacOS feature which rely on them (like current handoff/continuity required ac/bt4 cards)

This would only be possible if someone were to write robust, native drivers to utilize newer Broadcom/Murata/Qualcomm/Intel chips.

Hopefully it'll work out of the box when Apple writes native kexts for new cards

Not possible since the new chips Apple uses in Macs are also used in iOS devices and aren't fully PCIe based needed for the unibodies to work.

Installed the card today in our Late 2011 MBP, now getting 507.41Mbps download basically maxing out my isp plan! Very impressed, nice work guys. No reply from OWC to the email I sent them last Friday, sadly. I would dearly love to see this product for the Late 2012 Mac Mini!

Ahhh, okay. One more noob question, the longer wire, which I think is for Bluetooth, should I not connect that to the board or is that unnecessary?

Can someone please help me... i ordered am adapter for my 13" macbook but as i was taking the antenna cables out of the old adapter, one of them fell off. I was being really careful too. I hope i haven't broken my macbook 😭

I can't tell if that's the Bluetooth cable or one that goes into the display assembly. Either way it looks like you have three antennas, which is what you can connect to the card. Should still work fine!

I have 4 cables on my macbook. 3 short and 1 long. The documentation said leave the long one to the side?
The one that has broken off is one of the 3 short ones so now i only have two.

What can i do?

In this situation you could use the long Bluetooth cable to 'pick up the slack' of one of the broken WiFi antennas. I think you would still get 3x3 MIMO as long as your router supports it like the Apple ones do. :)

Ok i will try it.
Does this mean it won't work as well as it could because of this broken cable?
It literally just fell off when i touched it. I have had it for a number of years now

Try it and report back, as it could be valuable data if it happens to someone else! It can be common for the antennas to become fatigued/brittle after opening and closing the lid over a period of years.
