Yeah, it fell out of my daily morning routine after all the posts asking why it was taking so long and associated conniptions. I suppose I'm quickly approaching 'whiner' status myself so I digress.

Better luck next time...

You have to check on semi daily bases,

i missed it before and everyday early morning or before the end of the day I have to open the forum & check.

————-

After reading the above I’m glad my order was placed once and it’s under processing.
I start work by 5am and was afraid to sleep stayed up till midnight & yet at 12:00 I refreshed and it stated it’s not available, at 12:01 it showed up.

all you need to do is check on the form put it in Your fav. & almost daily routine to just check up untill a date and time is set

Definitely not your fault! Sorry for the sniveling but I felt like a kid that slept through Christmas morning... 😭

Happy to hear you got another batch off without issue, however. I'll be lingering for the next batch, for sure!

@carrisco Sorry to hear that :( Hopefully we'll get you taken care of in the mini batch next!

Thanks Troop231 for breathing new life into my 2012 machine. In the future even Wifi6 might be possible.

FWIW, I too missed that last drop because the waiting list email ended up in my junk mail (although know that wasn't the case for you), and the forum email notification never work consistently for me even after adjusting my settings. I also setup a distill alert (https://distill.io/) on the Subtle Design site to monitor any changes, and was alerted via both the waiting list email and distill monitor... hope you're able to nab one during the next drop!

Ouch.

No email notification about new posts in the forum thread (about the stock being ready) and the 'waiting list' email comes after they are already out of stock...

Last post-activity email that came through from Macrumors.com was October 18. Tough break! :(

Hi everyone!

I have just added myself to the waiting list for this amazing product :)
Could you please tell me if it will be compatible with Big Sur?

Thank you!

Only if the MBP it is installed in is.

The current reports are that the 2012 non-retina models like mine are not. Perhaps someone will come up with a patch or hack.

Although my 2012 has been my test machine for Catalina, I may roll it back to Mojave or High Sierra to run some legacy apps if not Big Sur compatible.

I knew all this this before I placed my order.

DHL did a fantastic job and mine arrived today in what looks like perfect shape. I probably won't have time to fit it until later in the week, will be reporting back once installed!

USPS indicated mine would be here Monday, but somehow it showed up today! I'm now posting from an upgraded 13" mid-2012 MBP. Thanks, once again @troop231. Excited to enjoy the much faster speeds.

Awesome! Thank you. :) Hopefully the install was pretty easy for you :)

Installed on my 15MBP and working!

For those who were unable to grab one for a 13" model, I might have one available if my friend flakes out on me in a few days.

Interestingly enough, in the hardware system report it is showing Bluetooth 5.0

That's weird! After many moons of testing these, I've never seen sys report showing BT 5.0. 🤔

It was my mistake, I double checked. It was showing BT 5.0 for my iPhone, but 4.2 is going to be a big deal for me as I like to have my headphones connected and have to often walk away from my laptop while I am working.

I have Windows 10 installed on this machine as well. What drivers do you recommend or just let Windows Update take care of it?

Curious to know how well your range works. The AirPods Pro seem to have horrid range on BT 4.2.

This is also true for my 15" 2013 rMBP that's my main workhorse and has BT 4.2

I think @******* posted the Windows drivers in this thread.

Thanks, I will check for the drivers.

I will update on how my headphones perform after this upgrade sometime over the weekend for sure.

The best way to fix this is to download and install brigadier.exe (7 Zip also) then navigate to the directory for brigadier in using CMD as an ADMIN and enter "brigadier.exe --model iMac17,1" this will download drivers for the 2015 iMac which contain the EXE for the Broadcom WiFi drivers as well as Bluetooth.

EDIT: Here they are from my iMac, I believe they are correct, I have a few Bootcamp installers on here.
Great.

Everything working as it should on macOS Catalina and Windows 10.

Now time to tinker with Big Sur once it officially releases 🙃

What a fun ride it's been on this machine all these years!

Hi Res Glossy Display
2133 RAM (Only 5% boost in CPU performance over 1600)
UJ267 Blu-Ray Burner (Installed once Apple dropped RAID 0 support)
HDD to 860 EVO SSD
Keyboard & Trackpad replacement
2 Magsafe port replacements
Several battery replacements

And now Wireless AC + BT 4.2!

I am truly impressed by the speed of this delivery. Still cant believe it only took 4 days to get from the States to AUS, especially during the pandemic! Hopefully I'll get some time to install it later this week, I'll keep everyone posted ;)

I can confirm that the upgraded BT has helped my "TOZO T10" headphones stay connected much more reliably now and in a room I was never able to stay connected in my place previously. My WiFi connection is much more consistent as well.

I still haven't heard back from my friend for the 13" card I have and will list it in the coming days. I am not looking for any profit on my end, just ebay fees & shipping covered and will ship quickly.

I've heard a lot of mixed messages, but generally I tend to upgrade to the latest version of macOS possible as Apple tends to start locking people out of things such as Xcode fairly quickly and are things I still play around with from time to time.

Got mine last week. Installed yesterday, early 2011 MBP 13 on Catalina, interesting bug is happening. When the module is connected, the system goes nuts, all fans high speed, system throttles itself like overheating (kernel_task to 96% cpu) become unusable. Tried reset smc and pram, no dice. Disconnect module, it works fine, reconnect bugs again. Anyone else experience this? Is it a kext conflict, maybe bad solder?
