This can eventually be made a "jailbreakme"-type utility (where you don't even need a computer) since the jailbreak can be succeeded through an application installed with a profile, which can be done through Safari.

This is exciting!

Additionally, this may become untethered in the future through a Cydia package update. So yeah, this is the real deal.

Super stable iOS version + jailbreak is what I've been waiting for. May try this on my iPhone 6s with a burner Apple ID.

jailbreak seems to work quite well... i might be able to finally put the SE i bought last month to work :)

activator settings is crashing, so ill try a restore of my 5S over it so see if the settings stick, but it will probably fsck up evertyhing hahaha... that thing is something that dates back to ios 4.x
Acivator had some issues with 9.0.2 until they updated it as well. Again with the 9.1 jailbreak. It's early yet. They'll fix it again at some point. It's such a popular tweak that the dev has remained involved over it's long history.

well restoring a backup destroyed everything as expected... removed the profile and the pangu thing is dead haha. will try to re-jb to see what happens.

hate tethered jbs :p

Succeeded, have to try 4 times to successfully download the apps and profile to the iPhone (due to server busy).

But once downloaded, the jailbreak is so easy and finished in about 1 min.

No lag, no shuttering, no crash.

Cydia normal.

Safari, Appstore, mail, phone, photos, etc. all normal.

Update 1:
Forget to mention that I jailbreak via Parallel (Windows 10). So it works.

When i try with windows 10 on parallel, which installing the pphelper app on windows i get an error. Tried with changing compatibility to Windows 7/8 and also running as admin.. any ideas?

I just restored and updated to 9.3.3 and device management isnt showing up. Profiles also didnt show up while on 9.3.2

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you

restoring a backup kills all the custom settings, like the dev profile... try to run the pangu JB again from windows... that's what i am trying right now :)

EDIT : it worked, but now I have TWO pangu apps haha

EDIT2 : and the main goal was accomplished, could use my old activator settings from the 5s. what a mess is living on the bleeding edge :)

Wow, So wrong, and less than 24 hours before the actual Jailbreak releases.

I'm just ribbing you good-naturedly, Very happy to see the new jailbreak released today. I think we're all very happy people.

I'll gladly be wrong if within 24 hours a new jailbreak is released. Maybe I can accomplish the same feat when iOS 10 is released. ;)

Jailbroke my SE

Updating 6s+ to 9.3.3 to test drive iOS 10 from there,
Then will likely revert to iOS 9.3.3 after a brief period of iOS 10 testing / maybe even hand the device down to another family member, been glued to my SE for a month

iPad pros are having problems supposedly w JB, but not sure what I'll do split between my 9.7 and 12.9 at that point

So many predicaments so quick, thank goodness its Sunday and my schedule was wide open

No sure, my Parallel Version is 11.1.3 (32521)

Windows 10 was just updated (after jailbreak), so not sure what the version was during install PP Helper.

But I did make sure all Apple software (e.g. iTunes) are up to date.

Got it to work;) I had to go to beta.apple.com to enroll once I did that and restarted the profiles choice popped up. So then I could easily jb after I hit trust

thank you:cool:

interesting that jb-ing from the pangu apps is quite fast! you lock the device and it instantly resprings and when it's back it is jailbroken again. very cool.

just go to icloud.com and create a new one using whatever email you have access to.

installed that NoSlowAnimations thing and it seems to have made the animations faster, like opening apps and such, is that what is expected?

don't like it very much seems to create artifacts sometimes...

yup! thanks for testing....It was one of my favorite tweaks when I was on 9.0.2

again, thanks for testing this tweak!

For those who have 2 step verification. Your Apple ID CANNOT be used to jailbreak, you MUST create a new one.

There was some confusion about why it need Apple ID.

In the afternoon (China time), when jailbreak tool just release, AFAIK, the software use an enterprise certificate to generate that profile. So, no Apple ID required. However, Apple kill that cert in few hours ($299 gone  ?)

Therefore, some very early jailbreaker said that Apple ID is not required.

And PP team immediately change to the new method (the current one), the user submit an Apple ID to generate a profile. This make apple harder to block the jailbreak.

In fact, PP helper never ask anyone to use their real Apple ID, but recommend them to create a dummy Apple ID.

If you believe PP team try to steal your info, fine, I am sure they do :D, but not by asking you to enter your Apple ID and password directly in this jailbreak tool.

no prob..... ill probably have to reinstall the whole thing again next week.

knowing what I know now, at this point a good plan to upgrade to this jailbreak would be :

a) back up
b) update ios
c) restore backup
d) jailbreak.

which is different from what I usually do, which is jailbreak first then restore the backup - but that won't work for this tethered JB due to the profile.

cheers.

I have absolutely no idea about this restriction, hopefully the jailbreak will last for more than 7 days :p

I wonder about this too,

But ive been told the tethering is a feature not a limitation

So they'll probably push an untether update that doesn't go through this,

I dunno though, excellent question :D

Whats also odd is lack of untether package on this one

Wow, so the news is true.

I'm holding off until more users have confirmed...already JB on 9.0.2 so this one has to be bullet-proof before I jump.

I'm in the process now and I'm at the step where the app is supposed to be loaded on the device, except its taking a while. Is this normal?

Yes, it could take more than 5 min. If it fail, wait for 2 min and start again (official recommendation).
