That seems to be just you to be fair.
I am waiting to see it in person and then decide but from the images so far, it does look a little big.

That's weird because I'm pretty sure I got one last year when I bought a new house. But it was 2014 when I used it so—yeah. They were also available for years before that. Would be too bad if they're gone now, but I also wonder if it's a regional distribution?2014 called, there's no more Best Buy movers pack at the post office.
LOL, I can't wait for this time next year. We'll be hearing the same thing all over again.....how the iPad Pro 3 is the best thing since sliced bread....and how people are so happy they waited....and how the iPad Pro 10.5 is old and slow, etc. etc.
That's technology for you
[doublepost=1497017178][/doublepost]Let's just all agree that the OP is a joke and can't seem to accept that a better iPad than his discontinued 9.7 was released.
It would have been better for me had it been the same dimensions and same weight !
Grab yourself a couple 5 lb weights, do 3-5 curls, and I think you'll be able to manage.
Yeah ! It looks slight taller than the 9.7" Looking forward to see it in person. But from the pictures kind of looks too big IMO.

I
I don't want to say that the OP is a joke. That's not where I'm heading. I just find it funny the way people act towards these items (iPads and iPhones).
I can bet that next year, we'll be talking about the 'old' 10.5 that was released in 2017 and how it's outdated and antiquated by the new, shiny (insert name of new iPad here). This new one is faster and has a brighter screen, etc. and it can handle the newest software and is future proof. Then we'll have the threads asking, "10.5 owners, will you upgrade to the he new hotness?" Let's not forget that Apple and developers write for then lowest common denominator so the software will run on the iPad mini 2. I'm betting ( I'm not sure but I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that any app that can run on the 10.5 will be able to run on the 9.7.
If you want an early preview, meet me in the iPhone section aruond September. You can have front row seats to the.....this is the best iPhone ever....and....you people and your crappy iPhone 7's with only 2GB or RAM, etc. are jealous of me and my new (insert name of new iPhone here).
The same guys that talk about future proofing are the ones that get a new iPad or iPhone every year or two. This is why I find the whole thing funny.
That's the OP for you. Check this previous threads. Last year he was asking the same about the Pro 9.7" and agonizing over it. And in the end, no buy.
I'll tell you right now...he will probably buy the 10.5. A small chance he gets the Pro 9.7".
As said on the related thread, I doubt that 2018 will see a refresh. So make your choice based on what Apple has now.
Pro 9.7
Pro 10.5
Pro2 12.9
Lol, that's why I've given up on future proofing. I buy when there are new features I want at a price I'm willing to pay. Practically any storage bump will get me to upgrade although I might start skipping once iPads reach 2TB.The same guys that talk about future proofing are the ones that get a new iPad or iPhone every year or two. Snubs don't bother you right ? You still wanna poke your nose here even after being repeatedly insulted ? I do not have to justify my purchase or no purchase to you !
That's not the point, it should be compact and portable aswell
I just don't get how an extra 10mm makes it any less portable.
I think it's nearly 10 in height and 5 in width with minimal weight increase. unless you thought the last one was really borderline I'm unsure how this can be considered too big.Isn’t it like 4.5mm in height and 2mm in width? It’s so minimal I really can’t see it being a big deal.
Correction, it's 10.6 mm height and 4.6 mm width or 0.4 inch and 0.2 inch respectively.I think it's nearly 10 in height and 5 in width with minimal weight increase. unless you thought the last one was really borderline I'm unsure how this can be considered too big.

Apple wont release anytime soon.LOL, I can't wait for this time next year. We'll be hearing the same thing all over again.....how the iPad Pro 3 is the best thing since sliced bread....and how people are so happy they waited....and how the iPad Pro 10.5 is old and slow, etc. etc.
the 12.9 IPad Pro has 4gb of ram because of the larger screen, multitasking . That's it . It wont influence in the longevity. When Apple drop A9, it will drop the A9X too.
Iphone 7 A10 chip (which has 2GB of ram )has higher geekbench scores than A9X IPad Pro 12.9 . The Iphone 7 will last one more year than 12.9 IPad Pro.
As for 10.5 IPad Pro , I think it will have 3gb of ram . The 12.9 IPad Pro 2 will have 4gb or maybe more.

Apple wont release anytime soon.
IPad cycle is 1.5 year now.
October 2018 next IPad refresh
I think it's pretty much confirmed to be 4gb in the 10.5.
I'm no IT expert but doesn't RAM come in multiples? 1,2,4,8 etc. 3 would be a very specific ammount that would probably be more expensive to manufacture than just putting 4 in.
The 12.9 Pro 2 is less heavier than 12.9 Pro 1.Lol, that's why I've given up on future proofing. I buy when there are new features I want at a price I'm willing to pay. Practically any storage bump will get me to upgrade although I might start skipping once iPads reach 2TB.
Skipping the 10.5 this year though as I'm getting the 12.9 Pro 512GB (I've been planning to get the 12.9 since October 2016). I'll probably update them on alternate years.

the 9.7" and Mini are there for casual non-Pro users who just want casual web browsing and media consumption.
