My 9.7 pro has a busted screen and home button that happened recently (the one time I didn't get the apple care)...I wasn't planning on upgrading. However, the improved screen, greater storage, and believe it or not...the fact that they kept the headphone jack did it for me. Placed my order right after the keynote for the 10.5.

I have two iPAD Pros 9.7, one with 256 wifi+cel, another with 128 wifi only. Suffice to say there has to be some dramatic improvement for me to get rid of one or both. My use is mostly for watching videos and reading. I also have the Pencil, and haven't bought the Smart Keyboard until now because it was not released in my language.

I would gladly sell at least one of my Pros if this new iPAD had longer battery life (unfortunatelly nothing changed here, at least we can charge faster) and support for new video resolutions (which I doubt it)

And if I could use it without any gimmicks to play all the games mentioned here

I'll wait a few more years before getting a new model

However I can't wait to read the first reviews about how the new screen looks like.

My iPad 9.7 was stolen one month after I purchased it here in Japan. Police never could find the 2 morons that broke into my car and stole it though there was HD camera footage of their car. Police here are damn lazy and didn't even bother looking for the car.

I'll be getting the 10.5 as I already have the pencil and SD card reader. I really can't wait to finally have a Pro back.

It sure looks tempting. But does a less than 1" improvement matter ? Or are you considering waiting for next years 10.7" Pro with OLED Display when Apple takes away the Home Button and has all that Extra Space. ?

Apple is Extremely Market savvy and the 10.5" Pro looks amazing. But how outdated will it
Be when next years model has a seemless no Button look.

I'll admit I am tempted but there's nothing the 10.5" can do that the 9.7" Pro can not do that I know off.

And yet you were crowing in the other thread only a few hours ago how smart you were to get the Pro 9.7" and how you were going to rock that till the OLED iPad came out.

So which is it?

As for the OLED iPad coming in 2018...your credibility is already in shambles.

Yes. I have a 9.7" iPad Pro and it has been everything I ever dreamed of the iPad, but now that I'm trying to use my iPad more intensively I've wished for a slightly larger screen.

I just purchased a new iMac and came in under budgeted by a decent amount. I will use that and a another resource I think I will upgrade dependent upon RAM. Now I was a big advocate of the iPad Pro a year ago and argued (even with @sracer :p - saw you mention RAM earlier and that reminded me) that 2GB was not a devastating blow and I still stand by that.

However, I don't think I'll spend $1,050 now (iPad Pro 256GB, cover, keyboard, warranty, tax) on an iPad Pro with if the RAM isn't upped. While I don't think 2GB is an abomination, the 10.5" has a higher resolution screen and iOS 11 looks to be more memory intensive with the new app switcher. While the 9.7" I think will be just fine, I'd like to see a boost for this.

The iPhone 7 Plus has 3GB. It's highly unlikely that the 10.5 iPad will have less than that.

Personally, although the new 12.9 iPad Pro model didn't get as much focus as the 10.5, I believe it's the one that benefits the most from the iOS 11 update. The next few months/year will probably see developers playing catch-up to the 10.5's new resolution anyway.

I agree and now that larger screens are a factor in the pro lineup (versus a standard iPad and it's big brother who sells far less), maybe developers will jump on board.

I'm excited for more app designers such as the ever present sidebar and full up in split screen.

I currently own a 9.7 pro. Would my ipad get that split screen and drag drop feature on ios 11 update? Thank you.

I just ordered the 10.5in 256gb+Cellular in Space Gray, Smart Keyboard, Black Leather Sleeve, & Black Pencil Case.

Will be giving the 9.7in 128gb wifi in Silver to the wife to force her to replace her iPad 3 lol. I can't take it anymore.

I doubt I keep both the Keyboard and Sleeve. Just want to try them out.

Surprised no silicone case for 10.5in to pair with Smart Keyboard.

Lol, that's as good a reason as any to upgrade. :D

I was tech support for my mom's iPad 3 and even on iOS 6, it was an exercise in frustration.

I'll admit I am tempted but there's nothing the 10.5" can do that the 9.7" Pro can not do that I know off.

I ordered a 64gb in Silver with Black leather sleeve from Apple Store. Delivery June 13.

Will pass on my iPad Pro (9.7) to my wife.

9.4 x 6.6 x 0.24in is 9.7 iPad Pro

9.8 x 6.8 x 0.24in is 10.5 iPad pro

keep in mind 10.5" isn't the same exact size as 9.7 physically,

Do I want a 10.5" Pro? Yes. Yes, I do. Am I buying one? No, and it's for two reasons:

1. My 9.7" iPad Pro is only a year old and still serving me VERY well. While the 10.5" model will have some upgrades that I will not have on the 9.7" (naturally), iOS 11 will make it feel like a new machine anyway. I already use it like a full blown computer, drawing pad, notebook, recording studio, and content consumption device. The new updates will make all of those things all that much better--99% of my software wish list items got checked off today.

2. If I have any hope of my wife letting me buy a HomePod, it's probably best that I don't buy a second new iPad Pro in as many years.

Many of the new advanced iOS 11 features are unavailable on the old 9.7" iPad Pro. You should upgrade.

No Bluetooth 5.0 no buy.
I want to be able to pair 2 headphones to it so we can watch movies together during long flights.

Looking like the 9.7 is dying. The 9.7 Pro is gone. Only the 2017 9.7 left. What happens when it refreshes?

Boat load of cash extra for the keyboard, extra speakers and a minor size change. Speed bumps always happen.

Keeping my 2017 iPad. Ex 12.9 owner. Although if I was in the market the 10.5" would be better. I found the 12.9 unwieldy.

I only got my 9.7 Pro a couple of months ago (yes I knew a refresh was coming, but bought second hand to soften the cost a little). I would like a 10.5 and once the 9.7 is sold the upgrade cost between the models i have should only be ~£200. But what stops me buying one right now is the fact that along with the iPad itself I'll need a new case and smart cover, and being a fan of the product red cover, I'm all out of luck at the moment, plus it took me a while to find a back case to work with the smart cover that i liked.
So I'll be waiting it out a while longer yet I think.
