One may like or dislike the red dot but what I don't understand is Apple's thinking on this.
What exactly is the purpose of this red dot? NOTHING! It have NO function! So why even have it and why red of all colors?
I just keep scratching my head over this. It's so Un-Apple-ish!
In my case, it won't matter because I am getting the red leather band and it will look just fine for me, but what about others?
I am just baffled at Apple!

I don’t like it, especially since I also ordered the ultra violet band and I think they’re going to clash. I ordered a set of WatchDots to see how I like them. If I don’t, I’ll just peel it off and deal with the red!

The light grey band is called fog and comes with the silver aluminum watch. You may have to order the fog sport band separately for the space grey watch which comes with a darker grey band.

Well try to just stop scratching your head and move forward as it is done. Most of Apple new bands are as ugly as ugly gets but it does not bother me. Tired of the rainbow cr^p!

I don’t get it either. And definitely don’t get it to this level... but I am old. What would happen if you got a pimple? Not work or go to school?
Yep. That’s exactly what I *tried* to do. Mom didn’t go for it tho’ :-(.

In my opinion the red dot is stunning. I think it evokes the interior of a luxury sports car.

Apple strictly used this red dot for aesthetics. No other reason. It's there for marksmanship and distinction among the other models to separate it.

Tim Cook said it is the watch they wanted to release on day one. So we can assume the red dot was always there.

Watch Dot is a steaming pile of poop. It does not completely cover the red! Waste of $10!!!
You should make a thread so others can see this before they order them. I wonder if the black dot on the Apple watches are smaller than the red dot. I think many others are going to be disappointed.

If you wear on your left arm, you don’t even see it ... my wife absolutely hates hers on her gold aluminum, but I don’t mind mine on my stainless steel ... black of old would have been better but it’s really not a big deal ...
