Nor do we know if that sharpie marker can't be removed off that surface with rubbing alcohol either. If I recall correctly, another forum member already removed the black sharpie marker off the digital crown with a rubbing alcohol pad. Essentially your sharpie marker analogy is moot if that is accurate.
My analogy is moot? Show pics to prove yours then. You don’t need to be so nasty of people with different opinions. Show the pics of sharpie easily removed from the red crown to new condition.

If it’s on your left wrist and facing down the back on your hand then there’s nothing to get hung up about!

If you clearly see it and it’s catching your eye then take it back if you don’t like it and buy the Aluminium version instead

If it’s the ceramic or SS version then your just going to have to live with it, or as mentioned, get a black sharpie and colour it out

I will do neither because I love it!

You don't have to agree with my opinions, nor do you have to comment off topic either if you don't like my wording. But let's stay on topic.

As I already stated, I don't have an issue with the red digital crown, nor do I need to apply stickers or marker to it to cover it up. So I'm not sure why I would have to prove anything to you if it's not an issue to begin with for me, I have no idea why you're asking to begin with. Nor did I state that I would apply marker to the red digital crown. It's Been suggested many times that is an option for those who want to.

If you're so inclined to find out if it's accurate or not, then I would suggest researching previous posts for those who have. I'm perfectly fine with the red digital crown and I don't have any insecurities about it. Others do, and thats there prerogative.

Ok Mr.Sharpie. Lol

For reference: If you edit your post, then add "Edit" into your post so somebody knows that you changed your wording after the fact when I originally quoted you. It clears confusion and makes it easier for discussion.
Like I need you to tell me how to behave on a forum. That’s laughable.

My red crown was responsible for an encounter with a particularly hostile woman at the Apple store in Manhattan. She was bemoaning the price of the watch, spotted mine as I was holding a new band up to it and called me arrogant. I am not exactly sure how a red crown makes me arrogant, but I like it. If the red crown can initiate such a reaction from people, imagine what other colors could do. Why, we may change the world with our oddly colored crowns. We could cure cancer, solve world hunger, end wars and usher in an age of peace and prosperity for all mankind!!!!

Or, we could just accept that it is a piece of hardware....and get over it.

She must not have been offered a safe place to protect her from you red crown. People are getting nuts these days.

Should have tied all the cellular models to the Red charity. Would be way less hostility that way then for what's just a red dot.

People are so off-centre and rabid these days that they'll get into a tizzy over virtually anything. Having a balanced perspective was once considered the mark of adulthood and intellect, now being able to rant one sidedly to your tribe is more en-vogue. Perhaps it's always been this way, just that the internet has allowed the less rational to dominate by way of numbers.

The only way to settle this is for you two to mud wrestle. I'm indifferent to the dot. It works well with the red and white nike watch face at least.

It has grown on me. The only reason for the existence of the red crown is for LTE owners to brag about having the latest and greatest by displaying it... Great marketing.

I don't get it either. And what's it going to be next year? A different color so it shows the newer new? I wished they would have just left it off.
Now if they would have done a glowing Apple Logo...well that's different! ;)

Next year there will be a new form factor and all will be LTE. The Series 3 w/o LTE is the leave behind.

In years to come the red dot will be occupy a similar place in Apple history to the fat Nano. Recalled with a shudder and “what were they thinking?”.

I look forward to a new form factor. I can understand Apple using the same current form factor for three generations of the Apple Watch, but no Doubt for the next release, we will see a similar design, but perhaps more contoured and offered in a new size as well.

I am a proud Series 2 owner (since October 2016), and wear the Watch every day. It encourages me to exercise, eat healthier, and monitor my heartrate. I can no longer live without one. I'm also ready to upgrade to a faster, more efficient S3, with better battery life, especially with GPS turned on, and of course LTE capability so I can stream music while I run.

There's only one problem - the photos from today's event show a hideous red circle on the otherwise glorious aluminum facade of my beloved Watch. It stands out like a BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY sign on a white wall. It looks so bad that it seems like a prank, a design that no one would ever consciously approve.

But if it's real, will it hurt sales, or am I simply overreacting?

I like the red dot, it looks nice. You are simply overreacting.

Just got my S3 yesterday. Surprisingly like the dot, but helps that red is my favourite colour and have only used it with red and white bands so far.

Even with bands that don't match, don't think I'll care too much.

Watch Dot is a steaming pile of poop. It does not completely cover the red! Waste of $10!!!

Just to update everyone on this - WatchDot is refusing to refund me. They instead are offering a DISCOUNT for an upcoming WatchDot that will work with the Apple Watch 3 LTE. That is a load of garbage. Really shady business practice. They should have indicated on their product page that the WatchDots don't work for the new Apple Watches.

File with your credit card. $10 for a sticker is ridiculous in and of itself. $10 for a sticker that doesn’t even fit right is even dumber.
[doublepost=1507498870][/doublepost]I also want to add that, while I do agree some folks are taking this farther than I expected, under that same token Apple has been known for perfection. Stylistically this makes almost no sense to me.

Will I get bent out of shape? No. Won’t do that at all. But I do think it was a bad decision. Obviously not bad enough to avoid buying it. But hopefully it’s not a look that is here to stay with future iterations.

That is pretty poor customer service, they should offer a full refund if you are not happy.

Apple could've gone and embossed their logo on it (here's a couple examples from Seiko and Rolex) or something instead of making it a bright color. At least it won't look so out of place.

Yeah but Apple wants other people to know; "I paid more for the LTE model just because I wanted a SS case"
