So if I buy a pair of AirPods 2, I get 2 pair pairs out of it & my wife and I can have one of each.. already have a pair of 1st gen.

What's the benefit of that? You'd have two different airpods, one with improved connection speed, less latency, bluetooth 5.0..seems like it would be annoying and provide no real benefit.

I didn't get a prompt for "Hey Siri" when paring mine.
Nor did I. I was/am a bit concerned but they are working fine it seems. Also in Settings on my iPhone it shows them as Model A2031, but Hardware Version is listed as 1.0.0 and Firmware is 1A671. Seems odd...

I think I already know the answer to this but.....
Do they fit in the ear any better than AirPods 1?

Does anyone has some play moving the "lid" from left to right and especially when the "lid" is opened moving it left to right too... I have more play vs. the V1 airpods.

First impression.... Hey Siri works well .... to me they sound better but that maybe just my imagination :) .....

My main reason for upgrade was battery life .... we’ll see how that goes
Same the battery on my first gen is only 2 hours now so that’s why I’ve upgraded. However I’m looking forward to the hey Siri being handsfree. Mine just went to preparing to ship.

Mine arrived not to long ago my first impressions are as follows:

Siri is very fast to start when using “Hey Siri”

They connect between devices faster than the first gen

They sound a little better, I’ve connected mine to my iPad Pro and watched a few minutes of Netflix, they sound more fuller. I also listened to a song and the bass seems lower but more fuller also. The sound better in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback...

Part or all of the sound improvement could be due to the new firmware. The Airpod 2 speakers are supposed to be the same as the Gen 1s. The good news is that the Gen 1s got a new firmware update yesterday with new Airpod release. The Gen 1s sound better with their new firmware. If If you still have the Gen 1 Airpods, it could be fun to update the firmware on the Gen 1s and then compare the sound quality between the 2 versions.

My pair have arrived. Initial impression is that they do swap between devices quicker and Siri use is very quick. However, the external LED seems totally pointless as it turns off after 5-6 seconds of being on charge whether it be wireless or wired charging.
Thanks for telling. That’s exactly what I was wanting. I was worried that that light would stay on constantly, and keep me up at night while it was charging.

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll update my gen 1 and check them out. I haven’t tried a phone call yet but it will be nice to get longer battery life.

My first pair of AirPods. Sound is surprisingly good. Didn't expect them to be this good (I normally use B&W PX headphones). The ease of use is awesome. Hey Siri works great (though controlling with Apple Watch is even better...). I'm really happy with them!

One would be upgraded one wouldn’t be, I usually only use one at a time anyway. How can you not see the advantage of this.
